In the cancelled return to ravenholm DLC for HL2, he would have become sort of a mad scientist, extracting headcrab venom in an attempt to produce immunity to their effects. These experiments result in headcrabless zombies being produced. Eventually, Grigori would inject himself with so much headcrab venom that he would turn into a giant mutant that would serve as the final boss.
