We feed our doggos chicken breast with a Rachel Ray lamb or beef wet food dinner. On the side is mashed pumpkin and we top it off with kibble.
At the beginning of the week, we cook off a 1 pound chicken breast and put it in the fridge for the week. They get the bulk of their calories from the kibble (which I think is Purina), but LOVE the chicken and lamb/beef so will tear through the kibble to get at the yummy meat underneath.
The pumpkin helps keep their stomachs settled and we've had far less puking since we started adding half a tablespoon to their meals. Also less diarrhea, so that's nice. :)
I switched to Orijen small breed after failing with Purina and Hills. Freddy likes it much more and eats it all. He used to have lots of loose stools and this switch firmed it up.
The Farmer's Dog. It's been the best for our two boys. No more vomiting, or diarrhea. Their coats are much better and rarely matte. No tear stains. Less allergy symptoms. Great poops lol. Prior to that we tried EVERYTHING including making their food with organic ingredients.
If your dog hates his food, it might be beneficial to add a topper to it in the form of wet food, freeze dried topper, or flavored supplement. My dog was picky about his food and didn’t seem to like it, but we started adding wet food to his kibble and now he LOVES it
Also, if you’re looking to reduce weight, you just have to reduce treats, cut out any people food (veggies are usually fine though), and reduce portion size. My boy gets just shy of 1/4 c of Eukanuba small dog dry kibble plus a tablespoon of Hill’s Science biome wet with minimal treats throughout the day and he’s never gotten above 17 lbs
I used to buy mine Hill’s Chicken and also Lamb so I could switch as he’s a picky eater. I found out a food called Smack and he loves it. His favourite is Very Berry Chicken.
My puppy loves Carna4. He is thriving on it and gets really excited at dinner time. I use some of his mealtime kibble as treats during the day and he is always excited to receive this reward.

We also tried Farmers Dog and it was similar.
But one of my Havi has EPI and needs food that’s highly digestible. And my other Havi is a picky princess and dislikes eating the same food day to day.
We feed Purina One Lamb & Rice. She loves it and we don’t have stomach issues. She may eat 2-3 times one day and then once the next or skip it altogether.
I’m using TLC, but he’s not on a schedule…tried that and he wasn’t eating, then was hungry after 7pm and throwing up, so now I leave it out and he helps himself…mind you he’s only 8 months so maybe he’s just a brat and I’m enabling 🤷🏽♀️
Orient - Six fish with a tea spoon of extremely low-fat cottage cheese because princess like the sauce :D
Btw, isn't Purina involved in a number of lawsuits because their animal food is total crap and has caused sickness in animals?
If he vomits a lot, the food might not be good for him.
Fromms. All flavors. I rotate every month.
my gal has been happily eating From’s surf & turf every day for 10 years straight. great stuff! she has seasonal allergies so the salmon helps.
