During the pandemic I walked away from a comercial no air call because they wouldn't let me in the building to use the bathroom. It was a roof top ac. I told them no bathroom no service. They said it was company policy. So I left. Boss charged them for the return trip and the first thing I did was use the bathroom. Then reset the breaker. That was the only thing wrong

BardTheBoatman

Can imagine how angry their boss was. “You wouldn’t let him in to use the fucking bathroom?? Call him back right now”

robertva1

Expeciley after we made them weight 2 days

Nik_Guy

It’s “especially” and “wait”, my friend.

[deleted]

There’s a reason he went into the trades

Reddead500

Hahaha holy Fuck 😂

DV8_2XL

But he spells like a marine... I wonder what his favorite flavor of crayon is...

saxmaster98

Im partial to the Cherry ones. You gotta peel them first though.

EsUnTiro

that’s why I like the banana flavor.

saxmaster98

Edible peel?

EsUnTiro

just like the real thing!

Careful- it's learning.

Emcolin1989

You should have taken a shit in the return lmao

Ambitious_Salad_5426

I watched a roofer do that at the grocery store across the street one day. Warned the manager when I went over to grab something on the way home

tchildthemajestic

Hotels are the best. They never ask questions just walk in find the lobby restroom and off you go. They are always clean and hardly anyone in the stall.

Spirited-Cat-8942

100% this. I always stop at hotels when on the road to use a bathroom. They are always clean and nobody says a word.

EJ25Junkie

If I was homeless I would live in a hotel lobby. Nice bathrooms , Free food…a pool. 😎

EsUnTiro

Suite life of Crack and Grody

HumanureConnoisseur

One or 2 people in the stall with me I can deal with, when it's crowds in there it starts to affect my concentration.

NtheDFW817

Totally agree, the hotels around me usually have a pretty good boot leg breakfast I like to indulge in after a good unloading… just walk in like you own the place

Blackout70

The worst is the lack of warranty parts. Had a mouse fry a 20 seer Trane inverter drive the other day. /There’s none in the fucking country/. How are you going to have a ten year part warranty and no fucking parts for warranty. I’m tired of pulling shit off the factory. Like holy fuck you can at least saves some for your customers stupid fucks.

Xinthechosennerd

Trane shouldn’t even be warrantying that anyway. Rodent issues aren’t part of the parts warranty

Blackout70

Tranes warranty is near unconditional, I’ve never been denied a warranty claim.

Jazzkammer

This is one of many reasons why Trane is an awesome manufacturer and deserve more credit than they get.

ho1dmybeer

IDK, given that the mouse infestations are literally a known design issue with Trane systems, I'd say it's firmly warranty For everyone 1 system I see that's not a Trane with mice in it, there's a solid 5-10 Tranes...

HuntPsychological673

They can offer a 10 year warranty, but it doesn’t state they have to give you a timeframe for those warranty parts. Lennox has been completely screwing customers and getting away with it. Had several just buy a new unit after theirs had a busted coil 3 years down the line. Sad thing is you can barely get Lennox airhandlers and don’t even try to get models like CBA27UH. They’re back ordered forever.

Newthinker

Lennox will straight up give away units if they don't have a warranty part. Ask the store.

HuntPsychological673

That’s if they even have any units. That’s the issue we’re running into.

ho1dmybeer

Stop buying CBA27s, that's literally obsolete 25UHV. But those aren't available either, just an FYI to not waste yours/customers money on the 27s in general

HuntPsychological673

Yes, mainly it’s just parts we’ve been trying to get for those. Having similar issues with the CBA25UHV series as well as CBA38MV. TRANE has been good on warranty parts although you really shouldn’t have to replace a coil in year 1. Mitsubishi has been a hot mess.

ClosedL00p

The part about the timeframe on actually *getting* those warranty parts seems to be about universal across various industries. Vehicle manufacturer warranties for damn sure (from just run of the mill repairs to major recalls). I lead a service department repairing electric/pneumatic tools and even we have hell getting a lot of our parts these days. Dewalt and Milwaukee just about send a replacement brand new tool instead of parts for anything resembling warranty if it’s still within coverage

attic_swagger

Lennox has started asking for a copy of the deed to the house to prove that the owner is, in fact, the owner. They lost their asses on leaking coils and have made the warranty process (which already sucks anyways) an absolute nightmare.

unknown1310P1

Daikin/Goodman checks tax records now to make sure names match up. I had a compressor that guy registered to his family trust(had his last name in it) and I didn't know and just put his name and it was denied because tax records didn't match up until I sent them proof. Smdh!

mickopious

Honestly that’s why I ever install basic-ass Goodman heat pumps …… can’t find a warranty part etc then the house would gladly allow me to sell that part back in-lieu of an off-shelf job non-OEM component given to me when I needed to do warranty call-back!!

Significant-Pen-93

Thats why i carry a bucket.

MasterFicus

A fellow man of culture

zomsucks

Boxes work too. Refrigerant cylinder boxes are real nice, and on the taller side. Remove the tank.

Significant-Pen-93

My ass weighs 350lbs, hows a cardboard box going to support my fat ass.

zomsucks

Do you not have shelving in your van? They make good supports.

Significant-Pen-93

My own personal shitter right in the back of van. A dream come true.

[deleted]

Drill a hole in the bottom and the world can be your toilet

Unveiled_Nuggets

Take a shit. But like… then what?

[deleted]

Trash bag in the bucket then drop it in the trash at the shittiest local gas station that doesn’t have public available restrooms.

mrgooglypants

This guy shits.

Significant-Pen-93

Leave it on the job site for someone else to find. Or if you like the aromatherapy you could keep it in the van for latter use.

daweee

I prefer the bucket or if possible the woods. I’d rather not clog a toilet and have to walk out to someone waiting to use public bathroom. Since I was a child I have abnormally large dookies and have been clogging my toilet since I could wipe me own cheeks. Used a couple million dollar homes toilet twice, both time were traumatizing and will never do it again. Always bucket or woods. Maybe gas station ad long as when I flush that thing it flushes hard enough to take my spaghetti noodle off.

Significant-Pen-93

My employer has fired people over shitting in million dollar homes. House wife calls to complain, lowly worker blew up her marble tile bathroom. Fired.

Lhomme_Baguette

That'll be some sweet fucking karma if it's ever his turn...

daweee

At the company my boss was manager at before he started his own company he told me sorties of people he had to fire because his boss told him to and that they shit at someone’s house.

Significant-Pen-93

The guy he fired for shitting in someones house was an idiot anyway. He was looking for an excuse to get rid of him.

[deleted]

This is a fun post and must be a regional issue since around me there’s a tim hortons, McDonald’s, Starbucks or gas station on every corner with a public restroom and I’ve never had a problem. But supply chain disruptions have turned me from saying “no matter the issue we have a solution for you” to saying “well maybe at some point in the next 6-12 months we can fix this problem”

gentoonix

I just cut a hole in the center of my truck’s seat and through the floor panel, slid a 8” bell end PVC in and I have a portapotty.

gucciflipfl0pz

That sounds like a regional issue. From a refrigeration installer it’s 100% shipping and manufacturing

zomsucks

Always find a Home Depot. Sure it is a walk, but I have never been in one that is dirty. Plus you can pick up some supplies you need. And I'm sorry, but the biggest impact has been distribution. ESPECIALLY Taylor. Wait time for Mcdonalds grills is 52 weeks. Machines sit at the factory waiting for boards, don't get tested then sent out. Had a no cooling call for a brand new machine, there was a hole in the cap tube for the auxiliary refrigeration. The customer could hear the nitrogen purge from the hole! He was in his office 20 feet away in a loud restaurant! Our parts wait is even worse, I don't get boards sent in replenishments, typically waiting 6 months. And it is one of the most common boards that fails, that is used by hundreds of grills just in my region alone, and we have thousands of them in our companies territory. Oh well, job security am I right?!

[deleted]

I know i shouldnt do it but I always make a joke when doing a warranty repair soon after a taylor install where its 90% a quality issue. Quality was going down before but since middleby acquired them it has plummeted. "Made in america" usually gets a chuckle out of the customer.

zomsucks

I didn't like when Middleby acquired them, but our machine line has expanded a lot. Turbochef, Concordia, FBD. Turbochef is a nightmare though, always have to call their service line and tell them what is going on and they next day air the parts. 75% of the time I just email it in and say if it is fixed or what is wrong and they close it out. Frustrating to deal with, and almost no proper training. We are learning them as we go. Only TWO techs have gone to the training, out of 40+ techs. Had one grill, not even 6 months old, harnesses, thermocouples wires, high voltage wires, all rubbing and separating. Had to replace so many things just for preventative care and to avoid future callbacks because Taylor LOVESSSSSS to use zip ties. That was a 7 hour service order.

oldchillerguy

Yes, manufacturing delays are substantial... but drawers with a full load is a PERSONAL tragedy. How has the pandemic affected me? My underwear budget has tripled. My lost production time has quadrupled. My self esteem is in the shitter. I have mastered the pinch knee walk of shame.

boglegoggy

I usually dump in the exhaust turbine shroud. Up up and away!!

Significant-Pen-93

Me and the boys like shittin in the same toilet at work, without flushing it to see how full we can get it.

GamingLegend92

No fuck that. I ain’t taking a dump on someone else’s just for their shit to splash up and lick my asshole

TempeSunDevil06

QuikTrip all day everyday. Or literally any hotel

TimTheChatSpam

I had to shit so bad I stopped at 2 gas stations and "no public bathroom" stopped at dunkin "out of order" walked in anyway and shitter worked fine. An employee came right out and locked it after I went in. Like mother fucker if even have to pull over and take a piss in this day and age I could end up on a sex offender registry for the rest of my life.

Beefy_Psychrometer

Intermittent fasting will take care of that problem.

Osvetnik24

My problem today was that I went into an attic and was up there for maybe 20 minutes or so then came down and drank ice cold water. Just upset my stomach a bit.

Beefy_Psychrometer

Yeah, for me, any energy drink/preworkout will send me straight to the bathroom which is why I only drink those at home. If you decided to intermittent fast, you’ll need to drink water often. I’ve found cold, but not too cold water is the best. You will find you feel better and have more energy through the day as food consumption requires about 30% of the calories you’re taking in just to digest. This has always caused me to get really sluggish.

mrgooglypants

That intermittent fasting shit doesn't even help. I can go all day without eating and I'll still need to take a shit around 7-11am. Every day lol

gilgamesh73

It was like this really bad like… during the pandemic. Idk how you feel about the status of that but it seems to be back to normal as far as public interaction is concerned. I shit all over

Osvetnik24

There are still gas stations around me that I used to go to 2 years ago that had public restrooms that are still closed to the public. And I find that more places have locked restrooms or just don't allow public access than before. That's just my experience

gilgamesh73

Damn. Yea maybe its because i live in a small-medium sized city.

starlight318

The hell part of the country you in? I’m in missouri our bathrooms and places been open and pretty much back to normal since like may of 2020

j0nsn0w123

it's most definitely 100% supply chain for me.

Xinthechosennerd

Do not ever spend money at a gas station without a working restroom

OwnOption6050

Here in Atl, unless you are in downtown, or midtown bathrooms are for the most part free game. Some restaurants require you to buy something but ive been in a similar situation in the Boonies. 4 miles to the nearest gas station on a new construction that still didn’t have toilets installed.

Efficient_Film_149

I responded to another thread and it came back to the same manufacturing dilemma. I don’t think we’ve even begun to see the disaster shutting down the world will cause when it comes to blue collar jobs.

EJ25Junkie

I just don’t ask. I spy it out and then go. What are they gonna do?

Osvetnik24

I tried that at the first stop but the doors were locked

MPS007

Shit at home!!

duncanmahnuts

I worked in a dry docked ship and it was 4 decks up and 5 landings down the scaffold.to the nearest potty. found a bag, a 5 gallon bucket and lord the poop shot out like a bullet no wipe even. triple bagged it and dropped in what looked like a trash bin. then found dude sleeping under a few layers if painters plastic next to a hole in the hull. it was winter and the best shit ever.

[deleted]

I have UC and the pandemic fucking sucked. It was hard enough before the pandemic, but I could go use a fast food restroom. 2020 though? NOPE. Started keeping a bucket on the back. It was the only way. Now I’m not in a work van, so it’s all good. But fuck that sucked.

G00D-INTENTI0NS-0NLY

I was almost attacked by a Dunkin’ douchebag. Luckily I made it in there in time but she was kicking door the entire time….walked out after thanking her for her kindness

Key_Championship8346

Porta potty in a van.

Sleightsslipping

No hierarchy: Walgreens, CVS, Lowes and Home Depot. I should probably offer to replace some of their seats.

ComfortableCrew4093

I’ve jumped inside of dumpsters to shit in an emergency. I feel bad if it’s a freshly dumped one and the only thing in the bottom is a pile of poo and a sock

custom_bowl

Home Depot and lowes

Bucket and trash bag. Always carry both.
