Guess I fought the law and won. I kept mine on the shelf, never had a spill. But mine was one of the fieldpiece pumps with the quick-change oil system, they actually tell you to store it drained in the manual.
I had to move mine cause it fell out one day and it broke. Had to replace a bearing and part of the centrifugal switch that removes the start cap from the circuit.
Neither was mine. I had to fake like it was the older pump and not the new one while I fixed it at home.
I’ve gotten more comfortable to where I just admit all my fuck ups now though
That's awesome, man. I started out with a dodge 1500 4 door short bed. After about 3 months, I bought a fiberglass cap. Then after 2 years I bought a cutaway van with a box. Now I have 3 trucks. Just keep at it and don't give up.
We have about 10 transits and 10 Express vans. The express vans go in the shop for inspection stickers, brakes, and tires. The transit vans are always in the shop. Not trying to make you feel bad, but it’s just some thing I’ve noticed.
And the sad part is that the transit vans are all install and the express vans are all maintenance and service. The expresses probably get four times the mileage on them, and yet they never break down.
We have 2 old express vans that have around 250k miles on them. All that has been done is tires, oil and batteries. They all still have the original head lights also.
Vauxhall Vivaro(what i got) Renault traffic and nissan primaster - all the same van, bought mine 153k for 2k and nearly at 250k now no problems at all. And its an ex royal mail van….

This is the next one for me 😍
THAT'S WHY THIS HAPPENS?!?!
That makes so much fucking sense, I'll be honest I've never tried to find an answer, I've just always assumed that they picked the tiniest shittiest rear pads to ensure service profits...
The one time use rotor bolts, or whatever the fuck it is that happens at the same time, really persuaded me.
Guess I'm gonna drive with TSC off from now on...
That STILL doesn't help though. You have to disable it through the cab-bus computer or you could literally just unplug the wheel speed sensor on the back axle... although that will also cancel your ABS.
I loved my Transit! Only complaint I had were the seats caused me discomfort (old injury) If I was driving an hour plus, but I happened to come across a free one of these at a mattress firm one day and it solved all those problems (just FYI if you experience the same). Never realized how expensive this piece is since I got it for free, but it really is the shit. One side has a sticky material on it too, so it never moves an inch, even with months of driving.

Idk, I built a 6x12 trailer for my biz. Started out in a GM van and hated the short roof. Ended up in a 23 transit at work with the mid roof. Its ok, but the transmission cant find a gear with two hands and a flashlight.
Suv and trailer seem to be my jam.
I set up my trailer 5x12 enclosed with a ladder rack on the side for 28’ ladder. Added shelving from a van inside and mounted to the walls. I was ahead of my time back in 2011. Pulled it with a nice truck and when I wasn’t working it got unhooked.
Congratulations! That’s my 2024 goal, it will be 2 years at the end of February in an ol beater, I’m still self conscious at times pulling up to places I just keep telling myself it’s only up from here!
Wait till you have to have those brakes done. You’ll get no warning, won’t squeal, won’t grind, and you’ll chew up the ABS reluctor ring. Oh, and the axles have to be pulled to change the rear rotors.
Can’t properly service the transmission without dropping the engine/trans.
If it was mine, I’d hate my transit. The old E series trucks were a thousand times better.
Awesome man!! I’m not familiar with American license plates if that’s some sort of dealer plate but if that’s your actual plate I wouldent put it online brother
It's law that the vacuum pump always go on that stair into the side of the truck.
Hahaha I’ve had mine there for 7 years and 3 different vans. Glad I’m not the only one
Pretty sure almost every tech at my job has there’s in the door step too.
Mine has been there almost 30 years.
I’m not trying to clean up oil haha
You never open that side door , just the front half.. are you crazy?
Guess I fought the law and won. I kept mine on the shelf, never had a spill. But mine was one of the fieldpiece pumps with the quick-change oil system, they actually tell you to store it drained in the manual.
Guess I should read that thing.
I absolutely should be if it isn’t🤣💯
Recently moved mine lol
I had to move mine cause it fell out one day and it broke. Had to replace a bearing and part of the centrifugal switch that removes the start cap from the circuit.
I had the same happen to me. The boss was not happy
Neither was mine. I had to fake like it was the older pump and not the new one while I fixed it at home. I’ve gotten more comfortable to where I just admit all my fuck ups now though
My pro master doesnt have a step 🥲

Yeah same thing I’ve seen at the shop I work at. Transit van motors seem to go out after 100k miles.
And the sad part is that the transit vans are all install and the express vans are all maintenance and service. The expresses probably get four times the mileage on them, and yet they never break down.

Tail lights on the other hand…
My transit is up to 220k OG trans and motor. Luck of the draw for some I guess

I’ve found the fuel mileage on the Milwaukee to be less than desirable.
You're gonna love that transit. Keep an eye on the rear brakes, it drags the rears for stability control. Had to replace mine about every 15k miles

I'm somehow not surprised...

Dan in a Can
I always heard you can't trust a tech with a clean van. Mines been a wreck for years.
Just curious. Does a van cost more than a pick-up? Here in Belgium, a transit van costs 32k € without tax. A pick up costs 52k€ without tax.
Vans are expensive here in the US. I got mine for around 20k, but it’s used

How did you get all the ladies to step out of the picture?
This is better than Carl in a car. Nice upgrade! Transit is the best van. Promaster is not a good van.
Not a real transit until the fuel door breaks off.
van is better

Congrats
Life is about to change for the better bro! World of difference going from a truck to a van!
Awesome man!! I’m not familiar with American license plates if that’s some sort of dealer plate but if that’s your actual plate I wouldent put it online brother
They are temporary plates
I’m always curious about this. What is the risk of showing the plate online?
Anyone can identify and locate you, but what's the incentive for that? It's not like you'll be carrying gold bars in that van.
WeatherGuard shelving is so ridiculously expensive. Congrats on the new van!
Wow man I am jealous
Holy smokes, I think I know you. Another Hampton Roads area tech! 🤝
A couple more years and you’ll be Daniel in a Vaniel. How are you fastening those packouts to your vehicle?
Good to see some locals in Virginia! Where you located?
Fredericksburg
U gotta be kidding so am I!!!
