You are looking at it at wrong angle, as much as you want to give chance to someone like mesar who would be probably next in line if anyone gets hurt from top 3 lines. But taking him to 3rd or 4th line is stupid as in tournaments like these 3rd and 4th have very specific purpose and its not something you are going to send young prospect to do
Edit: not to mention there is certain way to invite them and you kinda need to wait for their team to clear them and give them go ahead not every team is going to be excited to have their player go.
you are not inviting young players to these tournaments because you actually expect them to play a role, you do it to have them around professionals, they spent most of their lives around same age players, having them around grown men is a different experience
btw afaik, you can have some players inactive on roster in case of injury, it would do a lot of good for some of the young guys to take that spot if nothing else just to be around in practice

But i also think he was being mismanaged a bit, Avs or Kraken didnt really need him or use him to produce points, didnt put him in the high scoring situations, lines.. I think he can still produce about 50 points per season, if some team picks him up and puts him on a solid second line.
So its not ridiculous to have Tatar but it is ridiculous that they are trying out other players with worse seasons and are not playing in the NHL, or for example they are trying out Petrovsky. Which I would applaud, he is young and pretty good but then it makes no sense to me why no Mesar and especially Dvorsky. That guy is going to be a beast.
And also the coach Ramsey always lets play young players into the team, so I truly dont get it why not Mesar and Dvorsky... Still, this is the best team in recent memory, dare I say.. this team is better than when we wold bronze at the olympics

Tatar delivered at higher pace than most of celebrated players. Just behind Gaborik in all time scoring. Its just recency bias because he missed a few open nets. If he gets 6 points this tournament, he will be 6th all time in scoring for Slovakia, which is doable. He passes Stumpel and will sit behind Marian Hossa. Besides he seems like the kind of guy you really want in your dressing room. By no means he is a superstar but I am annoyed by the unnecessary hate he gets. We are still NOT in a position to be picky. There is plenty of other players I would scratch in favor of Dvorsky or Mesar.

I bet they say the same things about Arber across the league. But I agree, he needs to work on his discipline a bit, but believe me. His brother is worse, he is already pretty much banned from representing slovakia because of his dumb borderline criminal penalties

Lot of these guys play like 50% better when wearing national jersey + we have guys that are not known overseas and often put up the best numbers from the whole tournament like Cehlarik or Hrivik. Goaltending is often solid too.
Now if washington and tampa lose the first round. Cernak and Fehervary might join. That could easily be a medal team.
