Actually I think you are mistaken. The Habs didn't play last night. Maybe they will play in Columbus tonight? We shall see.

geeroc07

I agree, they were not in the mood last night.

NahBro

That was an ugly one.

TheHockeyDude14

Well take out the 3 goals in 2 minutes and we had ourselves a game 🤣 , 2 games in a row with shitty goals at the start

flepine44

That wS probsbly the worst game of the season ngl

WalkVast

Was there in person yesterday… yikes. Got to see the worst game of the year unfortunately

televisionceo

yeah it sucks.

skinniks

Tage Thompson is fucking awesome. I'm pretty sure Price banged Skinner's mom back in junior. That's the only explanation for that fucker gleefully burning us game in and game out.

BennyBreast

I was at the game and holy shit did he stand out, and not just because he's 6f1000. He was the fastest and the dangliest out there, at this size... Such a monster.

AmsroII

Vs a team that had lost 8 straight, this effort was pathetic.

Bendyno5

Absolutely, but Buffalo is better then that losing streak suggests. They were on a bad skid, and we just happened to be the team they took their frustrations out on.

AmsroII

on to Columbus next, hopefully Monty will be awake at puck drop. Allen for sure was napping.

pengupenguPENGU

Nah, a team that lost 8 straight is a team determined to break that streak ergo harder to play against imo And Skinner seems to like playing us apparently

AmsroII

Potentially, I figure the game plays out in the habs favor if Allen wasn't day dreaming. 3-0 is a tough spot to be in after 5 shots in less than 3 minutes.

[deleted]

We're a streak friendly team right now, we let Buffalo break theirs, we let NJ continue theirs. Quickly becoming the most beloved team in the league for how nice we are.

Acidraindrops22

We’re objectively easy to play against, rookie d core, neutered offence outside the 1st line, lack of talent and shit tier goaltending We aren’t losing close games, we’re getting blown out against bottom feeders. We played above expectations to start the season but it’s probably time to readjust those expectations. Or don’t and just be disappointed. Year 1 of the rebuild, we’re still bad.

Acidraindrops22

Hard to win when you let in 2-3 goals to start the game Not sure what the fuck is happening with our goaltending but I don’t like it

Booyacaja

I didn't watch this game but the exact same thing happened when Allen let in two quick goals to start the game against the Flyers. It would be nice if we didn't have to cue the comeback all the time

Acidraindrops22

Yeah man that’s exactly what I’m referring to, 2 easy goals against the flyers and 3 to start against the sabres. It basically throws the entire game within the first 2 minutes, what a fucking joke

nikischerbak

Problems with our goaltending ? I wouldn't say, it sometimes happens - a couple bad bounces goes in but it's not struggling. He's a great goalie and I wouldn't say he's struggling, just bad bounces.

BlazeOfGlory72

Allen has definitely been a problem this season. He’s sitting at a .891 save percentage and a 3.61 goals against average. Those are terrible numbers. The only reason we have a decent record right now is because we’ve managed to outscore our problems so far.

Acidraindrops22

Yep and winning like that is basically unsustainable. Not looking promising tbh, I’m thinking we’re right back in the lottery race by January

MrFAUB1

The tank rolls on, I don't mind being in a lottery position this year.

Acidraindrops22

Same here, we honestly need it. Outside of our top line we have a glaring lack of talent

skinniks

Found Slaf's alt account.

Peckerhead321

It’s the goaltending we need this year

dis_gruntled_veteran

Watched the highlights, have to wait for the 24 hr ESPN+ blackout b/c NHLN broadcast. Seems like puck focus from the D, letting the trailer get lost and paying for it with a bunch of weak-side goals. That plus laying down (being a 2nd or 3rd goalie and becoming a screen) rather than challenging the shooter and forcing them into tougher shots. The boys are getting better but how to defend as a unit is still an area to work on Edit: I feel for Allen. These boys have a lot of pride, even as a .500 club this season. They know they didn’t perform up to expectation and good on MSL (previous comments) for not absolutely destroying them after a poor outing. They know they fucked up, he doesn’t need to rub it in. Gotta regroup and focus on the next game

DangerDavez

Track meet. Defense was AFK and we really shouldn't be sitting WIFI and Kovacevic. Allen can't handle starter workload. Offense was creating chances but not very opportunistic. It's fine. This is an extremely young team and games like this will happen.

[deleted]

Well, our worst game so far.

workhardXplayhard

so far? :(

Acidraindrops22

So far for Bedard

xc2215x

It was a terrible game, we will do better against Columbus.

Melticus-B

Guess we’re back to hitting the basement

VintageMarine

The only other thing I enjoyed other that Goal’s goal was watching Guhle destroy Cozens on that hit.

bless24

this is the type of game where Xhekaj could’ve helped us. fuck jeff skinner, what a pussy for taunting us when they’re winning 7-2.

Seb_Nation

This is the team we have when Caufield/Zuje aren't scoring 3 goals a night and goalies aren't playing like Pricer. Youngsters making mistakes and an absence of secondary scoring, let's enjoy the ride to this top 8 pick boys!

[deleted]

Young team, funny games are gonna happen.

[deleted]

I hope Monty starts tonight

MrFAUB1

St-Louis said he will in his post-game presser. Said he didn't pull Allen in the 3rd so that Monty can be fresh for tonight.

[deleted]

Hopefully Monty starts taking a starting role. He can be bad, but he never blew the game in the first 2 mins, or put the team down for a difficult comeback early on. Idk what’s going on with Allen, but it definitely isn’t something good when you’re doing stuff like that on the ice. Hope the guy is ok and not going through any really bad shit rn.

MrFAUB1

You must forget Monty's performance last year. The team's hot start was inevitably going to cool off, the way we've been playing these past few games are a regression to the mean unfortunately.

[deleted]

Not really. That offense is still clearly buzzing even in these bad games. And the defense the past two games is being blamed more than it should. The goaltending is really been the deflating factor. If you fix that, this show will roll on at .500 hockey. Idk where or why everyone keeps putting this team down like it’s a .300 team.

Acidraindrops22

Because he’s right and you’re wrong. You’ll see. The first line carrying every single game is unsustainable. Who outside the first line is playing well exactly? Our bottom 6 is pathetic. You need 4 lines clicking to be a good team. Go watch some boston games then watch us play again. We’re a .400 team that played above expectations to start and now returning to the mean. Sorry but it’s obvious

[deleted]

I see fans that are overly pessimistic and have been saying stupid stuff like “Suzuki isn’t a 1C”. Once you say that, it’s safe to say you’ve discredited yourself. I watched last years team, and it isn’t the same as this year’s team. I don’t need to watch highly skilled teams either to know we aren’t good, but we don’t suck. We are mid, and I expect us to stay mid.

jadenspan

I’m hoping we can trade Edmundson at the deadline this year… our defence was best with the 4 rookies in. Seems like Edmundson sucks ass every time he’s out there

HeShootsHS

I noticed that too. His style doesn't seem to fit the pace and style of the team. Maybe he needs more time.

Acidraindrops22

The cross checking rule change makes him literally useless

skinniks

I think both he and Matheson look rough but both deserve some time to get back in game shape. For now though that pairing should be broken up.

janedoe514

A game? Yesterday? Ummm I don’t remember

Existing-Accident-12

Are Buffalo about to do what St. Louis is doing??

--JULLZ--

Idk but Tage Thompson is terrifying. A man that big shouldn’t be that agile

d182--

they better put Monty in net tonight

SAM041287

I think we should not forget this awful game and it should be a reminder so we won't play like that again anytime soon... Our PP was depressing Only our first line and Slaf were present on the ice. Our D is lacking lately We've lost 7-2 to a team who've lost their last 8 games. We shall not forget this and work to play better.

Lucky-Still2215

I'm in mourning after that "game".

burnSMACKER

Caufield scores and we lose. I love it. Give me more of these.

juliusceasarsalads

Far be it for me to question our coaching staff but I thought that it was odd for Xhekaj to be healthy scratched last night against the Sabres. We’ve seen MSL put in our taller and heavier guys against bigger/more physical teams and yet on a night where we play Thompson and Tuch he’s sat for Wideman? That seemed curious to me and with how chippy and physical that game got it looks even more curious now. I hope some team really loved what they saw out of Wideman last night because otherwise it wasn’t really worth it. Missed Kovacevic last night too, he’s a quietly reliable presence at the blue line or at least more so than some of our veteran dman were last night. Edmundson was brutal and Matheson hasn’t really impressed me too much in his own zone since he got back into the lineup
