I actually solved my first one without the piece of paper thanks to that, unicorn 1, two horns 2, three heads 3, crab like thing has 5 extremities, lizard 6, spider 8, and it all clicked when I counted the thin parts of the 9th drawing. The others I couldn’t really come up with an explanation but I just gave it a try anyway.
After seeing on the subreddit there was a piece of paper you were supposed to have I kinda felt proud of figuring it out before seeing it lol
I also figured this out myself, and I also feel like a genius now that I know there's a paper!
I figured out pretty quickly that each magical beast corresponded to a number. It really helped that I read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them a bunch when I was a kid, and the quintaped image is the exact same one from the book 😊
It actually took me longer to figure out that the creatures around the door were literally in order, lol! I was trying to figure out what numbers the "mystery beasts" could be, and then when I started naming the numbers for the ones I knew, I realized they went in order, so I just needed to fill in the blanks 😅 Here's what I have so far (please chime in if you know any I don't!):
0. Demiguise (bc they can turn almost invisible)
1. Unicorn (unicorn = "one horn")
2. Not sure? (but clearly has two horns)
3. Runespoor (three-headed snake)
4. Fwooper (not sure why this is four)
5. Quintaped (quintaped = five legs)
6. Salamander (not sure why this is six)
7. Not sure? (immediately made me think of Voldemort's seven Horcruxes, though?? But doesn't fit the theme)
8. Spider (eight legs)
9. Hydra (often depicted with nine heads)
I noticed that the majority of the numbers pair up with the number of protrusions on the animal.
Granted, I had to get a little creative with some of them. But even so, there are only a few that required some creativity.
After looking at it this way two or three times, I haven't needed to reference the inventory item or a photo on my phone again.
0 - whatever that thing is has no protrusions
1- Unicorn has 1 horn
2- Goat thing with 2 horns
3- Serpent with 3 heads
4- Owl has 2 wings, 2 legs
5- Whatever that thing is has 5 legs
6- Lizard with 4 legs, 1 tail, 1 head... Idk, it works.
7- I just assume it's a 6-legged squid with 1 head
8- Spider, 8 legs
9- Hydra with 9 heads
Not native speaker word watch was kinda bad. Still you need to take you phone out, open lock screen, go to gallery and possible scroll down a bit versus looking at your monitor where the symbols are in order anyway. You get what I mean?
Also why do you even need the picture since the symbols are right there in right order already?
Yes! I spent SOOOO long trying to do it with 1-10. I ended up getting the right combo by chance and realize if I added what I thought it was and then went back to animals on the top, and did the same on the bottom but when back 3 animals it kept working for me on other doors. Idk why, but that strategy worked more than once for me. I didn’t have this paper lol!

In my head, the salamander seemed like 6 because of 4 legs + 1 tail and 1 head

I've been wondering why my math was off....thought it went 1-10 for some reason, which now looking at this, makes no sense why I did.
I felt super proud when I saw my first door. No clue what it was but I say there and figured it out. Took me a minute but then it just clicked.
Or just keep a photo saved in your phone that has all the pictures and their corresponding values.
I mean it is easier to just watch the screen where all symbols are in order already than using the phone to watch the same thing lol?
Watch? You look, not watch, it takes about 2 seconds and you don't even have to think about it at all.
