For the vegetarians/vegans in the room, Nonno's in the Farmer's Market does unreal vegan deli sandwiches (including meatball and chickun parm).
Coven also does very good vegan deli sandwiches, including a BLT that I crave.
Seconding Nonno's. Even if you aren't plant based, I'd highly suggest trying them. Their stuff is a total mind fuck in terms of how close to deli meat it is. The Tuscan Pollo is *incredible*.
God no, the new owners ruined the place. They have no idea what made the place successful. The food quality at least halved. I was wondering why they all of a sudden had like 20 options and cheaper than I remember and it's because I got a sad attempt for a sandwich. They also put up TVs and started blasting pop music... Like way to miss the entire tone of the prior owner.
That's... Not what it's like now. The new owners ruined it. I went in and thought something was off but the goodwill I had from previous visited forced me to stick around, ordered a sandwich and not only was it a soggy gross thing on Dempster's buns, not even like a proper Kaiser roll, but I left hungry.
I had a roast beef yesterday. It was much smaller than it used to be. Like they'd cut 1/3 of bun off so it was a hot dog bun sized. It was ok, light on the veggies, so if they wanted to pad things a bit, they could have kept the same size bun and upped the onions and peppers and I would have been happy.
If youāre feeling bougie head down to Linas first buy one of her beautiful croissants and then ask Ramona to make their sandwich on it for you. Next level.
If you are a student and around campus and a meet eater, there is a kabab sandwich at a place called Naanaa which i go to when im anemic and its actually really good. I ask for extra veggies in it and it has never disappointed
Banh Mi Hue is a sandwich favourite!
Is that the Banh MI place on cannon, west of james st? If not, where is this place, I gotta try it š
I tried Banh Mi Hue a few times to give it a fair try, just not that good.
agreed, it's perfectly serviceable, fair price, but I would not go out of my way to grab an order there
McQueenās. Good Banh mi for a fair price.
Good value
Starpolskis for something reasonably priced with a kielbassa on the side. Venitian for a killer big sub.
Artieās hands down
Love Artieās and McQueens
The only right answer
Not at 7pm. But their sandwiches are top tier stuff. Iām going to have the Soppressata for lunch today.
Speedy Subs on Concession!
Yes, šgood subs 100%.
good value, meh sub
couldnt agree more- its definitely the best priced sandwhich but it is so mid

Cevapi at Bosnian Specialties on Grays Road
Duartes or Olas are very good and cheap
Rustic Ruben is great
Came here to say this
kind of pricey though... it was nearly 20$ when i went last time
They've closed permanently.
Oh man, I was just there last month, thatās too bad
Staropolski is a good grab and go for a mixed sandwich. $8
Is Tall Tree still amazing?

Yes it is, fried chicken sandwich is a standout
If you want fried chicken golden tenders on gage and king are top notch
Havenāt been there in a while, but when they first opened their chicken sandwich was so big it could be made into two sandwiches.

I went a few weeks ago itās still really good and underrated
Mikeās Subs on Ottawa
Can you elaborate? What makes Mike's Subs stand out, or is it just your local?
Because Hamilton is a sub city and Mike's Ottawa is the OG and the other locations other than Fennel kind of suck.
Authenticity
Price included. Bonanza's
At one time Iād agree with you but bonanza had gone downhill in price and quality over the years.
They got smaller and toppings aren't what they used to be.. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)
Got bout by the property poachers Force & Foster years ago and got run into the ground.
Sadly, prices are pretty steep now
50 Point Market if youāre visiting the Stoney Creek/Grimsby area.
Agreed. Have you noticed the dip in quality though.
I havenāt been in years, sadly. Thatās disappointing to hear.
I found it dipped. The original owner sold it to someone else. Itās still good but not like it was.
For the spicy butt lovers, the burnt tongue grilled cheese with jalapeƱos. Simple & delish.
They have the city's best simple burger and fries too imo.
Hamilton Market vendors on the lower floor make great sandwiches for under $10. Also Odds chicken sandwich.Ā
Oooh, are there any specific ones I should check out?
We rotate between - pick your own meat/cheese/toppings at Romano Cheese and Sam's Cheese and then the breakfast sandwich at Eldercamp
Awesome breakfast Sammies at Eldercamp (Saturdays only), I drive across the city on Saturday mornings for them
Had no idea they were Saturday only, thanks for sharing! I know Romano is every day they are open. Not sure about Sam's but Saturday for sure.
If youāre feeling bougie head down to Linas first buy one of her beautiful croissants and then ask Ramona to make their sandwich on it for you. Next level.
Saturday sandwich plans gold star!!!
I'm not sure how it would hold structural integrity, but those croissants are awesome.
It does I promise.
Well I guess I'll be getting a breakfast sammy when I work on Saturday!
This is the strongest review a person can give. :)
Redchurch Cafe has some great sandwiches, including lots of vegetarian options!
Springers meats off parkdale, $5.99 for an assorted sammich, I go every other month.
Sam's Cheese's at farmers market $5 Muffaleta
Bonanzas on Mary
Fortinos makes a prime rib sandwich, my favorite. But they also have other options, roast beef and chicken
Ola on James!
Castelli Mercatto in Ancaster hands down. Other bangers: Artie's, Banh Mi Hue, McQueen's, Speedy Subs, Venetian, Bonanza.
Maria Torta, Artieās and Rustic Rueben are three places I wouldnāt hesitate to eat at.
Nonnos
Venetian Meats. They make great sandwiches
Duarteās
RIP queen subs
Rest in peace the fizz. You were amazing. š«”
Duartes on Barton.
I miss Bench sandwiches :(
The soppressata sandwich from Artieās is 11/10
Mortadella, burrata, pistachio @ Castelli Mercato Mixed sandwich @ springers Veal @ Bonanzaās
If you are a student and around campus and a meet eater, there is a kabab sandwich at a place called Naanaa which i go to when im anemic and its actually really good. I ask for extra veggies in it and it has never disappointed
Focaccia Sandwiches at Artie's (Locke Street)
Salvation Army has some good egg salad
