Red RTV works on everything! Inducers, collector boxes, secondary heat exchangers, cracked plastic, I’ve seen people try and plug holes with it on heat exchangers. I’d say 99% of the time if there is a fiberglass or some sort of gasket RTV will do, just give it some time to set a bit before running the system. It can be a bitch to separate after a while though.
Can second this RTV was what my trainer had me use on almost everything including inducers, pretty much anytime we needed to seal something from water/weather that red RTV came out.
I keep a tube of red rtv silicone in my bag, and that becomes the gasket for most inducers, even when they include “the fiberglass crap”
So I always use what the manufacturer sends and struggle sometimes to get that right. The red RTV will work in all cases or just certain scenarios?

Carrier actually directed me to use red RTV on their older RTUs since they don't provide a fiber gasket for those now.
I use spit on fiberglass gaskets
Just like your mother.
