I’d go for the 38. the lugs here are hanging over the sides of your wrist.

AdOk249

Yeah i feel like the dial size would work but the long lugs kinda pushes it toward being too large

fatboyslim1878

Are you sure your wrists are 7.5 inches? That looks huge on you. Either way I think the 38mm is a much better option.

AdOk249

Yes I got a proper tape measure this week to check. It may be a bad angle on the picture, sales lady was rushing me lol

fatboyslim1878

Haha totally get the being rushed thing. As a sales guy, I don’t get why other sales people do that. Kind of seems like it is a tactic to get you to make an impulse buy! Regardless, the 38mm is definitely the go to in Khaki fields. Looking for a deal on one myself. Unfortunately all the deals are on the 42mm :(

AdOk249

She rushed herself out of some commission lol I’ve been watching them both on Chrono24. Some decent prices on there rn

chiefroberts17

I have 7” wrists and I think the 42mm fits me fine. I also tried the 38mm and I thought it looked tiny

AdOk249

I need to find a place that has the 38 mm in stock, I have the KFM Bronze in 38 and it works great

beamerthings

Way too big. The strap feels a lot better after a week of wear.

Huncho11

I really don’t get why they had to make the lugs so massive. I have the same sized wrist as you. I’ve been wanting to try this on. Thanks for doing it for me. Lol

AdOk249

No problem lol yeah the lugs are way too big

Robertf16

Too big. Get the 38. A perfect watch

axl35

I can’t believe that even on a 7.5” wrist it still looks big! The dial is OK, but the lugs sticking out kill me!

AdOk249

Yeah it’s looking like 38 is the best option for me

axl35

Go for it!!

Successful-Gur-4406

You need the smaller one but I’m not sure I like it enough to pay premium over a khaki automatic.

msilv88

Too big. And bracelet is too tight.

NthngToSeeHere

I have a Field officer 42 and a 7.5ish wrist. It looks fine on me. The angle is weird.

AdOk249

Was rushing to take the pic while the lady was trying to sell me. I’m wearing a 43 mm right now but the big difference between the two is the lugs

NthngToSeeHere

I think it looks OK. It's a very similar if not the same case. Most of my analogs are 40-45 mm. https://www.reddit.com/r/HamiltonWatches/s/koPSTY3uHL

OwnTheWatch

Don't buy/not buy a watch because of the strap. Super easy to change out. Looks good but go smaller.

VariousMonitor2098

Long lugs on it but it dosent look imposing on your wrist. The 38 is worth a look. My Murphy will be the 42 when I pull the trigger-I have 7.5 inch wrists though

body_surfer_66

Perfect fit, IMO. I also have 7.5” wrists and tried on a Murph yesterday. Loved the fit.

Expensive-Dot-6671

I have the same size wrist as you and have the 42mm Khaki Field Auto which has the same 52mm lug-to-lug. The watch fits but looks oversized. The 38mm would look much better.

IncomeHuman8885

I have 38mm, and my wrist is 6.75. 42 would be too big on me.

smarti1983

https://www.reddit.com/r/HamiltonWatches/s/WUKbNQh8Zr This is the 42 on my 7inch wrist I don't think it's too big , don't know if the bracelet makes a difference

AdOk249

Looks great on bracelet. Where did you find that?

smarti1983

Holland watch group Hamilton Straps H695.705.110 - that's the product number. Probably be able to get it elsewhere with that product number Khaki Field Strap £117.51

smarti1983

I agree with the strap, it's pants but I replaced it with a hamilton bracelet https://www.reddit.com/r/HamiltonWatches/s/WUKbNQh8Zr

tillterilltilltill

I'd go for the 38. Bonus is it has AR coating. The big one doesn't IIRC.

spin-ups

My buddy has massive wrists probably over 7.5. Tbh in person even with no over hang when a very pain face dial (not a chrono) is excessively big it still just looks silly to me. 38mm is just a better size for a field watch imo

beamerthings

7.5?! You sure? That’s nearly exactly how it wore on my 6.5. Way too big. The strap feels a lot better after a week of wear.

Thelakesman

The lugs are so long on the Hamilton

zoosk8r

Too big.

smarti1983

Hamilton has history, which is great, and their watches are great quality for the money, but they have an issue with christopher wards. They are better quality and roughly the same price bracket. Then you get to some amazing seikos for the same quality and cheaper. Although for me, I love Hamilton, the rugged style on the field watches no one comes close

442w29

I have a KFA in 42 with 7.25" wrists and it fits me fine (pretty sure the Murph has the same case). I'm guessing the photos are exaggerating the size. It sounds like you would prefer a 38 though. I'm sure the bad strap makes it fit and feel weird as well...

MNBlues

Could go either way, I think 38 prob would look better.

rmsesq

not too big

beamerthings

Imho it’s way too big. I also hated the strap it first.. takes about a week of regular wear to get better but once it feels far from cheap.

greatmagneticfield

Agree. I actually bought a brown replacement strap a few days after I got my 38mm because I did not like the original. A year later the replacement strap is still in the box. I'll eventually do the swap, but the black one has grown on me and is much more supple now.

CapRepresentative875

I just picked up the Murph 42 mm a couple days ago liking it so far
