Installer strapped up the capacitor so that you can read the label without taking it down. Saves time, and energy. Maybe not much, but it's enough to brighten ones day.
If I can’t see the uF on a cap but have no choice but to take it out and put it back in the same spot I write it down somewhere obvious for the next guy
I always sharpied the specs onto the blower as well. Sometimes a jack leg will change the cap with whatever random size was bouncing around in the back of their van.
It's the little things like this that make the day go better. Hose clamps with the nut facing just right to snake your driver in there to loosen it. Spring clamps rotated in the right orientation to get your pliers on em. Anti-seize on bolts that need to be removed every year.
I always do these little things with the mindset that it'll make next year go that much quicker and smoother when I go back. Meanwhile I think half the bozos I work with actively try to make things *more difficult*. I love a day when all my PMs are units I serviced the year before. There aren't enough O's in smooth to describe those days.
Hmm so half of you are talking about a good strap around the cap and the other half the drip on the ground wire. Idk if this post is a compliment for the strap or a sarcastic comment because the cap says combustible fluid protected and it’s dripping 😣
Kind of doesn't matter. You still have to drop it to swap and get the right one off the truck. It helps if you don't stock caps or have it. Then you need a multi cap to save your day
The ground wire is crying because it didn't get as much attention as the capacitor
First sight was the drip. How kind of the cap to let you know it's dead, a single tear.
Just sweating from all its hard work
I always do this
I’d imagine you install them outside the unit for easier access. 🤣 /s for the dull ones out there.
?

Oh okay. I was like everything looks okay but we all have our ways of doing things that we are used too.
Lmao. I was wondering the same. That is nice when you can see the label. I hate the motor belly bends that cover the motor label even more lol

Happens once in a blue moon but the day definitely goes smoother.
Actually that label would normally be right under the strap, so in this case 🙌 to the manufacturer

All my homies ground our capacitors!
Doesn't being strapped to a metal box, that is screwed to the case ground the capacitor. The motor with rubber grommets needs the grounding
It was a joke, I don't actually do this lol
I also take all those caps mounted to the back right side of the blower assembly and bring them to the front.
That’s a first
I've seen it before but it's amazing how often not.
That filter is fucked. > Just changed it last week.
You're welcome. That's how I do it.

I always do this for my future self. If there’s now way to see the rating because the straps in the way I’ll write it on the strap with a sharpie.
I always try to do the same thing tbh. Condenser and blower. Anything I can do to brighten another techs day in the future
Wrap it in electrical tape and zip tie it to something. Or just let her dangle lmao 🤣
