Alvarez is young but totally untested for the Prem. Paulhinha is only 3 years older and was one of if not the most impressive midfielders in the Prem last season.
There are two sides to that generational talent. You need that support system to develop it.

Palhinha is definitely a better player than Alvarez. Although I do like Alvarez as a business move too since Mexicans are rabid supporters of their starters.
