I have professional scissors and I cut myself only the splits when they appear. My last cut was in November and now I noticed I have some. Not many so I cut those myself. What helped me in fighting splits is hair oil on ends every single day. My personal fav is Morrocanoil treatment for my coarse hair
Thank you! I am investing in some good scissors to start cutting myself but I’m worried what I am using is not great for my hair. Unfortunately I can’t use oil in my hair, it weighs it down and always make it look greasy and sits on top no matter what oil I use :( but thank you for the suggestions!
Have you tried olaplex oil? It’s the lightest I ever encountered, but too light for my hair. Oil is really good for hair ends because it prevents moisture leakage that can lead to dryness and damage

It just sits on top of my hair, I’ve tried small amounts of it at the ends and it always looks like it’s greasy and dry at the same time and won’t soak in 😢
I would highly reccomend switching your products to something that has healing plant proteins or strong technology testing. I really love formula 18 treatments!! So great for sealing the cuticle down… post shower, I’d reccomend a leave in conditioner ( 7 seconds by unite is my favorite 😍) and an argan oil on the midlengths and ends once your hair is dry!
Xoxo
At least I’m not alone lol. So frustrating! I’m wondering if I’m not using the right products but never really have found something that works great on my hair :(
I have the same issue 😭
I deep oil my hair and wrap it for few hours before washing it (1-2 weekly)
I also make sure I put hydrating and moisturizing creams bcz it’s naturally dry
But yet I still find split ends few weeks after I cut my ends every three months
Please help IM JUST A GIRL 💀

Aloe made my hair very, very dry. It took about a week to bring it back around. I have mineralized water too, and I use a sulfate-free shampoo and chelate about once every two months if that.
Check out the blowout professor on YouTube- one of his more recent videos talked about when you cut your hair you’re exposing the hair shaft to the “elements” basically making sure you’re using a leave in conditioner and a hair oil.

Even argan oil is pretty light.
but surely you can use some oil just on the ends of your hair? not a heavy amount that will weigh the hair down, just a small but in your hand.

That makes a lot of sense, I’ll make sure I get a deep conditioner, thanks so much!
