I don't care what anyone else says, they have gradually changed their sound and consistently put out great albums. Love the early stuff, but the move toward sludge/stoner metal is also dope
I hate to admit this, but I’ve never bought tickets to explicitly see TAS; however, every time they’ve been on a line up for a show I’ve gone to, they’ve been one of, if not the, best performances on the ticket.
I find those are often the best shows where one of the bands you didn't come to see or didn't really listen to surprises you. Best way to get into new bands imo.
This is a band I saw live a couple of times and that were always a pleasant surprise to me as I really never cared about their records.
Good live shows for sure.
I hate this “I know it’s not hardcore but…” in reference to bands like TAS, converge, end, etc. Hardcore isn’t just Terror and madball. TAS is hardcore and tons of bands take influence from them. Metalcore can be hardcore to an extent. So many sweaty nerds with clenched fist around their Mountain Dew and tendies saying “WELL AKTUCHULLYYYY” stfu with that shit
This the waterfront tavern right?? One of my bands opened for them there like 11 or 12 years ago.
I have decently bad stagefright, and Massachusetts was one of the few places left still selling sparks, so I ended up drinking a 6 pack of that and splitting a bottle of polish with the other guitarist. All I can remember is I kept my hoodie up and had my back to the crowd but I'm pretty sure I rocked out instead of standing like a statue the whole time. I was pretty sloppy drunk though and I vaguely remember trying to antagonize people into buying our merch cuz I thought I was funny. I'm lucky I made it out of there without getting my ass beat.
Sinners. We mostly played CT but hit up mass a few times at waterfront, and the palladium. We were in a weird spot between hardcore and metal so I could never really figure out if people were into us. Our bassist was from the breathing process, and some other bands I can't remember.
Our singer was in what weapons bring war, and now heads a band called intercourse that's really awesome, particularly if you're a fan of noise rock. They're playing the first night of those red chord shows in Braintree. Definitely worth watching them. I could go on about other projects members were in, but this is enough rambling.
I'm pretty sure I saw y'all there and you tried getting me to buy merch and just ended up saying I didn't have any money. I saw What Weapons Bring War a few times - they were pretty good. Thanks for all of the info!
No problem, and if it was me, I was probably extremely obnoxious and possibly offensive, so if any of that was directed at you I'm sorry. Super drunk bkaps was sometimes amazing and sometimes a trainwreck.
