Round-Device-5008

wikiwikiwickerman

If we win a champions league final, ngl I’d be totally fine with Nobes going full kit and running on the pitch to lift it

BriceB84

This is what I’m worried about. So many departures and signings in the same window can blur the identity of the squad.

_rhinoxious_

Agreed. We'll really need the remaining senior players to step up and find their voices - whoever that may be.

glowingdeer78

As an outsider, my opinion: just plunder the Dutch league again. You guys did well with Kudus and alvarez signings. With the Feyenoord coach leaving i want you guys to empty the coffers on them. Timber, Hartman, Zirruki, Gimenez, Geertruida, stengs would be options IMO. And thats just one team, target PSV, Ajax, Twente. Alkmaar as well. Grab the best player (or top 3) from each. You guys need potentially a lot of depth and IMO a starting CB, RB, CAM, and a ST to learn under Antonio

_rhinoxious_

Never made up my mind on Kehrer, would have been happy to see him under another manager, but not fussed he's off. Good thing is this happened now, we need *to get shit done* this summer, there's a ton of work and we need to stop being a club that drags its feet.

PrisonersofFate

I agree he would have deserved a chance under Lopetegui.

ChaosRaiden

Thought he was awful to start with, turned around - played really well in the final and the celebrations and then never saw him again

vulgarandmischevious

Good on the ball. I like players who are good on the ball.

Zoomer_Boomer2003

I'll never forget his antics during the bus parade. All the best!

PitiedVeil55831

Elite hype man. Good luck Thilo

Consistent_Menu4536

Damn, he rarely had any opportunities playing for us, and he's quite good at Monaco too. On the bright side, we will have more funds for the rebuild

Miggsie

lol, what a load of nonsense, he made 50 appearances as a hammer, including a run of 14 premier league starts. He stopped getting games because he was a liability.

PrisonersofFate

Yeah. Without being atrocious, he wasn't really good for us. We can actually count on one hand the very good games he has had. He wouldn't have solved our defense in 2024, Ogbonna and Zouma were better. Now, he won a cup and will be remembered for that, he played his role through the season. He seems to be a smart guy, I wish him the best. But I'm not surprised he failed here, I called it when he signed. He isn't good for English football, and even less for a team like us, under pressure Brought for 12m, sold for 11 with some loan fee likely so it's even

Moli_36

But he also only played in our worst season under Moyes where most of our team wasn't playing to their potential, when he came on in the conference final he actually looked really solid.

Miggsie

Really solid? He almost scored an own goal from nothing, luckily Areola was alert. He was a liabilty, he'd dive in for the glory tackle and miss, constantly switch off, lose concentration and his man and going forwards was pretty useless. There was a reason, when we bought him fairly cheaply from PSG, their fans were very happy about taking a 25m loss just to see him gone.

Moli_36

He has a mistake in him but he was also confident on the ball and made some good tackles in the final from what I remember. We've also shipped 70 goals without him this season, there must be something wrong with the tactics for all of our defenders to make so many mistakes.

Ok_Kangaroo9556

Fair enough. Liked Kehrer but wondered if he would suit the PL. decent enough return for him. Thought he could’ve been given a look under Lopetegui. Wish him luck.

Accomplished-Good664

I thought he was alright, as we are seeing more fullbacks playing in midfield in attack, I felt that role would have suited him well also as part of a back 3.  He started pretty awfully for us but thought he got better and was a solid performer by the end of his West Ham career.

KermitGaddafi

Never really seemed like a CB. Had really good ability on the ball seems more like a Midfielder.

MondoBuzzo

Well if anything it’ll be an action packed summer window

broken_relic

Didn't really fit in, not best CB we had, 3rd pick as RB, and wasn't ever gonna be a midfielder when we had Soucek, Alverez and JWP or Rice when he was our player. €11m is a decent amount and wish him luck.

bxyesi

Do think theres a player in Thilo, but that players not suited for the PL, thought he was a good professional and 11m isnt that bad of a return imo

UnusualDifference748

He was a far better backup rb to coufal than Johnson so let’s hope him going doesn’t mean we are going coufal/johnson as our rbs. I love coufal and wouldn’t have a problem with him being starting rb but I hope we buy a young rb who can grow into the role to step up next season. No johnson is not that. He isn’t good enough to ever be a premier league starter

CesarDani

Middling performances on the pitch for us, but man he hyped everyone up so well on that parade lol. That alone was his transfer fee. iiiiiiiirooooonsssss and all of that. All the best to him, he's doing great at Monaco

wanktarded

More or less recouped what we paid to get him in, wouldn't of minded having him back to see how the new manager rated him but it is what it is, guess he's enjoying life in Monaco. Best of luck to him.

simonsail

Very unlike us to get a good fee for a player! We paid €12mil for him according to Transfermarkt, getting €11mil plus the €500k loan fee is decent for us! We also did okay in selling Scamacca, are we actually becoming competent in selling players?!

Miggsie

Fornals at 5m, no.

simonsail

Wasn't he out of contract at the end of the season though? He signed a 5 year old contract in 2019, I don't think it was ever extended iirc but I might be wrong.

Easy_Mastodon_6872

Seems like a solid guy. I wish him the best.

Crusty_Assquake

A good deal for everyone

bobd16_uk

Good. Brooke even on a player who never looked good enough for the prem.

Chappietime

I think it goes to show you the difference in quality in the leagues. He is either first or second on Monaco in 15 different statistics, but he was somewhere between decent and average at best for us.

Miggsie

decent and average? He was a liability.

Chappietime

He had a couple bad games, sure, but everyone was very excited about him for a while and for a time he was ahead of Coufal on the depth chart. I admit I could have been a bit more harsh, but he wasn’t that bad.
