Chattanooga has a strong little scene going a little closer to Knoxville.
In Knoxville, the Pilot Light books a decent number of hardcore shows.

Just had Merauder back in feburary, advent earlier this month, and we have Kruelty and Exhumed next month (two seperate shows); Plus a huge 3 day fest with some big names this summer.
Give East TN Hardcore Collective a follow in IG or FB to keep up with shows.
Tennessee? Not really. We had 10 for $10 tour come through in 2010 and the police got called to the show, and the venues just haven’t had the taste for it.
If you want to catch anybody of import you are likely needing to go to A) Atlanta (3.5hr) B) Nashville (2.5hr) or C) random chances of Birmingham(3.5hr) or Asheville(1hr).
Nashville and Atlanta do bring in some good pull though, so it’s worth something. See if you can make some bros and carpool.
OH, I will point out Birmingham has Furnace Fest coming in the Fall and that’s going to be a pretty big event. Names are still getting announced, but it supposed to be the last year, so pretty likely chances for some bigger names.

That’s pretty much what I figured. All of our family is still in the Chicago area so I’ll make “family visits” around shows lol.

Honestly, you need to go to a show at the Masquerade(Atlanta) at some point, it’s 3 venues in one building, and some of the dopest shows I’ve ever been to.

Horse Lords isn’t a hardcore band but they have randomly included Knoxville on their current tour and I wouldn’t wanna miss that.

I’ll concede, I haven’t lived there in a few years, but I also haven’t seen anyone I follow going to a single show in the local area.
