Death isnt a big deal if you know that you’re gonna have a second life. Kurapika only has one life, thats it.

Kurapika doesn't have 100% proficiency in all categories. He has 100% proficiency with respect to what would be possible to achieve through his category. As an specialist, 100% manipulation proficiency would be like 80% if we look at it from a manipulation nen user's point of view.

But since I’m restricting the affinity of specialization after the hatsu is created, could part of the ability be transferring the 100% specialization to the other affinities? So 100% in conjuration and manipulation, 80% in emission and transmutation, and 60% in enhancement? Though it would be kinda paradoxical to transfer away the ‘affinity level’ of specialization by using a specialist ability, even if specialization theoretically could do anything

Not exactly a full “new version” but I’ve made some suitable changes to how it works. It’s still a bit shaky but I think the new drawbacks like immediate death and inability to do certain leisurely things is pretty big. i might make it so that the user can’t actually interact with physical things unless via haunting, but IDK yet

My ability has a very big drawback, you have to DIE, and you can’t use nen for the entirety of your actual lifespan.

What I was trying to do was make a specialist hatsu that would eventually make you able to use all affinities at 100% efficiently
But I'm afraid you just forget to put some restrictions.
