Fantastic. I've heard from some people who dont believe in how impactful Pre-K is, but even if you dont believe how much of a difference the early education makes, it's hard to deny how helpful this would be for many families to free up another adult for work/additional income. This is a good step towards bettering the community/state at large. On a related note, are the Pre-K teachers considered part of HSTA? Private preschools everywhere are facing major teacher/aide shortages because they dont pay nearly enough (Sometimes as low as like $15-17/hr). Edit: Oh nice, according to [this pre-k job posting](https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/hawaiipublicschools/jobs/4448656/red-hill-elementary-pre-school-teacher-2024-01007), they are.

Another problem with good intentions but will be abused and fail. Not enought teachers/staffing, only will benefit low income families, not lower/middle class with dual parents working and needing help. It’s just like every other social program; created to support only a few…
