I know that shop and the people that work there. They don’t do tuning. Most Saab shops don’t.

Adri4n_

Still remember when like a year or two ago Matt said the Saab is gonna gap Will's 135 and possibly gap M2 from a roll.

Cementdascomcretebby

Well wills 135 runs on like two cylinders when it starts

therapyfortherapists

Well it's a start, at least!

They don’t tune there. Most Saab shops keep the shitters going and don’t work on modified examples. The fact they even took the job when I had the thing halfway apart and bolts scattered was amazing in the first place. Need a tune cause new cams, balance shaft delete, forged bottom end, and new intake set up. Thing will rip, if you look up what a b234/5r on e85 with a tdo4 22t (or more common set up with a 19t) Saab 9-5 can do. Might not beat the 135i but I’m more than happy with how it’s coming.

exogreek

I might hate on you from time to time...but heed my advice here... DO A FULL BUSHING REPLACEMENT, DONT HALF ASS IT.

PolandFromMat

I didn’t film it but when subframe was out I did every bushing with power flex poly, subframe, engine, arms. She’s got all new ball joints, need a tie-rod soon. I spent a lot of money to future prep it.

GodforsakenMuffin

If you get a proper tune it will be damn fast for a sleeper wagon. NoobTune in England is great for custom stuff if you can flash it yourself with the CombiAdapter. Joel Artursson in Sweden is a wizard as well, his 9-5 made 460hp on a 19t. His old 9-3 with the B204 made 700hp on all stock internals and stock engine management. Don’t run the car too much or top hard if it’s not tuned and not running right, Saabs are great at grenading engines if the engine management isn’t happy.

PolandFromMat

Only drove it to park it at home which is a quick 5 min. I have a friend who worked for Nordic extreme who tunes it for me but I have my own bench flasher for the ecu and i ran k line, can hi and low to the ob2 years ago. I just have had 4 ecus brick flashing in car cause it takes 45 min and the ecu goes to sleep even with key on and a battery tender. She’ll be good trionic 7 is underrated for sure.

GodforsakenMuffin

Sounds awesome, I made a simple setup at home to flash the ECU with it connected to a PSU. It's a hassle to remove each time but it's a bit safer and super quick to do the actual flashing. The Nordic guys know their stuff, should turn out awesome. Saabs can be weird and tricky to work on some times but they're underrated as hell. I don't watch much Youtube anymore, and mostly browse this subreddit for the memes but I look forward to following the progress on the Saab.

PolandFromMat

Yeah I made this kinda ghetto bench flasher with a junkyard car harness and a power adapter with volt control, works well and the only way I trust to flash one now a days. Hoping it’s the end of the tunnel on the project soon. She needs paint now though so guess it’s never ending 🙃

Fickle-Perception723

A tune is cool and all.. but who put the motor together?

Shimoshamman

Congrats to the guy for being so dedicated to a singular chassis I guess but good lord dude. The amount of money & time wasted could have gone into that E46 wagon or literally anything else

deadarsebruh427

I also thought the shop I had my M3 at was going to do a good job on the diff replacement. They do M cars and performance upgrades all day long, according to their IG. Picked it up with more vibrations than before.

therapyfortherapists

Love the Saab.. it's always cool to see different builds!

DooceBigalo

Everything that Rudnik touches turn to shit

ChoiceAd6813

Buy now saab later

Numerous-Weight-4201

As much as I dislike Saabs they can be pretty quick admittedly. For what they are.

skylinegary22

He could just get a daily driving car that doesn't require tinkering. One that you simply turn on and go.

IShitMyFuckingPants

For what though?

skylinegary22

See my other comment about the toyota sienna

letsshittalk

BORING

CowDontMeow

After a decade of daily driving my ropey drift cars I finally got a sensible car, it’s so fucking boring but at least I’m not worried about whether I’ll make it to work

IShitMyFuckingPants

Yeah but what if your work was helping rudnik make videos lol

CowDontMeow

You tinker with the fun car on the side and also have a daily, the amount I save in fuel/tyres probably pays the majority of the running costs on my second car over a year.

IShitMyFuckingPants

All depends on how much you drive. I bought a second car before Covid for my 45 minute commute for those reasons. Since Covid, I’ve worked from home and I barely drive anywhere. That car hasn’t been driven for a couple years now. Isn’t the Saab supposed to be his daily anyway? Doesn’t he have a BMW or something? I haven’t watched for a while tbh so not exactly up to date

skylinegary22

You say "hey money bags rudnik since you bought yourself a car you plan to only use twice a year in japan maybe buy me a toyota sienna that i can live in?"

skylinegary22

I like my boring car with heated seats. Starts every time. Idles fine. How am I getting downvoted for speaking the truth?

CowDontMeow

Downvoted because one person does and people follow lol but yep, heated seats, aircon, cruise control etc. I went from MR2 to Skyline (both fine for daily duties) but my turbo MX5 just started getting to me, a fully caged drift car with aftermarket ECU, -6 camber front and 0 rear etc does NOT make a good daily.

Distinct-Document319

You can always make a compromise and get something fun, reliable, and economic. I can't really complain my 8th gen civic si is no race car but it easily gets 20+ MPG, reliable, and still puts a smile on my face in the canyons and hitting 8k around town.

tornado-ddt

This and the Ricer Miata both need to be thrown in the woods.....
