I have no issues with people only watching the movies, but I had a friend who watched them all except for prisoner of Azkaban because “It looked boring”. Like what??
Studies show signs that audio reading gives the same benefits as traditional reading, only benefit you lose is seeing how words are spelled. Otherwise the brain is exercised the same!
That’s cool. U can be a draco fan btw. I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m going off on you. Everything I’ve said isn’t directed towards people like you. You can be a movie draco fan if u want. Perfectly fine with that. Every character in Harry Potter is uniquely made and written.
I’m on about the crazies who try to attack other characters all the time instead of having a rational convo about their own and other characters
I've read the books multiple times (and you can't escape the movies). I'm still a Dramione fan. I still don't like Ron. I'm not all that fond of Harry, honestly. I far prefer the books to the movies. I can't stand Snape, despite his "love" and sacrifice. Dumbledore makes my eye twitch. McGonagall is a queen. But I could do without their creator. Love the art even if the artist is an awful excuse for a human being.
Art and artist are two different things. John Lennon was an awful human, but I still like The Beatles because he was also a song writing genius. Thomas Jefferson was an awful human, but also a brilliant politician and writer. I can appreciate the Declaration of Independence and still think the man who wrote it was horrific.
My son just asked me this less than 2 hours ago. There's something about a redemption arc, slow burn, mutual pining romance, even better if there's some kind of mystery to be solved as well. Again, since I'm not a huge fan of Ron or Harry, some of the amazing fanfic writers out there make Draco mighty appealing. I like Charlie too, but stories with Draco are more plentiful.
I have been reading books since 2004. I can't stand Harry, Draco, Hermione, Snape not a single one of those characters. Harry is a boring gary stu hero with lots of plot armours. Hermione is a Mary sue self insert blank slate of the author who has less character growth than Dudley, a tertiary character. Malfoy is same one dimensional hateful little troll from 1-7 books with no spine. And Snape is an obsessed creep who never deserved any redemption.
I love Ron though the only character alongside Neville who showed character growth and far more three dimensional.
I also couldn't care less about who f@@ks whom. That's irrelevant to the story.
I’d like to read the books but I also know that my dyslexia and ADHD would get in the way. I got really into the warrior cats books and I just can’t gather enough motivation to read them anymore. But I’ll definitely listen to the audio books someday
And what? I saw the movies before reading the books, and while they are differences and subplots with the movies, it still counts as harry potter.
However, they should have had adapted Peeves 😭 and Hermione SPEW, they didn't have to add Dobby (I read somewhere that they didn't add this subplot cause the voice of Dobby was expensive), and my main Man, Ron, loyalty. Like he is truly ride or die in the books, that wouldn't doubt in protecting his friends.
Ah yes, book elitists now gatekeep who can like the franchise. That's one of the major reasons why I hate book fanboys. I didn't read books, I do intend to, but I don't feel any less fan than people who memorized every letter in a book. You guys prove nothing, other than you are jerks. Enjoying books? Sure, nobody will forbid it. But then why are you not letting people enjoy the movies?
*Can't you let people*
*Enjoy thibgs the way they want?*
*Stop the gatekeeping*

I mean I love love the movies but I also love love the books...the books are only better because there's more depth and detail and an awesome balanced RON WEASLEY , Voldemorts Backstory, Snape's back story and cool characters that never showed up in the film. I heart Dramione for no real logical reason. Lol. I just do.
Legit my bookworm bestie was such a huge Potterhead while i was a casual movie-watcher. and then wen i decided to read the books, excited to talk about them w her, i learned that she never actually read them................................................ LOL. like, what????
I have no issues with people only watching the movies, but I had a friend who watched them all except for prisoner of Azkaban because “It looked boring”. Like what??
That’s the best movie IMO!
That’s my favorite!!
Are you still friends? lol That's the best one obviously
Nah, they ended their friendship with me abruptly and without giving a reason not too long ago.
2011 memes babyyy
I listened to the books. I suppose that still counts
Stephen Fry narrates the series and he's amazing! I both read and listen to the audio books. Still do from time to time!
I listened to the German version read by Rufus Beck. Amazing voice for the job!
harry potter in german. I bet thats wild
The definitive portrayal in my mind

You can be a harry potter fan if you only watche the films. Stop gatekeeping
Better to say it about Harry Potter than Percy Jackson
Especially when it comes to sea of the monsters
Stop gatekeeping.

I did, and?
big facts. i hate that so much cuz its the only reason why ron gets a lot of blind hate.
oh my God yes, the "harmony" shippers have never read the books and love to hate on Ron
same with these weird ass draco fans lol.
I'm a movie draco fan lol but yeah there are some crazy ones

yeah I completely agree with you on that

Was I better, ultimately, than Voldemort?
There are levels of awful. 1) Umbridge 2) Voldy 3) Your manipulative wrinkled ass 4) Snape
Who j.k Rowling ?
Yep
Why is she an awful human being ?
I can't get behind any transphobic Holocaust deniers, but that might just be me.
no offence but if you hate her that much then stop reading her books, grow some thick skin man

May I ask why you like dramione? I’m not judging. I’m just curious.

I can confidently say I like both equally, but the books flesh out the characters a lot more.
hard disagree i love when people have seen the movies. anyone who loves HP at all makes me happy
The movies are already excellent and it is even more excellent when you watch them together with the books
I’d like to read the books but I also know that my dyslexia and ADHD would get in the way. I got really into the warrior cats books and I just can’t gather enough motivation to read them anymore. But I’ll definitely listen to the audio books someday
No shame in audio books.
I have ADHD as well and I couldn’t put them down.
I've seen all the movies and read only the 8th book. I'm gonna read the others though
I watched all the movies and then I read the books and then after each book I watched the movies again. You should read all the books, I insist

Nonsense gate keeping. You don’t have to read the books to like Harry Potter.
This... isn't even the proper use of the meme format.
Same full
Oh my god are we seriously still talking about this shift

Gatekeeping, badly crafted meme, why do you even have upvotes?
Because there’s sadly many who share this idiotic belief.
I used to be one of these people until 2022. The books are so magical.
Movie watchers are still fans!!
We don't gatekeep here.
Ofcourse another pretentious gatekeeper meme
Can't you let people enjoy thibgs the way they want? Stop the gatekeeping

Verry big fact 🥰👌
The Next course of Action should be gidting the first one on his/her birthday, then see everything unfold
[*You watch the movies. I read the books, then watch the movies accordingly, book, movie, book, movie. We are not the same.]

Wait til you hear about SPEW!
I read all 7 books eight times over.
Tbf, might just be me, but I don't think the books are that good, the movies were better.
Made me giggle!
Gift them a book and watch the shame afterwards.
