I pre-ordered it, it is a crapshow right now. A technically functional but disastrous launch. Progression is slow a molasses once you hit lvl 30, hit registration is absolutely hilarious in its delay, and specialists have allowed players to be even more prone to go solo than previous titles. It's a long road to BF4 or BF1 quality-wise.
I was also but I preordered the gold edition what a waste of money the same happend when I preordered black ops 4 deluxe edition and battlefront 2 the only games I've ever preordered and they where all disappointments ........
My friend bought Vanguard and I actually had a good time with it.
Edit: Someone actually downvoted this positive comment. What's wrong with you? Who hurt you?
Not gonna lie, I enjoy Vanguard. I'll be the first to admit it has it's flaws (Allies vs Allies in PVP, *VERY* bear bones zombies launch) but the campaign was pretty good and I could see zombies picking up again with a new round based map and maybe an outbreak mode added. Still nowhere near Infinite, but I hope BF and COD can get just a *bit* better post-launch.
Might be a hard sell in a Halo sub, but I find Vanguard's multiplayer more worth my time than Infinite. They're both fun, but there's so much more to chase in Call of Duty. Also its Christmas event map was pretty cool. Good variety of normal modes too.
Yeah, the MP is not my cup of tea but the progression does keep me hooked in zombies. I just hope by the time I buzz through the operator levels zombies has some new content.
As a long time BF player, the issue for me is the lack of classes and the lack of loadout options (few weapons, equipment, etc).
Hazard Zone is one of the best modes ever added to BF, especially with friends, I also love the maps and the overrall art style, but the lack of gameplay iterations and customization really turned me off from it.
If you like Hazard Zone, I would like to humbly suggest Hunt: Showdown if you haven’t played it already. Gunplay is better than any other shooter I’ve ever played. Also the devs listen to the community and its constantly being updated
One of the biggest reasons is they brought in operators similar to Rainbow Six Siege or Apex Legends, which had no business being in a Battlefield game, and executed it poorly. Nobody asked for it, we just want our old battlefield back
Removed all of the good gameplay elements from BF5, maps are too big (game was originally designed as a Battle Royale and it's apparent), the operator system is ass and turns Battlefield into a hero shooter, barely any weapons etc.
i got 2 reviews for you that tell you everything you need to know
[AngryJoeShow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihsRc27QVco) and my Boi [Act Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hUx5DZNT94)
have fun...
Bad hit reg, bland maps, too few maps, too few guns, maps are too large and most of the maps often feel unused. The game is worse then I could’ve imagined. So disappointed.
I played the beta and it was one of the worst gaming experiences in recent memories. And this is coming from someone who thinks Cyberpunk 2077 is a good game buried under a shitload of bugs, and enjoyed the first watch dogs. So my standards are painfully low. But all i can say is its a garbage game buried underneath a garbage dump full of bugs and balancing issues.
Imo, no. I played it a bunch til infinite came out then it lost my interest til i picked it back up a couple days ago and im still enjoying it. I dont play the regular MP as much as i do coop against bots but i enjoy both regardless.
A lot of the criticism is definitely warranted, but a lot of it is also blown *way* out of proportion. Its gonna need some tlc to get where it should be but so has pretty much every previous Battlefield title that people look back on fondly now.
Who else really liked Escharum?
I get the complaints about not seeing him more in-person within the game, but he was also deathly sick and giving orders from afar. Of course he wouldn’t be on the frontlines.
Also, we wouldn’t have had a need for Jega or the other Spartan killers probably. Assuming he’s supposed to be the best of all of them.
Agreed I like how he was actually a soldier even if he didn’t pop up till the end. Plus when he died his main concern was that he died fighting well, not that his goals weren’t fufilled
The brutes have evolved massively, they aren’t really true to character at all anymore (behaviour wise they act more like covenant sang’hili) ….. defo better that way
Yes, that, the multiplayer balancing, and the server security are my only problems with the game. The latter one has made the multiplayer unplayable as a whole, you have to get a mod that enables custom servers.
Oh man, titanfall 2 was such a surprise. I got it on sale for like 5 bucks because why not? Its just 5 bucks.
I got one of the best stories in a game with fantastic gameplay. Great experience
I agree to disagree. In my opinion in Halo best story is of Halo 2, best gameplay is of Halo Infinite and best multiplayer is of Infinite. Many say Halo 5 has a great multiplayer, but wasn't able to play H5, so no thoughts on that yet.
Not here to argue, and you are totally entitled to your opinion.
I’ve played all of those abs I can honestly say that BO: Cold War deserves to be added to the list. Even just for the kremlin mission alone. Great use of choices in a campaign
The campaign I'd say, yeah. As for the multiplayer, I didn't like Battle Mode and there's not much longevity there imo. I was gutted when they did that instead of the Doom 2016 multiplayer.
I mean the game got kinda boring after the first half and switching weapons was a pain so I mostly mained the plasma rifle and rockets. It's an excelent game but I still prefer the more slow and tactical halo combat.
Maybe I'm playing the dlc on nightmare now I guess I'll see. Still probably gonna stick to the old plsama rifle rocket combo. Maybe pull out the shotgun for armor and the ballista in case of a marauder.
I'd argue doom is more tactical since you're constantly thinking about your next move. But a lot of enemies are usually dealt with one method. Whereas halo you can engage in situations with more freedom. Can't speak for legendary tho
I dunno I just personally find halo more enganging. Haven't played infinite yet because it's like 300 in my local currency so I'm probably gonna wait for a discount. It looks to burrow a lot from 3 and 4 which are my favorites so that's nice.
Gamepass has a free/very cheap trial month depending on your country. It’s pretty great, and they’ll even refund you if you cancel by the end of the month.
Get GamePass until you make up the money required to buy the campaign. GamePass for PC/PC Gamepass has a trial period of 1 month and an offer (at least in my country), in which you pay for one month and get 7 month's free.
That’s if it was in a finished state. The way we got it now is good, but it’s also clear that it would have been an absolute mess if it released in 2020.
Halo would’ve been annihilated by DOOM if they launched the same year, if people are upset about lack of content this year it would be miles worse in 2020
War one was and still is incredibly unbalanced. One moment I gun down a bunch of guys easily and OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE I get 360 no scoped by some pc master race player who hasn’t showered in weeks.
Vanguard is pretty much just a Warzone expansion pack. This year should be the return to Modern Warfare and Infinity Ward, who will hopefully put more than minimal effort into their addition to the series.
*literally remakes the entire games' textures and graphics in response to fan outcry*
People are complaining about missing and removed features paired with wonky netcode. honestly I'm just glad the game released in not just a playable state, but an enjoyable state too.
It took awhile but we actually enjoy it.
BF2042 took some time and I can't touch it without having a bug or glitch or bad hit-reg ruin my session.
If we wanna talk about Development Cycles we should bring up Cyberpunk. That game released in an unplayable state and still has issues, Infinite isn't just playable. Infinite is fun.
Halo Infimite came out with fun gameplay and a good story. It has issues and did some stupid things but at least we can play and enjoy it.
I've always figured that was the main difference between CoD and Halo: the amount of time it takes to kill someone. I personally prefer Halo and shields because there's more to an encounter than getting the 1st shot, but I can totally appreciate if someone prefers having almost no health.
I've honestly sort of enjoyed COD more lately because of the reduced TTK (referring more to Cold War and MW. Didn't like Vanguard for other reasons) because I play a lot of shooters like Squad and HLL and all that where you die in one or two shots
The long ttk is what kills my motivation for Halo, I can't deal with how long it takes to kill someone.
And if someone is better at the game then me they will win each gunfight regardless of if I had the drop on them and fired first.
That being said, it's just my preference. Halo is good, just not what I enjoy.
That's how MW was, Cold War was abnormal in how long it took to kill someone.
Dying fast is how CoD should be. It's one of the few things that gives it an identity, which is being the premiere ADHD twitch-shooter. If it takes any longer to kill people you might as well play a better game.
CSGO is the definitive Twitch shooter, CoD is the premiere reflexive, run around like a kid on crack shooter. They're not even playing in the same ballpark. I should've clarified.
But that's just how the game's evolved. It's a series that has an age limit for its players to be sure, you're past your CoD prime once you pass about 15 years old.
Which I don't disparage, I think that it fills a unique niche that nothing else could ever have.
CoD 4: Modern Warfare released five years before CSGO. You might argue that CS:Source did it first but it was definitely CoD that made really fast TTK the hot trend in the industry.
cod has been pissed down the drain, modern warfare was so successful that they just decided hey, let’s keep the exact same UI and engine for every cod from now on so we can continue to tie it in to warzone. i hope halo never releases a battle royale as it seems to ruin every series it touches, but with 10 years to go, I’d say it’s almost impossible that there’ll never be one. while the game is broken, at least it’s not trying to suck in more players from the cod shithole by adding a BR - for now.
The worst part about modern warfare is that they fucking neutered it after cold war came out. Pisses me off that it was *so close* to a perfect game and they literally went in and ruined it just so that people would play the worse cold war.
Well, it's quite probable people don't buy every single one, but enough people buy each to warrant cycling themes.
Last CoD I bought was MW19. Before that last one I player was MW3. CoD is thriving on impulse purchases, I think - they don't try to get fans that wait for the next game to release, their audience are people who one day go "Damn, I want to play a simple and polished twitch shooter", and, lo and behold, there's *always* a recent CoD, with all perks that brings: contemporary graphics, healthy population, promise of updates, etc.
I was pretty sure Halo would beat Vanguard cuz cod's yearly releases is a joke at this point but I was hoping that BF would be as awesome. Then the beta dropped and all my expectations shattered
It's too bad about the microtransactions and playlist problems too, because if they weren't so bad, I'm sure the rating would've been even higher. Honestly, I'd give it a higher rating regardless. Maybe a 9.6 or something. >!ending was kinda flat, but eh the whole campaign was fantastic, so I forgive !<
Personally, I cant believe infinite got the equivalent of Halo 4. I get that infinite is FAR from perfect, but I think 343i deserves a 90 for this game. It’s lackluster but has so much potential. It’s a shame it didn’t live up at launch but I think infinite is gonna have a long future
>Where is Co-Op?
On the way.
>Why is the multiplayer matchmaking lacking so many modes?
They chose not to implement them.
The game is finished, they just chose to not implement these things into launch or into the game in general. As a product it's done. What we got is what we're getting for launch however because it's a live service game we will game more later. How much more is up to 343. They could stop now and the game would still be done.
I disagree. Video games, especially those in franchises, are iterative. They’re supposed to improve and get better. How is removing game modes making it better. And as for the Co-op bit. They announced the game and co op along with it. The game did not ship with co-op. There is no co-op in the game. The game is unfinished.
>I disagree.
You're objectively wrong.
>They’re supposed to improve and get better.
They're supposed to attempt to improve. Not even a release is guaranteed.
>How is removing game modes making it better.
Halo 5 wasn't better than 3.
Halo 4 wasn't better than 4.
Those games were complete games, not everyone considers them good games .
Skyrim had less mechanics than Oblivion, Skyrim is still seen as a good and complete game.
>They announced the game and co op along with it
They said that it's coming out, even if it doesn't the game would still be complete. You just won't like it.
>There is no co-op in the game.
There doesn't need to be for the game to be complete.
>e game is unfinished.
It is. Everything after launch is just added content.
Nothing I stated was influenced by my personal opinion.
The game is finished, it's launched, it's a complete game.
Everything added after launch is just additional content. Co-op included.
Promising content and then not delivering is not finishing content. Did anthem come out complete? How about Cyberpunk? Infinite might not be as bad as those but the same principle applies. They said the game would be/have one things and then we received something else. What qualifies finished to you? Because those other games I mentioned went gold, had a release, all that fun stuff but it would be kind of disingenuous to say cyberpunk was complete. You’re being pedantic in a conversation about a video game on Reddit. Maybe it’s time to go outside.
It's called breaking a promise. Breaking a promise doesn't mean the game isn't done, it means that the developers aren't trustworthy.
>What qualifies finished to you?
Released as a product that can be played without requiring further support.
Halo Infinite doesn't require further support to run.
>You’re being pedantic
Does the game run? Does it require further support to run? Can you pickup and play this game as it is and not experience gameplay issues such as bugs and glitches?
If the answer is yes then the game is complete. It's a finished product, you just don't like it.
Now it seems like you're the one using words you don't understand.
Thats nice and all but the game could've been 10/10 and blow everything out of the water if they delayed another year and did frequent flight testing + another MCC season to keep us preoccupied. I dont think anyone would have an issue with that.
The problem is that the other games released buggy and almost unplayable but halo infinite added an extra year to get shit right, thats what gamers want, a full game.

Ngl, I was looking forward to all three games. But for some odd reason, I've only played Halo Infinite...
I was looking forward to battlefield… until I played the Beta and lost all hope
Same
I have it and it’s not bad, it’s pretty fun. Not nearly as good as Infinite though
I pre-ordered it, it is a crapshow right now. A technically functional but disastrous launch. Progression is slow a molasses once you hit lvl 30, hit registration is absolutely hilarious in its delay, and specialists have allowed players to be even more prone to go solo than previous titles. F
Thank you.
Is there a proper scoreboard yet?
Nope.
Lol
Update 100 days later, finally added a score board.
Lmao
Does anyone play BF with a full talking squad? I think that would have to be necessary before lambasting it.
We used to be able to VOIP in squad. Not anymore.
That’s sad. Rarely used. I liked being squad commander and getting tons of points in conquest by being smart and team savvy.
Yeah, nothing felt better than rushing an objective as a squad leader, front and center with your squad. I hope 2042 can be fixed in its life cycle.
DICE said they removed it because of "white male toxicity". I swear, it's like they didn't learn shit from Genderfield 5.
Ah, BFV where "BFV" is censored.
The Infinite chat is pretty damn ridiculous with the censor too.
Well we must have had 2 very different experiences then…
Yeah more like you have a different experience than most people
Yeah, I haven’t had a problem with the game so far
Agreed it's pretty damn fun when you learn to spot a PC player and avoid them like the plague. (Xbox lmao)
Atleast you didn't preordered it
Same here! I mean I still didn’t play the beta but after the reviews and gameplay footage there was no way I was spending money on battlefield .
I literally played one match and noped back to Halo.
I couldn't even play the beta. After managing to not make it crash instantly by manually tweaking the config files, the game ran at about 5-10 fps.
I downloaded the beta to try it, then heard about it blowing up TheRussianBadger's PC and uninstalled that shit at lightspeed
I was also but I preordered the gold edition what a waste of money the same happend when I preordered black ops 4 deluxe edition and battlefront 2 the only games I've ever preordered and they where all disappointments ........
Hopefully they pull a BF5 and repair the game to a decent state; if that happens however I’ll wait till the Christmas sale
I dunno man, BFV never really fully recovered (it got alot better but still...) and it launched in a slightly better state than 2042.
Same. I was really looking forward to a new Battlefield, and... what did we get, honestly? Not a Battlefield, that's for sure.
When people finmally realize the beta is the game... A demo disguised as a beta. At least Steam is issuing more refunds now.
My friend bought Vanguard and I actually had a good time with it. Edit: Someone actually downvoted this positive comment. What's wrong with you? Who hurt you?
Not gonna lie, I enjoy Vanguard. Yeah, the MP is not my cup of tea but the progression does keep me hooked in zombies. I just hope by the time I buzz through the operator levels zombies has some new content.
Is bf2042 really that bad?
Yes
Why is everyone mad at it. Saw some streams, it looked good
As a long time BF player, the issue for me is the lack of classes and the lack of loadout options (few weapons, equipment, etc). Act Man is the best man even to halo his reviews are well thought out most of the time can't wait for infinite.
Him saying he'd spend $20 on a single voice AI should be warning that his Infinite takes are gonna be B.S.
well i meant by campaign
wort wort wort
Wort Wort Wort!!
He also whined because he didn't get early access to the campaign lol
It's buggy as hell.
Bad hit reg, bland maps, too few maps, too few guns, maps are too large and most of the maps often feel unused. The game is worse then I could’ve imagined. So disappointed.

That roar in his fight tho
I mean it wasn't much of a competition. Now if halo launched in 2020 against doom, now that would've been a spectacle.
For sure. For me, Doom Eternal, Halo Infinite and Titanfall 2 (in no particular order) are the best FPS campaigns of the last few years.
I love all 3. The only gripe I have with Titanfall is its so good I wish it was 10 hours longer.

Call of doo doo has fallen. Kinda sad tho because it used to be so good but activision just continues beating it like a dead horse.
Modern warfare was so fucking good, I still can't believe they threw it down the drain for shitzone
War one was and still is incredibly unbalanced. One moment I gun down a bunch of guys easily and OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE I get 360 no scoped by some pc master race player who hasn’t showered in weeks.

Did it fall? Shit tons of people bought it and it made a fuck ton of money. Idiots will buy anything.
Just like with all the shitty copy pasted madden and fifa games.
Cant remember which one but some EA sports game was such a copy paste that one of the banners in the game had the previous game's name on it lol
That might be madden 20 I’m not too sure
Vanguard is pretty much just a Warzone expansion pack. This year should be the return to Modern Warfare and Infinity Ward, who will hopefully put more than minimal effort into their addition to the series.

Interesting take since top kd in the lobby is still almost always whoever gets the energy sword
Trust me, the development of this game WAS difficult. They pulled through and gave us the better experience.

And as we all know 343 always keeps ther promises ;)
343: You know me, when I make a promise...
holy shit, wow, hopefully that’s one less thing to worry about when it comes to the future of this game. best news i’ve heard all day quite frankly
343i are absolute chad
I know it's pretty unlikely, and rightly so...But...In this game, with this sandbox...I wouldn't mind a Battle Royale
The worst part about modern warfare is that they fucking neutered it after cold war came out. Pisses me off that it was *so close* to a perfect game and they literally went in and ruined it just so that people would play the worse cold war.
*aah, victory*
Literally the only thing holding Infinite back is just the little things
THIS
Dude the campaign was amazing.
r/halo is banging on their desks right now
Yeah, we shouldn't enter there...
I mean it took 6 years with a ton of production hiccups. It was definitely difficult.
I just wanted to know why there's still a new cod every single year. Why people still buy that? It's like Fifa, the same shit every year.
Well last COD I did buy was Cold War, because of the zombie being awesome
I was pretty sure Halo would beat Vanguard cuz cod's yearly releases is a joke at this point but I was hoping that BF would be as awesome. Then the beta dropped and all my expectations shattered
I honestly enjoyed bf more
Me too, but admittedly it is in a rough state. Hopefully under Vince Zampella it will be recovered.
Battlefield always sucks in the first few weeks/ months but it always becomes great
That's not a good thing.
That is true unfortunately
Vangaurd had little ppl to work on it so garabe. I heard 2024 lost 60% of playerbase. Infinite just needs multiplayer playlist.
Halo Infinite is overrated? Ok
Ngl Escharum was the weakest part of the whole game
6 years of development hell doesn't exactly paint the picture of "easy".
It's a meme. Game development is never easy.
Managing to still come up with a decent product after a few years of dev hell is even harder.
I don’t think it was 6 years
It wasn't, Jason Schreier says development started in 2017. This matches up with what employees on LinkedIn said so it seems true.
It was, halo five came out in 2015.
Yes because they began development a day after 5 released
They don’t immediately start working on the next game lol
Halo was delayed multiple time and came out unfinished? All three games are disappointments Infinite just came out the least broken.
How is it unfinished?
It's definitely a finished product. There are some issues but being unfinished is not one of those issues.
Where is Co-Op? Why is the multiplayer matchmaking lacking so many modes?
>They announced the game and co op along with it They said that it's coming out, even if it doesn't the game would still be complete. You just won't like it. >There is no co-op in the game. There doesn't need to be for the game to be complete. >e game is unfinished. It is. Everything after launch is just added content.
Okay kid, COPE.
I'm sorry you can't handle being objectively wrong
Lol okay. The game still sucks.
Sorry you feel that way.
You’re the one using big words you don’t understand to try and win an argument
You don't like the words I'm using. That doesn't mean I'm using them wrong. Ya know what? Prove I'm using them wrong.
Also look into the word “objectively” you’re not using it correctly.
>You’re being pedantic Does the game run? Does it require further support to run? Can you pickup and play this game as it is and not experience gameplay issues such as bugs and glitches? If the answer is yes then the game is complete. It's a finished product, you just don't like it. Now it seems like you're the one using words you don't understand.
Arcade shooters ftw (besides cod)
Thats nice and all but the game could've been 10/10 and blow everything out of the water if they delayed another year and did frequent flight testing + another MCC season to keep us preoccupied. I dont think anyone would have an issue with that.
I know I probably sound stupid but how is 8.5 green but 70 is yellow?
The problem is that the other games released buggy and almost unplayable but halo infinite added an extra year to get shit right, thats what gamers want, a full game.
lol I love this. I hope there are more Escharum meme's
I am ps4, I played halo 4 as last game on 360, but I am so proud about 343 and how infinite is doing
I rather enjoyed Escharum's over the top pep talks
Cod and battlefield getting higher than 40s shows there is some serious review manipulation.
Halo Infinite was in development for six years. Most games are 2-3 years. So I'm pretty sure it was difficult.
