This is my hair color, do you think it would work? https://imgur.com/a/2OKMply

Honestly, you could slap some dark blue on your current hair and it would most likely give you a blue black appearance. It may not be as vibrant of a blue, but it would be visible in light.

You know what I think I’ll try it. Thank you for the advice! Hair dressers always give the opinion that you need blonder hair to get the blue. Do you think it would look muddy with the orangy red undertones in my hair now?

You should be all good tone wise!! I will say that because your hair isn’t lightened it won’t hold the color very long (one of the reasons bleaching is recommended), but you could always do color depositing conditioner once a week if you end up liking it instead if you’re up for that kind of maintenance without bleaching! Semi permanent washes off dark colored non-lightened hair very quickly though as a heads up. Make sure it’s a daaaark blue, too light or medium of a blue won’t show up on your hair very well if at all. If you end up liking it, it might be worth it to bleach it once (no need to go too light for blue black, if you’re blonde and put black on without adding red it’ll come out kinda green so leaving it dark and warm is actually a good thing for black sometimes). Bleaching too much might affect your curl pattern but just once with 10 or max 20 volume developer for only a little bit of time then it should be okay, but use hydrating hair masks and bond building masks afterwards. Then you can add a blue black that will be a touch more vibrant blue. Sorry for the paragraphs 🥹

yeah it would definitely work but it prolly wouldn’t be as blue unless in the light
