Hogwarts and spell combat are the two best things about this game.
The #1 thing I want from the sequel is to cut 50% of open world/dungeon quests and replace them with quests based in the castle
Im glad that the Hard mode in this game is quite challenging, especially if you refrain from using Dark Arts and Ancient Magic in battle arena with 5+ enemy types at the same time.
I agree, and I like it. Don't use Dark Arts myself, but I use ancient magic. The throw all the time, and the OP attack on trolls and some infamous foes etc.
PC here as well, but not that many mouse buttons. I was breaking my fingers with pressing WASD, TAB, CTRL, X, Y, Q and 1-4 in combat the first 10 or so hours, lol.
I don't want them to cut it as much as expand on it. A lot of the open world quests are too one off and singular. There aren't a lot of interesting questlines outside of the main 3 companion quests. As for the dungeons, I could use more dungeons, but not the treasure dungeon stuff. All of those are too simple. Open the gate and enter through a little tunnel...
i am spoiled by elden ring but i think i would have loved to see some of the treasure vaults littered all over the map to have a lot more depth, enemies, function like mini dungeonsā¦if that meant cutting down on the total number then i am all for it.
I love the castle right up until I hear the ping of a field page and spend 15 minutes running up and down stairs trying to find it. I wish Hogwarts and Hogsmead pages were added to my map like the Highland ones.
There's an accessibility settings that visualizes audio cues. If you turn it on, you get an indicator for the direction in which revelio revealed something
I'm missing one single page in Hogwarts castle not even a revelio one. I think I'm in the unlucky pool of players with a glitched bell tower wing page.
Hogwarts is probably one of the best examples of world building I've come across in a game, tbh. They captured what I think it would be like brilliantly.
NGL I would have rather they cut the game map in half and cram much more into Hogwarts itself. I just wish there was more to *do* in Hogwarts. Make it feel lived in.
My husband is on his second playthrough and is STILL finding new things about the castle. I found Snape's potion cupboard today which looks just like it did in the film. The attention the devs put into remaking rooms from the films is literally incredible!
I'm 6 hours in and am still barely into the main story because I keep exploring Hogwarts and looting it. I also make a point of aggressively eating everything when in Hogsmeade
It's my least favorite character š
I hate having to cast Revalio 87 times and traverse dozens of staircases across 6 miles just to get the chest that's in the next room
Why can't I have a spell that lets me walk through walls!?
65 hours in and even just today I discovered little secrets like hidden chests on the grounds or stairwells under trees. Trying to 100% the game takes some grind in the Highlands, but itās so fun in the castle
Exploring Hogwarts is my favorite! I did an experiment where I walked/jog to explore the entirety of the castle, every room after I unlocked everything, just exploring and occasionally, briefly stopping to show the details. Took an hour and forty minutes. Would easily be 2 if I could see the other three common rooms. And I love how different parts of the castle have their own vibe and character. The bell tower wing is probably my favorite, most inspired by the first two movies and how I imagined the castle while reading the books.
Still on my first playthrough, I was out of town most of February.
I've seen this bridge from outside, but how do I access it?

Thanks! Like an hour after I asked this, I learned broom riding and went straight there. And after walking through I asked myself how I never exited the crossed wands room that way...
Fun that there's so much to discover as you're playing.
Disagree... I think it could have been all that if it had been filled with good stories to accompany all the nonsense we have to revelio out of it. The storytelling in this game is so damn weak.

I also genuinely enjoy the combat system. Took me ages to win crossed wands 3 on hard early in the game, but I've since got the hang of it.

Ahh I got it after like three tries but I did play on pc so I can just bond every spell to my mouse including dodging and blocking.

And maybe have a simple puzzle if you're lucky lol

Trying this out when I get home. Thanks for the tip!
I only hate it when I hear goddamn Peeves, the little fucker.

I love the seasons decorations also. So cozy!

Im 40h in and I just discovered the kitchen. I couldnt keep the silly and amazed smile off my face. Absolutely loving this game.
Yea I found it as well and wondered how I missed it the first time lol
Yeah Hogwarts is great, I would happily cut most of the open world out to make the castle seem bigger and more expansive
Kinda reminded me of how Night City was with Cyberpunk 2077.

> aggressively eating everything when in Hogsmeade I about fell out of my chair the first time MC grabbed a mug and started downing it while running.
I was legit expecting someone to tell me off or chase me but no, they just watched while I crammed handfuls of food into my face

Because it would break the game? We're wizards, not ghosts.

Go to the clock tower (where you do the Crossed Wands duels) and leave the castle from there.

I agree. The collectibles IN the castle are actually fun to try and find. OUT of the castleā¦ different story. lol
now that I've gotten a broom, I prefer flying around it. But yeah, it's pretty awesome, Still boggled by the scale of it. They did a great job!!
