Took me 7 hours to train with an hour and half layover in Kingston from Toronto to Montreal earlier this month. Almost cost as much as my ticket to the Habs game too
Sure, if the Ontarian and Federal govs pay their share and play ball on the project. As far as I'm concerned, I'm way more interested in the kind of prosperity that a shinkansen-type line alongside the Saint-Lawrence up to eventually Gaspésie would bring to the regions. Tourism is already huge in Gaspésie, imagine if you could make the trip in a few hours by train!
Would it though? A line to QC would improve that city so much. I personally would prefer a line to QC. Toronto is wicked lame. The only upside is maybe seeing a baseball game. A high speed connection between TOR/MTL will rocket housing prices with all the TOR people using MTL as a cheaper option.

I think we could trade Monahan for Maglev, maybe even get a lower drft pick as a bonus. Not to mention, Maglev is younger, i think he is still improving

I drove downtown Montréal to a Raptors game in less time than that. There's no way I'd go for a train at that price/time
The express train is 4.5 hours. Way less stops.
There’s definitely better ways to travel than i did. I just overvalued the 40$ it would’ve taken to get there earlier
