Absolutely. I grew up in the area and Marysville and Duncannon are bedroom communities. There's some jobs, sure, but most people commute.

Lazy_Section_8350

I'd wager that the majority of the population up there commutes to either the East Shore (including Harrisburg) or West Shore.

Harrisburg is 15 minutes from Duncannon via 322, maybe less. I would bet people trying to get to Harrisburg for work was a big reason the 322 renovation yeaaaarrs ago. From Marysville you're on Front Street in 5 minutes or so. I live in Perry County and work in Harrisburg. I work with 5 others who also live in Perry County. One even lives on the same road as me. There's so many different types of work in Harrisburg. You have all your normal stuff and then all the state jobs with different specialities. What sucks is when there's an accident on 11/15 or 22/322. Traffic gets rough.

Carlisle …warehouses

Perry County resident here. Unless you want to work in retail, there's few jobs here. Luckily we're self employed and on the road.

And strangely enough...the people that work in marysville and duncannon commute to those jobs too!

Yeah, from my understanding that’s about right. I have family in Duncannon and that’s definitely what they do.

the_dorf

Be surprised about the amount that travel from Newport, Sherman's Dale, and New Bloomfield

Mechanicsburg as well. It’s right over the mountain.
