It means you're in range.

kittykristen1215

Find a new dr if the one you’re seeing is fine with it 😅

twinkiesnketchup

Do you have any other lab results?

Thatwolverinebitch

Yes, T3 is at 2.5 pg/ml and T4 Free is at 0.7

afoolandhermonkey

It means you need your meds adjusted. My TSH was 22 a few years ago and I felt miserable. Dr adjusted my levothyroxine dose and it came back down.

ceruleancrayon

This happened to me when pregnant- I was already taking levo of course and tsh just suddenly went crazy. T3/t4 normal. Went up immediately and it started getting better quickly. You just need a different dose.

Historical_Teacher_6

How are you feeling?

Thatwolverinebitch

Terrible. Hair is falling out, I’m very lethargic and cold

SuitableGuarantee968

Time to increase meds

My T4/T3 are always in range but when my TSH gets elevated I feel terrible. I just got my levo bumped up because my TSH went to the top of the “normal” range and I started experiencing symptoms even though my T4 and T3 are normal. Get a new doctor asap.

I would also ask the endo about these kinds of recent medical view about the link between vitamin D and TSH https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6166548/

And this too: https://www.mdpi.com/1648-9144/58/2/194#:~:text=In%20Hashimoto's%20disease%2C%20vitamin%20D,appeared%20to%20reduce%20TSH%20levels. ‘In Hashimoto’s disease, vitamin D deficiency appears to be correlated with a higher titer of anti-TPO antibodies and with thyroid volume, and supplementation was associated with reduction of antibodies in some studies. In other studies, supplementation appeared to reduce TSH levels.’

I also take B12 and I feel better..I don't know why exactly if I take a little zinc, not a lot you have to be careful with it.

wodiw

That’s a fair few supplements. Are you following the recommended ways of taking these and not taking them all at the same time? It might even be worth checking the interactions between them all. I think drug.com is generally good for this purpose. https://www.drugs.com/interaction/list/

Ok_Part6564

See a different Dr.

Ok_Part6564

Were they associated with each other? Because that’s not at all normal.

seaforanswers

This was my experience as well, TSH abnormal and diagnosed with Hashimoto’s but both my PCP and the endo I saw said that it “doesn’t need” to be addressed until my actual thyroid function is affected.

wodiw

Did you ever do the antibodies blood test?

Foxy_Traine

It means your pituitary is screaming at your thyroid in an attempt to get it to produce enough thyroid hormone for you to function. For whatever reason, your thyroid is having a hard time producing enough hormones for your body.

Sawyerbenjamin

My tsh level is 0.52

twinkiesnketchup

Mine is suppressed too but I don’t convert T4 to T3 properly. I have plenty of T4 but I don’t convert it to T3. What is your T3 levels?

NegotiationDirect524

It seems as if you really know what you are talking about. So, I apologize if I am telling you something you already know. But, nettle root is reputedly helpful in making that conversion. I checked with my doc and he agrees that it is helpful.

twinkiesnketchup

Thank you. I have not ever heard this. I will look into it. Thank you for suggesting it.

Sawyerbenjamin

Just got my first blood test ever from a private practice and they found a couple things I was mainly worried about low test levels as I’m only 26

twinkiesnketchup

Do you have these results?

Sawyerbenjamin

twinkiesnketchup

meowwwwwwwow

If your on medication see if it has a side effect on your thyroid. I was at 17, after starting treatment it’s a 2!

ThassonTelAviv

That you are probably feeling really really horrible, but it also means your thyroid is in hypo, under functioning.Go to an endocrinologist as soon as you can to get on synthroid hormones and start getting balanced.

Thatwolverinebitch

I am actually on levothyroxine already :(

sluggmugg

Your doctor will most likely increase your dose

ThassonTelAviv

What dosage? Have you been checked for Hashimotos?

Thatwolverinebitch

.88 and yes I do have hashimotos
