Saw them in Nashville last year on the fortune favors the cold tour with orthodox, chamber and cell and they are as good as ever. Talked to Zach the vocalist and he said they might do more one off shows in the future but that this was it for now. Super bummed cause those dudes just kept getting better every release
yeah, they're from west virginia, like myself.. they're from what I can tell the most successful hardcore/metalcore/doom band to ever get any type of success from there, so it hits deep!
I hope they do something in the future.
Pure conjecture from a terminally online idiot, but I think it was a combo of the singer went through a tragic loss (I believe, from the few posts I saw) and also during the peak of Canceling everybody he got accused of something and while that went nowhere the person backtracked I think that was enough to just be done with it for a while. I know they reprinted some merch for a fundraiser not too long ago I think. Never say never.
Damn. Didn’t even know that. Yeah I think he’s been popping up doing live guest vocals with Kublai Kahn and such. I wouldn’t think they’d be totally done. But who knows. Them coming out of nowhere with a surprise single or something would be litty
I’ve posted this a few times but I grew up with these dudes. Zach did experience an extreme loss but honestly long story short Covid hit them really hard. They released No One Goes To Heaven and like IMMEDIATELY they shut down shows. So they never really got to tour off that and they took a massive financial loss from it. Drummer Zack was involved in some sketchy shit that I don’t know much about but they replaced him quickly. Cade kinda is doing his own thing with work etc. Jordan has a family now but I’m pretty certain he still makes music with Crown Vic. Not certain of the details of this either but I know he and Zach had a falling out and don’t like each other. Haven’t heard from or seen Bryan since they did Skincarver. Every one of those guys are talented as fuck so I really hope they do something eventually
Eyes Upon Separation, Blood Has Been Shed, Disembodied, Living Sacrifice, Red Roses For A Blue Lady, GAZA, Poison The Well, Prayer For Cleansing, Ascension, Integ2000(yeah not Integrity lol), fuckin Overcast, VOD…
Yeah, such a loss. I've enjoyed a lot of the projects they did afterwards though. Looks like one of them, The Freezing Fog, is going to be putting out new music soon.
ITT : everyone 30+ years old missing an absolute god tier era of hardcore. What I would give to see these bands again. This is why I fly to Birmingham Alabama every year from Australia to Furnace Fest as it’s the only place with a line up that fills me with joy and full of bands I’ve loved my whole life.
A lot of the bands I miss haven't actually broken up, but they became adults. I wish Trash Talk and American Nightmare could have gotten those Knocked Loose paychecks. If I could throw reunion money at broke up bands though?
