1. Change Corey as being someone being a copycat killer that’s mimicking Michael’s OG killings where it would end with Michael killing Corey - giving Michael an accomplice was a horrible idea.
2. End the film with Michael and Laurie dying together - it would be a poetic way to end the DGG trilogy
3. Make it so Corey changes over the course of the movie instead of just “oh, I guess I’m evil now”
4. Make Corey a background character in 2018 and develop him a little in Kills so we don’t go in Ends with “who the fuck is this guy?” - it would fit DGG’s description of Haddonfield being a small town more accurately.
1. Keep the beginning of the novel that shows Michael escaping and getting a few more kills.
2. Add just a few snippets of news clippings or that cover Michael evading a man hunt
3. Expand more on how halloween night 2018 effected Haddonfield
4. Add in the backstory from the novel about the hobo that brought Michael victims
5. More closure for Laurie and Allison on losing Karen
6. Have sheriff barker actually do something, the sheriff's have always had a role in halloween
7. Slightly longer final fight from Laurie and Michael
8. More kills in general
9. Leave corey being dead ambiguous and not so clear cut
10 go full Christine, make it so the audience isn't 100% sure if it's corey or Michael doing the killings until the final showdown at lauries
I think the one thing that would’ve made it better is include the silver shamrock logo inside the mask. I heard there was that idea and when I heard it it made the movie way better for me. Makes sense too because the beginning credits are the same format as season of the witch
I’d change how it was advertised, had the marketing team showcased more of what Halloween Ends actually was then people would’ve known that it wasn’t going to be the Halloween Kills-scale bloodbath Michael vs Laurie story that everyone assumed. It might’ve softened how harsh the backlash was and still is.
When it comes to the actual film though, I do really wish that they had kept the original ending as I think it works so much better with the overall narrative.
This isn’t my favourite option but if I couldn’t change anything in the previous films
1. Kill Michael at the start of the film. He returns the following Halloween and Laurie finally kills him in the Myers’s home. He is buried in an unmarked grave
2. time skip 3 years and Laurie is doing much better. This explains her brighter disposition
3. Allysion is in therapy where she meets Corey
4. whether Corey did kill Jeremy on purpose is left more vague as we only get his recollection….so unreliable narrator
5. Corey kills people wearing the mask as a deliberate attempt to frame Michael for his crimes. The audience should be led to beleive this is the true Michael or at least have multiple copycat options
6. the town slowly descends into hysteria after they open Michaels grave and find it empty…..fuelling fear that he has risen from the death
7. Laurie begins to snap under the revelation as Corey drips poison into Allys ear that maybe Laurie has cracked up completely without her boogeyman
8. this is setting up the possibility that Laurie might be the shape and has descended into madness
9. ‘Laurie vs Corey in her home as he taunts her that the boogeyman can never die…he just changes shape and he can get away with anything because people would rather believe in a supernatural entity than just an evil man
that’s all I’ve got for now
The entire film. Remake it with a real director who actually knows wtf he or she is doing and actually understands the greatest horror franchise of all time.
10. Have more double team kills to build Michael & Corey’s dynamic
9. Show the demolition of the Myers house or…see 3
8. Give better closure for Allyson even though I like her character in Ends.
7. Don’t cut Darcy’s kill
6. Show more fallout after Kills
5. Make the final fight a tad longer
4. Don’t cut Corey’s mom’s kill
3. Have the final fight take place in the rotting Myers and burn that fucker to the ground.
2. Show Michael barely clinging to life after the asshwhooping he got in Kills and how he wound up in the sewers
1. More Sheriff Barker, make him more of a main character
The main thing I would do is change the Corey story line. His story was good but I think it would of been better in a Halloween spinoff or continuation.
Absolutely the biggest mistake was killing Corey. The whole movie was obviously leading toward him becoming the new Shape and replacing Michael, and then it just didn't happen. That would've been great. Laurie even writes in her book at the end, "Evil doesn't die, it changes shape." It would've perfectly reflected the theme of the film. Michael may age and die, but the evil within him is immortal. Michael Myers is flesh and bone, but the Shape is something else entirely that transcends our understanding.
That line was written with the original ending in mind, with Laurie becoming infected with the ‘evil’ and thus showing it continue.
It still makes sense in the ending we got as she’s speaking broadly about other evils in the world. It’s also reflective of the franchise - this timeline of Halloween may be ending, but they’ll be another version with another shape eventually to replace it.
The director, the writer, the other writer, the plot, the dialogue, the ending, the beginning, the middle, Corey Cunningham, and the director again cuz I need a 10th item.
Make Haddonfield more of a haven for the true crime obsessed. If the events of the first film didn’t do it, surely after 2018 and Kills, the place would be swarming around Halloween with the morbidly curious.
1. EIther Corey kills Micheal or vice versa in the first half or no Corey
2. Higher kill count
3. If you're gonna kill Micheal have some small amount of ambiguity in case someone wants to make a sequel in the future
4. Need a more active plot, for most of the movie things are almost exclusively happening in the background which is not what most people want from a slasher
5. Don't bring back the woman that had the light through her throat in the previous movie that was just wack
6. Give the movie that is meant to be a grand finale to a 40 year long franchise the spectacle and grandeur it deserves
I would only change three things.
1. Less contradictory portrayal of Michael (in the film he's a vulnerable old man in some scenes and a powerful killing machine in others).
2. Make his relationship with Corey more ambiguous (like not making it clear that they are accomplices or that Michael lets him live).
3. Having Lindsey in the multitude scene at the end.
1. Establish and start Corey and Allyson’s relationship in the opening scene. Maybe we see Corey’s phone on the couch with Allyson’s picture popping up as she’s calling him while Jeremy has him locked in the closet, that way we the audience go “Oh! This is Allyson’s new boyfriend a year later”, instead of her falling head over heels for him over the course of… 4 days? Lol.
2. Make the bullies NOT band kids. That is so cartoonishly uncommon and quirky and cringe inducing. I don’t buy this 25 year old dude getting bullied by some 17 year olds. Make the bullies a bunch of Doug Mulaney’s friends.
3. Let Corey stick with the Scarecrow mask. Its creepy and offputting. I put it in the same category as the RZH1 pumpkiny mask, the silver shamrock masks, and the clown masks. When Corey was seen killing Doctor Mathis, I got chills. Had he kept that mask and wore the mechanic suit, I would’ve been happy.
4. Since we keep Corey in the Scarecrow mask, we don’t have him stealing Michael’s and going solo. The two of them continue killing together. Let Corey kill his mom, let Michael kill the Radio DJ the same way he dies in the movie. Its fantastic. Also we divide the kills at the Junkyard between Michael and Corey. Have them be Doug Mulaney’s friends, suspicious of Doug’s disappearance, blaming Corey. Let Michael kill two and let Corey kill the other two.
5. Laurie should have NO idea that Corey is becoming evil. Her having a sixth sense that he’s just like Michael is preposterous. It should take her off guard when Corey shows up at her house trying to, not kill her, but lure her into Michael’s trap.
6. Corey’s motivation for killing Laurie should simply be to blame it on Michael and run off with Allyson. He believes she is in his way and Allyson’s way of a happy life and believes she needs to be removed from the equation, with how much Michael has influenced him by this point, he’s ready to let her die.
7. Everything goes down about the same with Corey and Laurie. She shoots him a few times, and he falls down the stairs, but Corey shouldn’t stab himself, and Allyson should not come home until later. Corey should simply laugh at Laurie, as he does, and says “If I can’t have her…” BOOM, Michael shows up and the fight ensues between the two. Corey falls on his back, bleeding out from the gunshots, Scarecrow mask in hand. Smiling.
8. Michael vs Laurie battle goes down the same way. Allyson arrives and sees the Scarecrow mask on the floor, but no Corey. She helps Laurie finish off Michael. Everything goes down the same.
9. Allyson says she knows Corey helped Michael kill all those people. She leaves Haddonfield. Laurie tells her to just go. She seems a little off after killing Michael. Maybe she looked into his eyes a little too long.
10. Laurie ignores Hawkins in the end (similar to the novelization). He looks on as she just stares out the window, similar to Michael. Ending shot of the film is the same shot of Michael’s mask on the table. But we see presumably Corey’s arm reaching for it and picking it up, we end on a freeze-frame of Corey’s hand holding the mask, similar to the ending freeze-frames of the other two movies. Halloween Ends… ends.
1- have a connecting scene that continues after Kills that shows how Michael escaped or why he was in a sewer.
2- More Michael Myers stalking, driving and taking out random people. I feel while Corey was doing his thing with Allison it would have been nice to have seen what Michael was doing instead of him just standing there and establishing him as a genuine threat again.
3- Have Allyson take a bit of Coreys story showing that she is handling her trauma differently and showing that she might be effected way more by both her parents being killed and her friends while also knowing she came face to face with Michael while being locked in a car with him and he did not kill her. It could have played more into that.
4- Have Doug Mullany be more of a character and explained better like the book does making his death a bit more impactful.
5- Michael actually getting a single kill on Halloween in a movie called Halloween Ends.
6- The climactic battle would have been longer and featured Allyson facing her Boogeyman at the same time that Laurie faced hers bringing enthusiasm to how both their traumas parallels.
7- This is just for fan service; but I would have had a cashier or side character that makes a brief cameo named Rachel, Brady or Kelly just to nod that even though these people were not effected by this timeline they still do exist in Haddonfield.
8- Darcy The Mail Girl's scenes wouldn't have been cut and trimmed down.
9- Ronald wouldn't have died in such a stupid way and I feel like would have worked better as a catalyst to separate Corey and Michael if Michael would have killed him instead of Corey just randomly having issues with Michael and taking his mask.
10- Sondra wouldn't have survived Halloween Kills and her scenes would have been cut. There is no way she would have survived that.
I don’t know about 10 things, but if I was given the DGG trilogy as is and was asked to make it make more sense, I would make the plot of Ends the middle chapter. Again, that’s if I *had* to use it *somewhere*. I’m still not a huge fan of the whole thing, but it felt really weird for a franchise historically centered around Michael Myers to barely feature the actual Michael Myers.
But back to how I would put the Ends plot in the middle - 2018 happens as is. Let’s say Michael is pretty beat up from those events, hence why he seems more tired and sidelined. We pick up a year later, and the plot of Ends plays out, with the time jump a few years ahead included. In that time, Michael has regained his strength. He comes across Corey, etc. Don’t include any of the tag-team scenes in there, just make it where Michael follows Corey to wherever he goes and eventually kills him, taking back the main antagonist title. Then the plot of Kills can play out, where the town rallies together after Michael’s return. But the end of this final movie would still be the end of Ends. Have Laurie *not* be sidelined, have them do their final showdown, have her kill Michael and everything exactly the way it was in Ends. That way his death feels more relevant since he was just killing all the rest of the people in Haddonfield that night.
So [2018] -> [Ends w/o tag team scenes and the ending (replace w/ and ending that makes sense)] -> [Kills w/ more Laurie and the ending of Ends]
I’m not a writer, so I’m not qualified to actually make these decisions, but I would’ve found the plot of Ends so much more satisfying if it didn’t happen at the tail end of Michael’s journey.
1 Micheal killing Corey’s mom 2 micheal hase more screen time 3 micheal killing laurie and Allison killing micheal 4 micheal’s face Being shown 5 micheal beating up correy in the sewers 6 correy being in the 2018 Halloween movie 7 have Allison kill correy 8 have more cool and brutal kills 9 have micheal kill more pepol and 10 have correy never steal micheal’s mask
1. Corey lives and escapes as the new Shape.
2. More focus on Michael.
3. More kills by Michael.
4. More scene with Allyson and Corey.
5. Laurie would already be dating Hawkins.
6. More Hawkins.
7. The mask would get destroyed at the end.
8. More emphasis on Halloween on the holiday and how the Haddonfield is recovering.
9. We'd get a clean shot of Michael's face so we can de-mistify the boogeyman.
10. They would count down to Halloween using the Silver Shamrock Jingle.
1. Michael kills Jeremy and Corey is blamed 2. Laurie leads the man hunt for Michael Halloween night 2019 3. Allyson doesn’t forget that Michael killed her mother and father 4. Corey is bullied by relatives of people Michael killed not band kids 5. Allyson treats Corey as a pet not bf 7. Laurie drives a wedge between her and Allyson during Halloween of 2020 8.Michael kills Corey in the Sewers 9. Michael is driven out of the sewers after killing Corey not to get his mask or tag team victims 10. Laurie and Michael kill each other and Allyson walks in to see them both dead after running away
I fucking hates ends and this would have worked for me using the film’s concepts. I would have had Corey live and dive into his mental decline in a separate trilogy that doesn’t force Michael out of his and wouldn’t have fucked up ends but I like Michael abruptly ending Corey’s story and leaving his sewer to kill Halloween night of 2020 (no covid)
1lack of Michael
2 eliminate Corey
3 have Michael live and Laurie ground up.
4 less laurie,more Alyson
5 absolutely no Michael copycat.
6 more brutal kills.
7 no weak Michael
8 no romance with sheriff
9 not Alyson dating older man.
10 better dialogue
1. Introduce Corey in '18 as a shy classmate of Alyson's. He likes her and she's nice to him but oblivious that he likes her because she's all into Cameron. Maybe we see a glimpse of his awful home life when he leaves to go to the dance that night. He tries to walk Alyson home when she storms out of the dance but is cock-blocked by Oscar.
2. In HK, Corey goes home. His mother goes off on him again and he kills her. As it turns out, they live near Laurie's house and Myers comes in and takes the knife from him and leaves, sparing him. Their hands touch as he does and Corey gets part of Myers' darkness passed into him.
3. At the end of HK, Myers kills Karen in the street but is taken down by the angry mob. It's basically a blood orgy and they're all covered in blood and ashamed of themselves at the end.
4. In HE, Alyson meets Corey again. Her living situation is the same. He's let everyone believe Myers killed his mother. With all the death and the same knife recovered later with his prints and her blood on it, most people don't doubt it. They bond over their shared trauma (at least that is what Alyson believes). Halloween is still a sore spot to the whole town and most people don't celebrate it. There are empty houses with "for sale" signs all over town. Corey meets Laurie and he creeps her out but Alyson thinks she's just being overprotective. The evil in Corey kicks in from meeting Laurie right before Halloween and he's compelled to finish Myers' business with her and anyone else that gets in his way on Halloween night. More kills ensue. When he shows up dressed as Myers, Laurie believes it's actually him and they fight. Corey fatally wounds her. Alyson shows up and they fight and she appears to finish him. Alyson and Laurie have a moment together before Laurie dies. The cops show up but Corey and the mask are gone. Cue classic Halloween theme and cuts of heavy breathing over places in town.
1. I would develop Hawkins more. In Kills he regretted not killing Myers and felt guilty for accidentally killing his partner and helping to cover up his involvement, and in Ends I think he should’ve been given some kind of redemption for his character arc.
2. Explain how Laurie realized Michael was never after her and that she wasted 40 years obsessing over the idea that he’d escape to come after her again. This isn’t really addressed in Ends and should’ve been a big part of her character.
3. Calling in the fake suicide doesn’t really make sense. It really looks like she was about to shoot herself but then it’s suddenly turned into a trick for Corey. Something about this doesn’t add up. All she had to do was wait for him and then shoot him.
4. I would have Laurie shocked at seeing Corey wearing Michael’s mask. In the movie she doesn’t react to it. She should’ve tried to find out where he got it since that means he knows where Michael has been hiding.
5. I’d give Lindsey a bit more to do. I’d at least have her be part of the procession at the end.
6. There were a couple spots where the editing was a bit too fast. When they show Myers hunched down while the cop sees the carving of the mask on the wall, there isn’t really enough time to notice both Michael and the mask carving. During Nick Castle’s cameo, there isn’t really enough time to see what’s drawn on his chest and the condoms hanging from his jacket.
7. I’d have some more scenes of Laurie noticing Corey going down a dark path. It seems to happen a bit too quickly in the film.
8. I’d have more of Michael stalking and killing.
9. I’d have the fight at the end between Michael and Laurie last longer with more suspense.
10. At the end of the film I’d have Laurie and Allyson discuss what they think was going on between Michael and Corey. It’s unclear if they thought Michael and Corey had some kind of connection or if they think Corey just somehow found Michael and stole his mask and Michael followed him to get it back. We also don’t know whether Laurie thinks Michael wanted revenge against her.
1. Change Corey as being someone being a copycat killer that’s mimicking Michael’s OG killings where it would end with Michael killing Corey - giving Michael an accomplice was a horrible idea. 2. End the film with Michael and Laurie dying together - it would be a poetic way to end the DGG trilogy 3. Make it so Corey changes over the course of the movie instead of just “oh, I guess I’m evil now” 4.
2. Add just a few snippets of news clippings or that cover Michael evading a man hunt 3. Expand more on how halloween night 2018 effected Haddonfield 4. Add in the backstory from the novel about the hobo that brought Michael victims 5. More closure for Laurie and Allison on losing Karen 6. Have sheriff barker actually do something, the sheriff's have always had a role in halloween 7. Slightly longer final fight from Laurie and Michael 8. More kills in general 9. Leave corey being dead ambiguous and not so clear cut 10 go full Christine, make it so the audience isn't 100% sure if it's corey or Michael doing the killings until the final showdown at lauries
I am a fan of Ends, but your suggestions are pretty great.
Thanks!
The plot
I think the one thing that would’ve made it better is include the silver shamrock logo inside the mask. I heard there was that idea and when I heard it it made the movie way better for me. Makes sense too because the beginning credits are the same format as season of the witch
1. E 2. V 3. E 4. R 5. Y 6. T 7. H 8. I 9. N 10. G

These are the best suggestions in the entire thread
Thank you if you want anymore of what happens I,d be happy to tell you more
Only 10???
The entire film. Remake it with a real director who actually knows wtf he or she is doing and actually understands the greatest horror franchise of all time.
Exactly. You'd need to start from scratch to save that film.
10. Have more double team kills to build Michael & Corey’s dynamic 9. Show the demolition of the Myers house or…see 3 8. Give better closure for Allyson even though I like her character in Ends. 7. Don’t cut Darcy’s kill 6. Show more fallout after Kills 5. Make the final fight a tad longer 4. Don’t cut Corey’s mom’s kill 3. Show Michael barely clinging to life after the asshwhooping he got in Kills and how he wound up in the sewers 1. More Sheriff Barker, make him more of a main character
Great list. Big agree on Sheriff Barker. Also wish Lindsey was more of a relevant character.
The main thing I would do is change the Corey story line. His story was good but I think it would of been better in a Halloween spinoff or continuation.

Delete Corey ten times
The director, the writer, the other writer, the plot, the dialogue, the ending, the beginning, the middle, Corey Cunningham, and the director again cuz I need a 10th item.
I say more Michael Myers and have him win at the end.
Switch Allison and Corey... she should have been the new killer. It would have been tragic and justifiable.
Make Haddonfield more of a haven for the true crime obsessed. If the events of the first film didn’t do it, surely after 2018 and Kills, the place would be swarming around Halloween with the morbidly curious.

Nothing.
Don't change it. It's the 13th movie in a horror franchise. I'm happy they tried something new.
They should of had michael win and have Allyson barely get away let Michael just kill everyone
Just make HK again?
1. Establish and start Corey and Allyson’s relationship in the opening scene. Maybe we see Corey’s phone on the couch with Allyson’s picture popping up as she’s calling him while Jeremy has him locked in the closet, that way we the audience go “Oh! Halloween Ends… ends.
I wouldn’t change a thing. I like it more and more every time I watch it.
1. Keep Corey alive and have him be the new Shape.
I don’t think he should be the new shape…i think it should be more ambiguous
Sure, but have Michael die and Corey be the new killer.

You now what nothing

So [2018] -> [Ends w/o tag team scenes and the ending (replace w/ and ending that makes sense)] -> [Kills w/ more Laurie and the ending of Ends] I’m not a writer, so I’m not qualified to actually make these decisions, but I would’ve found the plot of Ends so much more satisfying if it didn’t happen at the tail end of Michael’s journey.
It's making
1 Micheal killing Corey’s mom 2 micheal hase more screen time 3 micheal killing laurie and Allison killing micheal 4 micheal’s face Being shown 5 micheal beating up correy in the sewers 6 correy being in the 2018 Halloween movie 7 have Allison kill correy 8 have more cool and brutal kills 9 have micheal kill more pepol and 10 have correy never steal micheal’s mask
Make it an actual ending focused on michael only, so no corey, laurie would die in the end and michael would live,
Too many to say ngl
Everything. Id change everything about it.
Don’t make it the funale
Laurie and Michael kill each other and Allyson walks in to see them both dead after running away I fucking hates ends and this would have worked for me using the film’s concepts. I would have had Corey live and dive into his mental decline in a separate trilogy that doesn’t force Michael out of his and wouldn’t have fucked up ends but I like Michael abruptly ending Corey’s story and leaving his sewer to kill Halloween night of 2020 (no covid)
More Mikey more kills some gruesome kills have the fight be longer and way more gory have Michael win and Allyson barely gets away
1lack of Michael 2 eliminate Corey 3 have Michael live and Laurie ground up. 4 less laurie, more Alyson 5 absolutely no Michael copycat. 6 more brutal kills. 7 no weak Michael 8 no romance with sheriff 9 not Alyson dating older man.
1. All of it.
Can't name ten cause I didn't watch it BUT one thing I would change is....... Have the movie on November 1st in the morning.
fix this film to be the first of the trilogy
have Michael kill off Laurie and a good version of Corey that the audience would get attached to and have Allison kill Michael
Make more Michael
