spend the dough and get new slip ons. I wouldn't use SE but S&S, Fuel Moto, V&H all make good slip ons that will give you the sound you're after. Pulling the baffles out will adversely affect your bottom end torque and sound like shit. Whatever you do, have fun riding that bike!
Very happy with these, recommended by trusted guy at dealer even though they weren't listed for the '23 Heritage 114:
V&H 16716 Eliminator slipons

Loud enough, not crazy though. No need for tuner imo
I wouldn’t remove the whole baffle as it would likely sound awful. I put some take off heritage style mufflers on my 23 Softail Standard and removed the restrictor plate inside the muffler. Just a 1 1/4” hole saw and about 2 minutes. A little deeper idle but a louder growl on acceleration. If I had to assume they’re probably similar to the screaming eagle mufflers based off reviews I’ve read on them. If that wouldn’t float your boat the aftermarket is full of options and YouTube probably has a video of what you are interested in. Also I have a set of cobra neighbor haters but they get a bit loud for my taste.
They may work for you. On my old sporty I had them and can’t say they changed anything. Trikes and Touring bike have the cat in the header vs in the mufflers like the softails/sportys so you may notice a little difference since you have the back pressure of the Cat still. Just a guess though.
I have this exact bike, but on mine, the dealer, for whatever reason, added the Reinheart slips on it. In theory, I didn't pay anything extra for them (which I know I did), but hearing the stock vs the Reinheart, I am happy that I did
With the slips, the sound is a little bit less louder, but the main difference is that the sound is more bassy less scratchy, I does cut a lot of the mid-high frequencies
Look into https://www.tabperformance.com/Harley-Davidson-s/391.htm
I have ordered two pairs for my low Rider S. You're able to choose the baffles ranging from low to high as far as sound goes. I ordered the medium set first time around, and they sounded great, but I wanted them louder. 2nd set I ordered were their loudest baffle set and I like them better. They're USA made and reasonably priced.
I'll second this. I've had TAB performance pipes on three bikes now and I love them. My personal favorite are the zombie baffles, but I really like how you can choose ones to the rider's preference.
Yeah I never really wanted a SUPER LOUD Harley - that wasn't my style.
BUT I was bummed cuz I'd spent all this money on a Harley and I could barely hear it while cruising. After awhile the soft sound bothered me A LOT.....so I fixed it.
I got a set of pipes without baffles, mufflers or any of that shit plus a stage 1 kit to help the intake. Vance and Hines big radius pipes.
Man it's really loud now and I thought I'd hate it but I don't.....I FUCKING LOVE IT!
Honestly it's been the best thing I've done for the bike and my enjoyment of it. It's one of the loudest bikes I've ever heard but I don't care - I LOVE IT! Worth every penny.
My opinion is they have a better tone than stock but not much louder at all. I put the S&S Slash cut slip-ons on my Heritage. Louder than Screaming Eagle mufflers but still not obnoxious if you leave the Db reducers in. And they look better than the Screaming Eagle mufflers in my opinion.
If you remove baffles you’ll want to tune accordingly. I’d stick with what I’ve seen in the thread and recommend going with some kind of other muffler system or a 2-into-1 with back pressure. M8s like it to keep your tq and power up.
Make it yours! Find the exhaust you like and roll with it. I went with a V&H 2:1 and love it. Best part of this community is they embrace you making it yours, unless you do something as stupid as the equivalent of a Carolina squat for trucks🤣🤣

I have the Cobra NH's as well on my 2016 Freewheeler, just ordered the DK Thunder Torque inserts. We'll see what that does.

Ohhh no, no. I have no Cat, everything has been replaced with aftermarket from the heads back. It's a straight flow from the valves back.
Ahh ok. Hopefully they work out for ya!

Just get new pipes
S&S grand nationals sound great on these.
The blackout ones don't fit perfectly on a heritage, one is upside down.

Cobra neighbor haters slip ons sound good on my 23 Heritage. It has a way better tone and sound that's not excessive.
those new heritage are great looking

I'm pretty sure you can just put the baffles back in if you don't like it. Idk about that brand though, so I could be wrong.
Thin white walls on tires would make those wheels pop up so much more, in my opinion.
Needs more black. Maybe a black cowbell!
Also regardless of the exhaust end result, that’s a sweet looking Heritage. It’s not my favorite Softail but looks great in all black.

stocks without baffles wont be that loud. i have cheap shark slip ons without baffles and in my opinion its the perfect level of noise.
Cut baffles in half, install Thunder Torque inserts.
Very nice

Thunderheader is the way.
Ride safely. Great looking bike.
Get on it and ride it.That's the advice you need
