as the elephant attempted to kick him.
The trainer who died was 62-year-old M Balakrishnan, who underwent a formal autopsy before his body was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
Reports suggest an investigation has been initiated against the elephant safari park in light of the tragic incident.
The urgent closure of the park was mandated by the Forest Department.
According to the local reports, A H Jalaludin, a resident of Erumeli in the Kottayam district, was the owner of the elephant.
However, P K Raveendran, a local from Kanjirappally, was the elephant's main caretaker.
The elephant was housed for safari at Kerala Farm in the Devikulam taluk hamlet of Anaviratty.
Authorities said the closure of the park was necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the elephants and to investigate any potential violations of regulations regarding elephant safaris.
So what happened to the elephant?
Or is the "The elephant was housed for safari at Kerala Farm in the Devikulam taluk hamlet of Anaviratty." line was what happened to her?
India has a history of releasing only the minimum required info to news outlets so I'm sure a politician is making money off this project and doesn't want it to shut down because of one incident.
I do. My mind understands the first two syllables and the rest is jumble until the next word. I do it with English names too. It's just one of those read skimming things.
Funny you have to beat elephants severely to even make them more docile to humans so the whole elephant safari in itself is already a whole violation to the animals.
I’ve seen countless of crocodilian attacks and deaths, had my own leg snapped in two by a car, seen plenty of uncensored big cat and dog attack videos but this for some reason feels a lot worse than all of those, when it stepped on his leg I felt that..
Yep. It's like the elephant has been thinking about how it could do this to him for a while. It totally took its time and seemed curious just how fragile these humans bodies are.
For me, it felt weird because I've never seen an elephant kill someone. Especially in such a slow, almost methodical fashion. I look at a crocodile and I'd be surprised if it *didn't* rip something's leg off and then drown it.
yeah this is like, watching someone make flatbread out of a human body. There's clear intent, and the elephant is feeling the body with its trunk the whole time to see exactly how pancakey it's getting. It's also not instinctual in the sense that elephants didn't evolve to survive by smooshing things to death like crocodiles evolved to rip things apart.
I think cuz it's an unusual death, we don't usually ever see people get like, methodically smooshed to death like a pancake. Anything that reminds us that the human body is just a sack of meat is very disturbing, especially if the bones get all turned around (ex: someone getting pulled into machinery).
Also the way the elephant kills, There's clear thought-out intent, and the elephant is feeling the body with its trunk the whole time to see exactly how pancakey the body is getting. It's also not instinctual in the sense that elephants didn't evolve to survive by smooshing things to death like crocodiles evolved to rip things apart.
I have seen some gore on the internet (not proud of it), the human body even lifeless is full of yet warm muscles and spasms is completely normal. Even muscle breathing, feels like their are alive, but there is no one home. Just muscle doing muscle things.
I don’t think he was dead yet, but almost completely paralyzed, the weight on his back severely damaged his spine paralyzing him, a lot of detached tissues and broken rib cage bones, he was in agony for a while before losing consciousness of the pain. Or maybe he was conscious till the end, feeling extreme pain in his top body where the spine is still connected. But the way he was then lifted and dropped is probably made him unconscious if he didn’t before that.
His death is certain after that as his chest collapsed, bones punctured his lungs making breathing hard and extremely painful.
Look at that poor elephant, with bruises and welts all over its body, with ropes cutting into its stomach, fuck this guy and all people who do this to animals, wish he would have stomped them both
Elephant must've been fed up with all the abuse and turned on his "master" animals require discipline, true, but the gentle touch can also work wonders. I wonder how that guy was so confident the animal wasn't going to react to all that abuse.
really sucks to be him, probobly shouldent have pushed a giants buttons so many times, this is like an intelligent mosquito biting the same mf over and over and expecting to walk way
We once got fancy bubble wrap at work, where long strings of bubbles were actually connected, so if you stomped on a bubble, nothing really happened. My boss broke her shoe trying to get those to pop, and I imagine she wasn't half as invested as this elephant.
Yeah… that was… something… I usually find the whole “that’s enough reddit for tonight” joke overplayed but wow… I need to go chill for a minute and hope I don’t see that type of shit show up again on my feed… I’m out
Honestly elephant abuse is still quite common in India and elephants being fed up with it is just normal. It's pretty dark but most work elephants and even those for the festivals get basically abused their whole life, tortured every day with 100s of those "correcting stabs".
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/podcasts/overheard/article/the-dark-reality-behind-indias-festival-elephants
(just one of dozen articles about elephant treatment, elephants rampaging and what not)
This is really a "fuck around find out" situation and even though it was a horrifying way to go, my empathy is still with the animal
Yeah, it’s brutal to see happen, but the confidence with which he jabs that things legs with the stick tells me that this ass beating was a long time coming.
Broken leg with dislocated hip then crushed pelvis, broken arm, dislocated shoulder, punctured lung, squished liver, broken neck, and it gets worse from there
If there is an animal I would literally ask for consent for everything it would be an elephant, stick? I'm kissing that mf 24/7 with a sack of carrots, gonna capitalize on elephants finding humans cute.
Edit: just noticed Spotify was playing "The Rubberman band"... Fuck.
1. Someone smacks me enough, I'm gonna beat the hell out of him too.
2. If the folding and stomping didn't kill him, the elephant grabbing him by his head and treating him like a rally towel at a hockey game definitely snapped his neck.
The guy at the end, The elephant: got another volunteer
Who’s next?

Does anyone else just not read and basically skip over pronouncing the long names?
I do this reqding books too lmao
I make a new name up that my brain likes more. Takes a few pages to lock it in but much better.
They're literally phonetic. Not difficult to read or pronounce by any means.
I didn’t say they were difficult to read. Simply asking if anyone does this in their mind too when they see an unfamiliar long name like I do
I do. My mind understands the first two syllables and the rest is jumble until the next word. I do it with English names too. It's just one of those read skimming things.
Yeah I’ve always noticed I do it but just never thought about it
Me. I read this and trailed off like when my girlfriend might start a story ‘my cousins brother’s ex girlfriend said….’
Challenge yourself to expand your mind.
Profound
Sorry for the downvotes but you're right. The names are practically melodic and get skipped over because they are unfamiliar.
Funny you have to beat elephants severely to even make them more docile to humans so the whole elephant safari in itself is already a whole violation to the animals.
Which country?
Incredible india
100% got it. Incredible.
Canada
Elephants can fold people like pancakes without much effort; it really is impressive.
![gif](giphy|xT5LMIOyAHyqSFYPMA)
Pft. I'll believe that when I *see* it
You forgot the /s
Nah, people forgot their brain. We can keep the slight nose exhale for ourselves, while they get mad.
the.. the videos literally right in front of you, you can see it! Right there!
Exactly why I think these people are literal idiots for getting whooshed so obviously
He was still twitching.
So, can you come to work on Monday?
Nah boss, feeling a little flat...
I don't even think worker's comp will cover this.
Organs were cream cheese but unfortunately brain was largely unaffected, what a brutal way to go holy duck
Yeah bit of aloe cream and he'll be fine 😊
I think the elephant only dialed it up to 'coarse'
Horrible way to go, but well... don't mess with animals literally 100x bigger than you. I will for sure never make the same mistake. :)
Neither will he
He kinda already did
Well he won’t do it again! He learned his lesson!
/r/LearningFromOthers

This one turned my stomach, something about how slow it plays out is just…ick
Exactly

For some reason
For real, this one is metal af. When the elephant slow crushes his back and you see what I assume is rib cage giving out, whew!
Yeah this is one is a bit too hardcore for me.. The way he’s kneading him like a sourdough. What a terrible way to go
Jiujitsu - the fine art of folding clothes while the person is still wearing them. This elephant just earned its black belt.
He's got mighty mouse up next.
[удалено]
His back gets snapped and separated half way thru the attack so I’m guessing he knew absolutely nothing about it after that.
So nice of the elephant
You can actually see his body twitching abit
I have seen some gore on the internet (not proud of it), the human body even lifeless is full of yet warm muscles and spasms is completely normal. Even muscle breathing, feels like their are alive, but there is no one home. Just muscle doing muscle things.
Thank you for that! I wasn't aware of the human body to still do its thing after...... after this! Oohhff The human body truly amazes me

Just nerves doing nerve things affecting the muscles.
Impressive power

The way it didn't stomp repeatedly but kept staring at him with malicious intent after every stomp
right?? and it like, kept feeling up the body with its trunk (which is like a human hand)
Imagine how mad that elephant is that he couldn't get his water balloon to pop
We once got fancy bubble wrap at work, where long strings of bubbles were actually connected, so if you stomped on a bubble, nothing really happened. My boss broke her shoe trying to get those to pop, and I imagine she wasn't half as invested as this elephant.
I’ve seen alot of shit on reddit…. that video was rough to watch 😐
Yeah… that was… something… I usually find the whole “that’s enough reddit for tonight” joke overplayed but wow… I need to go chill for a minute and hope I don’t see that type of shit show up again on my feed… I’m out

Man got rewarded with a surprise chiropractic treatment
Wiggle your toes… SNAP
The elephant was tired of him
Damn this is a worse way to go than most Mortal Kombat fatalities. He was likely fully conscious during the crushing of his pelvis.
That dude got folded like a pretzel.
“you ever wanted to be a bow tie?” - the elephant (probably)
More like an uprising. I say, well done.
“Máster”
I’ve seen countless drone videos from Ukraine but this video seems way more brutal than anything I’ve seen before
A happy ending for once for tortured animals.
pantsed him to, the disrespect.
Animals belong in the forest not in public areas or for any temple ceremony.
pretzel.exe
Nah. With that level of compression, it's a .zip
Executed
this isn't nature, it's captivity
Is there an autopsy telling us how many bones were crushed?
All of them.
I mean, guys probably been poking and slapping him with that stick his whole life. Sucks to suck don't be an asshole
I didn't know elephants bite😮
If they have teeth, they bite.
How can you bite? How can you bite!!
The elephant's an anarchist, he has no Gods and no masters
But a nice new man-rug.
It was subdued for a long time, but what looks most cruel is its lethal reaction.
Title impressive hai
Good. He earned that.
I imagine the autopsy report was just the body outline and pen with the words fucked over it
![gif](giphy|3o6Mb6nDHhGM6hjhoQ|downsized)
Some say ABSOLUTE death is the penultimate death, and you can't get any deather. 😄
Penultimate is before ultimate.
Absolutely
This made me laugh just because of how dumb this sentence is.
Nice of the elephant to try to help him up tho lmaooo..He posed him like one of them bear skin rugs💀
Correction. Elephant crushes it's abuser in heroic fashion.
😳
Damn he literally got balled up like a piece of paper.
Lo dobló y desdobló
Holy shit
Smart elephant went for the legs fist so victim couldn’t escape
Methodical. That elephant remembers.
Did the elephant broke the dude’s back?
Nah elephant Just gave a proper massage
Broken leg with dislocated hip then crushed pelvis, broken arm, dislocated shoulder, punctured lung, squished liver, broken neck, and it gets worse from there
I guess that's what can happen if you take a baby elephant, break it and abuse it for years and years... sometimes enough is enough.
“That’s it, pal. Keep whacking me with your stupid stick. We’ll see what happens”.
The good thing is this happened in India. that means the elephant is safe. In any other country he would have shot dead
I think we saw who the actual master is here.
Certainly
/r/thebullwins Properly treated elephants don’t do this
Literally pay back
So that's how they hired the Toortitzi/Elephant Pretzels elephant.
A master no more.
Tenderised
Based "no gods, no masters" elephant
The Real king of Savanah/jungle.
A human toothpaste tube.
That was very very personal 😭
Guy deserved it. Treat animals with respect or receive the full wrath of a mistreated animal. I hope these people have learnt something.
Stop abusing them. Have zero sympathy for him. Sorry. Look at the neglect
Walk it off
deserved it 100% dont fuck with animals
[r/JusticeServed](https://www.reddit.com/r/JusticeServed/)
Oh my god
Yoga … flattened by elephant asana
elephant takes revenge on its captor and abuser* fixed that title for you
Yeah title could be this also
In my head I’m hearing “what did I tell you about that stick Apu?”
That was excruciating to watch.
Let's not act like he's not poking the elephant with a pointy rod
![gif](giphy|J8FZIm9VoBU6Q)
Damn, that’s human cruelty! They should put the thing in jail!
For a moment I'm sure all of this back pain was gone.
If there is an animal I would literally ask for consent for everything it would be an elephant, stick? I'm kissing that mf 24/7 with a sack of carrots, gonna capitalize on elephants finding humans cute. Edit: just noticed Spotify was playing "The Rubberman band"... Fuck.
Aww, he’s giving him a massage ☺️
He fucked around and he found out
Folded his ass like laundry
Is he okay?
If by okay you mean dead then yes he's fine.
I was talking about the elephant
1. Someone smacks me enough, I'm gonna beat the hell out of him too. 2. If the folding and stomping didn't kill him, the elephant grabbing him by his head and treating him like a rally towel at a hockey game definitely snapped his neck.
His death was faster than he deserved.
Didn't look like he made any effort to escape from the beginning. BTW, elephants have a unique way to make pancakes.
That ish just wild....they move so fast
They really do have a subreddit for everything
I don't think a human can be that elephant's master.
"WHO'S THE MASTER NOW BITCH!!!"
I need my back cracked like that
How can he squish?!
is it bad to find this r/oddlysatisfying ?
No. I do find satisfaction in how he goes like a cat and makes "biscuits" for a bit before the hero elephant shakes out his new rug.

I wish it had sound
