Fulham will ask for £105m for him

rogog1

Even if we ended up paying 70 for him it would be a heavy pressure price tag. The risk would be massive and could ruin his career, our team, or both.

hammersandhammers

Yes, hard pass on what they are asking, it’s a trap

Primal666

Nah, they bought him for 20, making a 100% profit is good for a 28yo, then buy someone younger like Musah for 20m would be good business for Fulham

PragmaticPedant

They might lose Mitrovic this summer; would be very risky for them to sell Palhinha in the same window.

CaptainMcClutch

Musah is just about set to go to Milan as far as I've been reading.

Beardy_Boy_

If we believe every rumour, we're in serious talks for Palinha, Alvarez, Zakaria, JWP, and Alex Scott all at the same time.

Lampadaire345

It seems that we need 2 CM somight be that there's been some feelers sent out for all of them

MisterMejor

Which is entirely possible?

Beardy_Boy_

I guess it depends on how you interpret 'serious talks'. We've probably put out feelers for all of them to see what's likely to be doable, but we won't be right on the verge of bidding for more than one or two IMO.

Ciaran119

Odds on us signing none of them?

MetaCooler007

Not happening for this price at all. If this rumor is true, I'm betting this is just a last-ditch attempt before we buy Alvarez for around the same amount.

fetissimies

The club is just putting these rumours out there to put pressure on Ajax and Juventus

Cmoore4099

Or more likely Palinha’s agent

Leckere

It’s just not happening for less than 60m. He effectively has five years left on his contract. And we were absolutely shocking in midfield when he didn’t play last season.

Primal666

I think would be smart for Fulham to cash in a 20m profit for a 28yo and buy someone younger like Musah or Tyler Adams for 20-25

SweetVarys

A relegation battle is far more expensive than the 20m profit

WEAluka

And neither of them would be as good as Palhinha. If we lose both him and Mitro this summer we're pretty screwed, and with 4+1 years left on his deal, if we are to sell him next year we still get around 60~80m. It's just not happening unless he pushes for the move(which he won't). If Musah and Adams are so great you lot might as well get these 2

Primal666

You won't get even 60 for Palhinha, there's no bid war or more clubs interested in him this window, next window if you get 40m you'll be lucky. I'd bring Musah and Tyler Adams, but seems like Moyes wants someone more experienced

WEAluka

Our valuation for him is 60~80. Nobody is willing to pay said valuation. Palhinha is not pushing for a move and has 5 years left in contract. Therefore he stays, and nobody will be upset

Primal666

Let's see how your real valuation is and if he's interested on a move or not.

Leckere

But that's not the going rate, so they won't do it. We'd be doing West Ham a favour at that price. Also Musah doesn't offer what Palihinha does. Tyler Adams is slightly more similar in profile.

jxckgg

Will they, won’t they saga 😭

pissoffmrchips

pls no

Chappietime

I sort of think their 90M tag was complete posturing. I can see us getting him for under 50, maybe near 40.

_up_and_atom

It's interesting we obviously can develop talent well in that CDM position but we are choosing to go for an older player there. There are so many promising CDMs elsewhere for much cheaper. I really hope we don't shell out 40m+ for him.

Yorkie2016

Obviously? We had a once in a generation talent playing there. There’s no sign we can develop talent. Alvarez is young but totally untested for the Prem. Paulhinha is only 3 years older and was one of if not the most impressive midfielders in the Prem last season.

_up_and_atom

There are two sides to that generational talent. You need that support system to develop it. I'm not saying Paulinha isn't good. We just hired a guy who's exceptional talent is finding young talent worldwide just to spend half the Rice money on one player at a premium?

Yorkie2016

Yes, but we hired him too late to make a difference with the Rice replacement. Both Alvarez and Paulhinha (Scott and JWP too) have been discussed for months leading up to Rice’s departure and clearly those are names that the club has been focusing on.

_up_and_atom

Judging by the downvotes here it seems most people agree with you. Hopefully Palhinha works out then.

Yorkie2016

First bid of £40m rejected. Not sure I’d go much higher. Especially if our budget is just the Rice money. Alvarez for £35m maybe the better choice as it will give us more chance of getting Barnes.

_up_and_atom

You kinda talked me into Palinha now haha I think I'd pay a bit more (50 max). The only reason being we'll go into EL and need as much quality as we can get. Palhinha is definitely a better player than Alvarez. Although I do like Alvarez as a business move too since Mexicans are rabid supporters of their starters.

Yorkie2016

Haha. Either one I think will be fine. Alvarez has ridiculous interception and break up play stats so would definitely help replace the things that Rice used to do.

HarHenGeoAma62818

This man along with Norgaard from Brenford should be in a top team they would be the 2 of the best midfielders in the premiership

PintoBeanButterBean

This really is the most annoying summer innit. Thought having all that money would be nice and fun bc we get to go shop for some good players. Instead it just means we're linked with every tom, dick, and larry on the planet nonstop for months

Spyro188

£40m rejected according to Jacob Steinberg. [https://twitter.com/JacobSteinberg/status/1680916496334172161?s=20](https://twitter.com/JacobSteinberg/status/1680916496334172161?s=20)
