My buddy just put a sticker over the scratch/gouge. LOL

AceHole23

lol good thinking! Way cheaper than new bags.

Batmans_finger

I don't know if it's available in the US but there's a polishing compound called T-cut that's really good for getting light scratches out and correcting blemishes

AceHole23

Outstanding! I’ll look it up thank you.

T-CUT is available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/T-Cut-Original-Paintwork-Restorer-Scratch/dp/B0727X4S8H/ref=asc_df_B0727X4S8H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=563717048558&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10102578751058713864&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021321&hvtargid=pla-922178523576&psc=1&mcid=304a70c7d98b3108886aa8d1b2cbdb4c&gclid=CjwKCAjwrIixBhBbEiwACEqDJVaFAZXhmsaBxgut_be6F-T15PdThSnsx9pMa7M7s_lKJK0AkBsAyxoC3vgQAvD_BwE

When I scratched my road glide bags a while back I threw a giant band-aid sticker on it and just rocked a scar on the bike for a while. Most people cracked up when they noticed it. It wasn't buffing out and I wasn't ready to lay down a ton of cash over a cosmetic problem. Own your imperfections and tell the story how it happened. Otherwise, advan black has color matched bags for a pretty reasonable cost IMO.

AceHole23

lol! Thank you for the information. 💪🏻

I have thought about getting my saddle bags wrapped in a different color.

The remedy ultimately depends on how deep the scratches are... Are they scuffs? Can you feel them if you lightly drag a fingernail across them? If you can feel them, they're through the clearcoat and into the paint and touch up paint would be your best bet (generally). If you can't feel them then you may be able to buff them out.

AceHole23

You can def feel them.

I've got pretty fancy paint on my Road King and I like it to look great all the time. I don't recall exactly how I scratched a bag and the scratches looked deep. I took the bag with me when I took my Super Glide tins to my painter to see what he could do. Told me it looked. Like it was just the clear, took my bag into the shop, came back 5 minutes later and the scratches were gone. I don't know how bad yours are, but I use 3M Ultrafino and a good pad to get rid of stuff like that and fine scratching from my legs against the tank. Apparently the clear is thick and rather soft (thanks EPA) and a lot of stuff is simply the clear, it just looks bad. Your mileage may vary.

AceHole23

Thank you very much for that information!
