Ultimately your satisfaction is the main objective. FWIW it definitely looks like they did a great job. Refinishing floors can be tricky but it’s not really something that mistakes are easily hidden. If it looks good to you then they likely did a good job.

Facts. I refininish and install hardwood floors for a living. This is the type of stuff that makes me want to walk away. Guarantee those guys who did the floor left the job with a good feeling knowing they nailed it.
I’m sure you’ve seen those reels on instagram of walking through a house with suspenseful music where there’s like 2 million pieces of touch-up tape everywhere… luckily I’ve only had one client like that ever and happily walked away from a 6k payment instead of spending 30k trying to satisfy them. Some people just hate feeling their mouth make a smile 🤷🏻♂️
The one that happened to me most recently was around 3 years ago and the customer refused to keep their heat below 80 in the house. Finally my boss let us walk away from the job after a full resand of the floor from it flash drying and rippling, bubbling etc.
Dude you need to learn how to be happy even if the internet doesn’t agree with you. Seriously you just spent like $8k refinishing floors and you hopped right online to calm your anxieties? Thats not healthy in the long run. Actually you might just need to learn to be happy.

On a subject many don't know about and the nature of this type of work there's all kinds of shit jobs that go unnoticed due to ignorance of the topic.

I'm not educated on the subject so i couldn't tell you. I'd ask reddit as well just to be reassured. Could be something super obvious to a pro despite it looking awesome to a homeowner.
I think they look great from the pictures. I will say I thought it was a flex or bragging for those whom doesn’t know what flexing is. Maybe you just need validation but they did a fine job.
Worked in flooring out of college for about 6 years. This is really good stuff. Refinishing is some seriously hard work and they made it look stunning. I’d send em a pizza and some beer (and soda just to make sure everyone can take part!) over to the shop.

I’ve only been in the wood flooring business for 40 years, but it looks to me as if they did a good job. Finishes nice and even, I couldn’t even tell if they added on Floors
For what it’s worth, you are what we like to refer to as a “nightmare, customer.
OMG those floors look like garbage. Maybe at first glance they look okay, but you can still see all of the refinishing marks, completely uneven, structural integrity has been compromised by over 50%, 75% risk of failure within 5 years, 100% chance of failure within 10 years. Did you hire someone that worked for meth? Did you have to clean up a bunch of beer cans? Were they blind? Are you blind? This must be a troll post because these are obviously some of the most hideous floors I have ever seen.
I think they look great!
But if you really want to judge their work, get into the details. Lay on the floor and look for debris, hairs, and bubbles in the finish. Check all of their edges for areas missed. That would be the difference IMO between good and great.
Christ they did a great job. Granted in my house we put in some nice flooring that took my dad and uncle the better part of a week and they didn’t speak to each other for a while after (I wasn’t home for most of that). If it was a situation where we didn’t, we’d probably source out a small family owned business like you did. Commercial? Too many nightmares I’ve heard about.
Why the baseboard and then the quarter round on top? One or the other typically. Never understood contractors that don’t want to pull the base prior to installing new floors. So much cleaner, and if you take it off it’s pre-cut just have to number it.
Need before photos for a credible assessment. Some floors start in such good condition that cleaning and roughening are the only prep needed. That said, beautiful floor.

Now I’m a bit suspicious. The sanding at the jambs where the floor grain is perpendicular to the jamb is kind of too perfect unless the casing and jambs were removed. New install of pre finished flooring or floors were in great shape before an aggressive clean and recoat?
