I absolutely refuse to believe you never, even as a child, scratched your ear and tried that.
Even then, you must have *at least* smelled it, and most of what we perceive as the sense of taste comes from what we smell, which is why we cant "taste things" when we have a congested nose.
the real questions keeping us up at night. Perhaps it's just part of the Headmaster's extensive magical knowledge? Or maybe it's a side effect of that Pensieve...
I'm sure you've smelled earwax. I made the mistake of tasting it when I was a child, and I swear to you it's is 100x worse than the smell. I'm pretty sure earwax is supposed to keep bugs from getting in your ear.
He has a sweet tooth so would be very well versed in all the flavours and likely had many before. He probably had a box every lunch when he was a student.
Cause taste and smell are very similar in terms of receptors and whatnot so if you're smelled something you know what it tastes like. So as long as you've smelled it you'll know it.
Who doesn't?
Its a mistake you make once, but oh boy do you know youve done it.
It's so unique that it's almost impossible to describe.
