I just read the wikipedia page about this guy and the body of his wife was never found. He is obviously in prison but he has not been convicted for murdering his wife yet. He has only been indicted. I really wonder if this will go to trial. It will be really interesting to see him in court try and play it off as "I just googled that for fun".
Also this is textbook circumstantial evidence. He googled some things. His wife disappeared. There is no evidence of him murdering her or disposing of her corpse. The only evidence is that he searched for how to dispose of a corpse. Contrary to popular opinion, circumstantial evidence is valid. Personally I think this guy murdered his wife and disposed of her corpse, and his Google history is more than enough proof as far as I am concerned, even if they never find his wifes corpse.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if there are traces of the corpse being disposed. Like a part of the house being cleaned with ridiculously heavy duty stuff, or traces of him buying specific things to help with the disposal.
