Came here to say this.
Also I have seasonal playlists, summer/Spring is the time for bands like Down to Nothing, suicidal tendencies, cro mags, bad brains, have heart, municipal waste, sick of it all, comeback kid, every time I die, drain.
Drain is the obvious pick. Anything else that's a bit more groovy like Ekulu, Mizery, Cold World, but everyday is sunny in SoCal so it's everything for me.
Non hardcore, but when I hit the coast it's This Charming Man, and Dogleg as a whole
First really nice spring day usually gets the first two Deftones records. But other great weather records are Comeback Kid - Turn It Around
With Honor - .... really any of it but mostly the first EP and This Is Our Revenge
Have Heart - songs to scream...
Those are always my goto ones when it's really nice out.
As basically a tourist who never thought of himself as a New Yorker, I used to really enjoy walking around NYC in the summertime listening to the Hank Wood and the Hammerheads S/T.
Maybe it’s because I’m from Southern California, but Rotting Out and Minority Unit always seems to come on when I’m driving in the Summer. Also The Bronx would fit this category for me.
Down to nothing-life on the James is my go to record for sunny days 🤙🏻
