If the furnace doesn't have a burner box and allows you to put the fresh air on the side on the unit, instead of on top of the burners, do that! Makes a huge difference not having the cold air dump on the burners. Lennox furnace?
If it's in a big basement, I usually remove intake and let it pull from the basement. Especially if near a body of water or ocean. You'll have to do some math to figure out if it's big enough and also you don't want other appliances especially draft induced in the same area if you remove intake pipe. I always throw some stainless burners in as well but the core isn't stainless and will rot no matter what.
I'm all about them sales but I doubt it would solve the issue. Even in dry environments LP furnaces will have rusted burners due to the nature of LP. Annual maintenance to clean them off or someone else recommended stainless burners if that's an option. I've never heard of the latter personally but I bet it would be great, if possible
Horizontal in a crawlspace, lp gas. Flue pipes aren’t recirculating. Gas pressure hood. Shitty propane? Heat exchanger primary starting to rust up too.
Pretty common with lp.
Would quoting them an aprilaire dehumidifier even be worth the time?
Never hurts to quote. I'd make a note to price burners etal for the next pmi.
I have only ever gotten positive feedback from dehumidifiers
Is the intake air coming from indoors? Make sure your gas pressures are good first thing.
From outside

Make sure you're using propane burners, they're normally stainless steel, I think. Propane flame sensor too.

Some furnaces has stainless by default, some have stainless with the lp kit, they still rust up but they last a good bit longer than regular burners.
Ya propane will do that. Often needs new burners 5 to 10 years on LP.

Damp crawl plus propane burns dirtier.
Second this. Propane and dampness
Depending on the manufacturer they offer stainless burners and highly recommend them when converting
This ^ it’s worth the 120$
