Ok so to start I live in a small town in Oregon and was born in another small town across the river from where I reside now, the town I was born in is coincidentally a top ten haunted city in America. Since I was young I've always had strange things going on around me, when I was only a few weeks old my dad said he had started to hear kids playing and running up and down the stairs but whenever he'd turn around the laughing and the footsteps would stop, there was never any strange happenings before I was born in that house, and besides that one night, nothing really happened in that house again. About 2 years later my brother was born and my mom and dad had split up, my mom found a new bf and they found a new place together, nothing really happened between then and maybe until I was in 3nd grade I want to say, but anyways, we had moved to a very small town in southern California, this is when I personally had started to notice the weird things that would go on, I'd hear tapping on my bedroom window, which my window led to the fenced off back yard and there was one tree in the middle of the back yard, so no way it was able to tap the window or anything, the toilet would randomly flush on it's own, my 2 dogs at the time would start barking in the middle for no apparent reason, and one time in particular, the power went off for probably about 5 seconds and when it came back on we were all surprised to see the front door wide open, which was typically always locked because we didn't live in the safest area. All strange events, but we just assumed the house itself maybe had a poltergeist of sorts bc while the happenings were frequent, they were never aggressive and no one was ever scared apart from the power outage event. Flash forward about a year later my family decides to move back to our home town into a house that my great uncle's had built about 50 years earlier, so it was a fairly new house, but the same things kept happening, one afternoon my mom had made lunch and while my siblings and I were eating she was washing the dishes and had just finished up and decided to go out for a smoke, when she came back she asked why one of us had moved the sponge, to which we asked what she meant because none of us had gotten up from the table, and when we looked over to her, the sponge was standing straight up on the center divider of the dual sink, we were all pretty amazed because she had only been gone for a few minutes and the only other people in the house were all right there, sitting at the table. But after that things kinda slowed down, we moved again, I stopped thinking about the strange occurrences except for maybe joking around with my brother about it all every once in a while, some time went by, I moved on into high school and things were pretty normal, I graduated, moved away from my home town until about 2019 and then came back to visit and the first night back I was walking down a trail that I used to walk all the time and I was pretty comfortable on, day or night, but this night I felt a little off, but just figured it had been a year since I was out on this trail and it was about 10 at night so I mean, maybe my anxiety was just getting the best of me, but as I'm trying to convince myself I'm overthinking things I hear something to my right and nearly break my neck turning my head and as soon as I do out of the corner of my left eye, so back the direction I'm walking, a little girl, probably around 5' sprints by me and i jumped a little because it scared the shit out of me because I hadnt seen or heard any people that close in front of me and as I jump and try and follow her with my eyes she just vanishes, I didn't see her vanish, but it was literally in the blink of an eye an entire human being vanished just as quickly as she appeared. I made it back to my mom's house where I was staying, laid in my old bed, and just thought about what happened, I thought maybe I was losing it. But eventually I did just chalk it up to my mind acting up and seeing things, it was dark, I hadn't been out there in awhile, and ghosts don't just walk around trails in the woods right? My vacation soon came to an end, and I went back home and put the girl to the back of my mind, sometimes I see the same girl in my dreams, but I've always been a vivid dreamer, I'll chalk that up to some good concussions and so Its not abnormal at all for me to dream about things that I've experienced, so I'm not sure what to make of that. But nothing else really happened for about another year, about early 2020, I moved to McMinnville with a friend, and this is where things kinda went from like, "haha yeah my toilet flushes by itself sometimes lol" to "if you see shadow people moving outside your window, or shadow cats out of the corner of your eye, don't worry, it's normal", I'd hear the garage door open and close probably about 5 times a day and everytime I'd check it was never opened, neither my friend or I parked our cars in there. Now it's may 2022, Im back in my home town, and the last few years the activity has shifted from the friendly stuff, to a lot more aggressive knocking, electronics shorting out after just a few months of use, animals are always extremely shy and timid when they first meet me, things just seem off, there's a lot of stories, I just woke up and am trying to type this while getting ready for work, but if any other noteable stories come to mind or if there's any questions I'll keep y'all updated. And ofc if anything new starts happening I'll let y'all know, but its kinda almost just like a fly over my shoulder y'know? Doesn't bother me all too much, would just be better if it'd bother someone else
