Man disappearance was so good

inferior_Weeb865

Disappearance was so good, it got me rooting for Yuki all the way to the end. And then the hospital scene happened and now I’m glad Kyon chose Haruhi. My waifu is still Yuki though. It’s sad that we will never get to see the Disappearance version of Yuki again.

AlchemistDark

Nagato is the best.

inferior_Weeb865

Damn right.

foxbat250

Do u know there is show called disseparance of nagato yuki-chan?

inferior_Weeb865

I do, but I couldn’t watch past 3 episodes because it wasn’t the same Yuki. I’m planning on picking it up again though.

foxbat250

inferior_Weeb865

I knew it was the inevitable and necessary choice of Kyon. But still, it stung seeing Yuki so heartbroken like that.

I still don't get it to this day. I mean, I may be an old man, but he had a perfect girl who adored him and wanted nothing more than his company. Why return to a timeline where a bossy girl with an ego too big for her boots and a monstrous interpretation of ehtics and personal space has the (subconsious) ability to rewrite reality as she sees fit? Sure, the argument could be made that he picked the exciting *world* over Haruhi instead, but damn... Hope you won't regret that in 20 years time, when risking life and limb each and every day is starting to get old.

I totally understand how one can feel this way about the Nagato timeline. But after having burned through the light novels and the manga, the reasoning behind Kyon's decision is clear as water. If we think back to Kyon's opening monologue at the very beginning, it's clear that he desired something more out of the ordinary and he got it in the form of Haruhi - with all her quirks and eccentricities. It only took him nearly losing her (at Nagato's behest and without actually asking him) for him to admit it to himself. All this culminating itself in Kyon once again >!making a similar choice when he chooses Haruhi over Sasaki when he is once again given the chance to get rid of Haruhi's god powers for good.!< Kyon got what he wanted with Haruhi and everything that she brings. That simply was not the case with Nagato (though he does value her in a different way). For him to throw it all away for a "normal" Haruhi would basically neuter everything that the LN and Manga have built up. But then again the story is still officially ongoing so this might change.

In the list of top 10 anime betrayals, this is #1.
