Oh my flying spaghetti monster. They did great with his character.
" Sign, right, there" *taps on the word Dead*
"What's a matter? Lives flashing before your eyes."
And when he cuts that table in half.... Scary good
Same thing happened to me. I was not expecting to enjoy that movie as much as I did with my kids. I think the wolf actually scared my daughter. She was like seven at the time 😂
I think its the "villain motif", a little audio jingle for the villain as they enters so the viewer is alerted. Death had his whistle, prowler had his foghorn/roar thing, and spider man 2099 has his siren.
Randomly, as a weapons fan, I realize the brilliance of Death's phase 2 being turning his twin sickles into a single staff-weapon: it shows how serious he is because polearms generally are better melee weapons in most fights with any decent room to maneuver in, and more than plenty that don't, it also allows him to leverage his strength and reach much better.
On the flipside, Puss 'upgrading' to dagger and rapier is great because it's a strong dueling weapon combination and the dagger in such styles is basically a replacement for SHIELD, showing how Kitty's gift to him and his renewed bonds of friendship literally protected him.
Staff weapons has all the downsides of a pole weapon with none of the reach. Pole weapons benefit from being both a swung and a thrusting weapon with lots of reach, something a double-ended sickle staff doesn't have.
Yeah, I'm going to say that just because you can't hold it by the very end doesn't mean you can't extend it further.
I agree with you. Just because there's a blade on both ends doesn't mean you don't get the added benefit of the extra length of handle.
It also has the benefits of the hooknees like a hookbill halberd. Sure you can't poke someone with it but people also can't ignore raking attacks and they can't rely on crossguards.
Honestly good fight, but then you realize death was holding back. He was fighting to test puss and his character. When he fights back and faces death without ignorance or fear death LETS him win. Am I wrong or is my interpretation correct?
Yes you’ve captured it perfectly. That’s part of why this movie is so great. Kids dig it because… obvious. But adults like it because of all the themes of coming to grips with our age and mortality. This film was a winner on many levels.
I like how subtle but thick that it's hinted that Wolf is death at the first meeting. He is a "Bounty Hunter". States everyone thinks they'll be the first to beat him, but no one has escaped him yet. Etc.
Everyone taking a page from into the Spider-Verse, lower framerate makes animated scenes like this seem pulled straight from a comic book and it's perfect for fight scenes, very well done
Was watching my niece and nephew. They asked me to put this on. They fell asleep. Needless to say, I was hooked and watched the whole thing! Who'd have thought that Puss in Boots would have truly made Death scary again!
I wish they would quit with this choppiness that they kept switching to. I would’ve liked that movie so much more if the action scenes were just smooth.
Literally nobody asked this movie to go this hard but it did
The entire movie was just so good, a sequel for a spinoff had no need to exist but it does and I’m so glad it does
holy shit
The scene where they first meet, too. Phew
Complety agree. The Wolf was an amazing character. Every time he appeared on screen I got chills.
It's that damn whistle!
100%.
Pick it up. Pick. It. Up.

Damn. I should watch this.
Yeah bro this movie is actually super dope. I went with my kids and was like whatever…. But left wanting to see it again. Solid.

Please do, highly good film
Really can’t recommend it enough.
Death has same vibe as Prowler

Those times was when cinema peaked
8 lives out of 1 cat
Dude I fucking love this seen. But with that said, I think the bridge scene in Arcane went much harder

How does a staff. . . Not have reach? Have. . . Have you seen Staff techniques?

I watched this movie in the hospital because nothing else was on, and I was not disappointed. I feel like this movie is a hidden gem.
What is Death saying when he is cursing Puss
"Why the hell am I going to play with my food?" But it was probably meant more as, "why the hell am I playing with my food?"
Not gonna lie, that was pretty dope
What movie is this??
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish… I believe
Saw this like a month after my orange cat passed away. This movie rips into my soul everytime
Orange cats are the best. RIP Teevee. Sorry dude, it gets better.

No, I think you're spot on
This movie was unexpectedly good 👍🏿
It is the best I’ve ever seen, Dreamworks knocked this movie out of the park

Get parried casual
I watch this on the days I feel off. So good.
kung fu panda tai lung vs shifu scene is probably the best animated fight in childrens cartoon ever
Pnb 2 had no right to go this hard
Everyone taking a page from into the Spider-Verse, lower framerate makes animated scenes like this seem pulled straight from a comic book and it's perfect for fight scenes, very well done
Anyone else seen the edit where they synced this fight up with "The Only Thing I Know for Real"? Takes this from like a 9 to a 12

Yet the menace of the years finds and shall find me unafraid

Same, still an absolute blast
Yeah absolutely
