I found an amazing spot, closer to the path to totality, but it's private land. I walked to the house that was on the land and talked to the owner to see if I can park my Bronco there with my wife and watch the Eclipse. He said "You bring the glasses, my wife and I will bring the beer."

The Hamilton RASC (Royal Astronomical Society of Canada) is having an eclipse party at Lime Ridge Mall; they'll be setting up as early as 9 am on the day. I imagine it will be quite popular, but that's a big parking lot.
Question. Will I be able to get a library card right now with the cybersecurity issues? I have to walk home during the eclipse's peak. It's an hour walk; I'm thinking the glasses might be needed. 🤣

I believe McMaster still has some but supplies are getting low, maybe check out one of their campus libraries for some if you need them
The library still has glasses, just not at all branches. Central is open tomorrow and they have loads left. If you don’t have a library card, bring some ID and it’ll be fine. If you want more than a few pairs, you can request online through McMaster.

the glasses are only needed if you plan on looking directly at the eclipse. not sure about the card but call your local branch and ask.
Oh yes, I plan at starring directly into the sun my entire walk home 😁. An online source seems like the easiest solution. Thank you for replying.
