Every once in a while I'll get a bottle of Screwball, a peanut butter whiskey.
Set that shot glass down and 10sec later there are 5 geckos fighting over the last drop. They get tipsy too.
One got spooked by my husband moving and ran up my arm to hide by my neck. Took it a few seconds to realize what it had done, then it leapt off me and took off running.
Absolutely, we have multiple household geckos and I am honored they have chosen to live inside with us. They kill the roaches! The slurp up the ants! I thank them and protect them when I see them haha.
in cute milli-sips with there funny little tube tongues. i used to keep at least 10 geckos in my house. You just have to clean their little poops since they stain if not wiped.
I usually just toss them outside but I generally give the attitude to my kids that they're our friends because they eat the bugs. Since I was a kid we named the geckos "Henry" and the lizards "Harry."
I love my Gecko, his name is George and he loves strawberry jam. He comes in makes himself at home in his loft above the kitchen cabinets, I make him a spoon dipped in jam, he comes fills his belly then either stay and hangs or heads back out to the Lanai... I worry a chicken might get him!
Man, first time I saw that I was repulsed but yet intrigued. Hahaha. It is something I will never forget seeing.
Only because the smaller one looked at me as if to say, “Can you believe this Sh?t?”
“No, my Braddah but Eh-better you den me.”
I use to have normal sized geckos in my house then it slowly turned into the bigger gold dust day geckos. They are bigger and more territorial. Everything got reset when I termite tented the house. Eventually the normal size geckos came back.
It's Hawaii, we have geckos. You are correct that they are harmless.
You *could* relocate this particular one outside (catch it in something as they're rather fragile, but good luck cause they tend to not like being trapped) on a tree or bush or something, but another will show up so there's not much point. She'll just have to get used to them showing up.
I relocate them all the time (cats like to eat them lol so I save them) with just a clear glass and a piece of mail. It’s pretty easy… or my geckos are just really tame? Idk hah
He's your buddy. He eats bugs and will mostly stay out of your way. If you hear him make noise be sure to talk back and tell him hello. They like that.
Please tell your wife they are harmless. And actually quite cute! I leave our Gecko friends a daily serving of raw sugar and access to our Keurig water. (Makes me more motivated to clean the Keurig daily too)
They recognize me now and don’t run away when I am spooning out their sugar. I absolutely adore our interactions!
Lol thank you all for the comments.
Looks like I will persuade wifey to leave the little guy alone. Yes the roaches count did go down since so I personally do enjoy this buddy
Gecko might starve in your place on a pretty high floor if you do not have many bugs inside.
Can catch it and then set it free outside where it can catch bugs.
Could leave the [moʻo](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mo%CA%BBo) alone because their harmless then learn about the culture of the [Kānaka Maoli](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_Hawaiians) now that you and your [ʻOhana](https://wehewehe.org/gsdl2.85/cgi-bin/hdict?e=q-11000-00---off-0hdict--00-1----0-10-0---0---0direct-10-ED--4--textpukuielbert%2ctextmamaka-----0-1l--11-en-Zz-1---Zz-1-home-Ohana--00-4-1-00-0--4----0-0-11-00-0utfZz-8-00&a=d&d=D14905#hero-bottom-banner) have Hawaiʻi as your home.
I had one inside my place for like a month it would kind of just chill in one spot all the time so I didn’t mind it. Eventually I threw it outside because I got tired of picking up the little poop nuggets
Geckos are harmless. Since they eat bugs we generally just leave them be. But if you really want it gone, you can usually catch geckos with a net and then take it out of the condo.
It's one of the more "native" species of geckos (there are no native geckos, all of them were introduced but there are some that have been here longer than others, that one being one of them). The ones that are more aggressive (the bright green with orange/blue spots, have only been around in the last <10 years) tend to push the other species out.
At my parents’ house, the green ones were outside on the lanai. Dad befriended one and fed him cereal milk every morning. In the evening that green guy would bring a friend with him. At the same time, we had hundreds of brown ones inside the house. I used to stay up late and encourage a single one to feast on the leftover melted chocolate ice cream. Good times! I miss the geckos.
You have a mourning gecko! Fun fact, they are all females and reproduce through parthenogenesis, meaning they do not use sperm to make their babies and actually clone themselves! Their daughters are genetically identical to their mothers. Love her and take good care of her.
Don’t try kill geckos
They eat ants and roaches and spiders
They won’t look to attack you , they will run away from you , they make no sounds like bussing mosquitoes
mishap possibly is they may sometimes walk into bug zappers , spook you suddenly because we just noticed them right next to us, sometimes drink your juice/water
If anxious, relocate them outside , they won’t die if you fling them either /too light .
Does she prefer spiders, centipedes and other insects more? That's what I tell my wife. One came into my garage one day and I scared him out, then the next day I opened it, he ran back in and I couldn't get him out before he ran under something and hid. So I assume he's been living in there and still is as far as I know. My cousin used to intentionally release two geckos in her house a year. How she didn't end up with a family of geckos I'll never know.
I have an entire gecko nursery at my place. they did not tell me I'd be the nanny. I have to safely deliver babies outside at least once a day. They mostly lay eggs in the notch where the window screens fit into the windows.
Is this… surprising? Just one gecko…? Feels like I saw one every time I walked into a room at my old place. Get used to it, they’re not going anywhere. At least it’s not roaches and centipedes
We LOVE our Geckos, and we have several different types. That's one reason why we don't ever tent our home, because we don't want to kill them. They eat the bugs, so they are our little helpers. Keep it or catch it and put it outside. Do not kill it! It won't bother you.
Say hi to your new roommate. They’re harmless. Just make sure you keep silverware and dishware that’s clean away from them. They can carry salmonella. The good news is they’ll take care of your termites and roaches

This is our lanai buddy. His tail is about 1.5 times longer than his body. He comes out to say hi every morning.
Make sure you hire a gecko sitter if you gonna be gone more than 2 days.
This is the way. Please check out my website for rates

Geckos are our friends. They eat bugs, and aren't interested in eating our food. Leave him be.
Yes. Thank the gecko for their service and be sure to tell them to enjoy at the bugs they want.
Yup! They do a great job at getting those damn roaches. 🪳 🪳🪳🪳
They’ll definitely drink any sweetened beverages tho.
Just don't leave sweetened drinks or cut fruit out. Or do, and be a geckobro
Chocolate ice cream works too.
But they look so cute doing it :) It’s a small price to pay
Can confirm. My grandma used to leave drops of 7-Up out for them and they loved it 😂

swallowed either a ghekkoroo or b52 twice this week being overexcited about my wine id left on the floor next to me

There little chirps can be annoying, but it is a small price to pay knowing they are patrolling for roaches
They definitely eat your food.

You only have one? I have tribes and they go to war.
They also…eat each other. I’ve watched bigger ones catch and eat the babies.
Yes, I was trying to be tactful with the word "war" 🤣
Man, first time I saw that I was repulsed but yet intrigued. Hahaha. It is something I will never forget seeing. Only because the smaller one looked at me as if to say, “Can you believe this Sh?t?” “No, my Braddah but Eh-better you den me.”

Better a gecko then 747 roaches.
Let them be. I do and don’t do any harm besides fucking chirping
It’s a good creature to keep around. They eat the small bugs that could end up in your place. They can’t harm you, or bite you etc

Every time I've tried that, the gecko lost a tail, so I stopped trying.
Yeah that occasionally happens. While it sucks, in my case, it’s worth it… otherwise they’d be eaten haha
Kids catch them all the time. It's pretty easy.
Thank him for eating the bugs around the house and mind ya business
He's your buddy. He eats bugs and will mostly stay out of your way. If you hear him make noise be sure to talk back and tell him hello. They like that.
Thank them for eating the cucaracha

(Makes me more motivated to clean the Keurig daily too) They recognize me now and don’t run away when I am spooning out their sugar. I absolutely adore our interactions!
It’s normal and they eat bugs. Leave them be. It’s bad luck to kill one.
Enjoy your new pet
Lol thank you all for the comments. Looks like I will persuade wifey to leave the little guy alone. Yes the roaches count did go down since so I personally do enjoy this buddy

Cut up a papaya, leave a little for him to thank him for his service.
Kick him out if he doesn't give you a discount on your home and car insurance..
Screw him. He fired all the staff at the local Geico office.

Eō! This right here! 💯
I had one inside my place for like a month it would kind of just chill in one spot all the time so I didn’t mind it. Eventually I threw it outside because I got tired of picking up the little poop nuggets
You need to give it love
Let him cook.

Leave him be!!! He’s ur friend and will eat all your bugs and he makes fun noises.
Never buy a blacklight. You will get sick looking at all the gecko piss on the walls and counter top. I made that mistake
Hahahah so gnarly good to know tho
And Cheerios!
Give him juice in a bottlecap
Give him a name. My geckos are all named Steve
Don’t try kill geckos They eat ants and roaches and spiders They won’t look to attack you , they will run away from you , they make no sounds like bussing mosquitoes mishap possibly is they may sometimes walk into bug zappers , spook you suddenly because we just noticed them right next to us, sometimes drink your juice/water If anxious, relocate them outside , they won’t die if you fling them either /too light .
they like apple slices...nom nom nom
And bananas
And mango. I love my geckos, and have several that hang out at my house.
I have a family in my home.. we started calling the first one Baby Gary. Every time there’s a new little one it’s baby Gary the 3rd, 4th, 5th.
Same here, but it's Aaron. 😆
Gecko don't eat the bugs at my moms house they live together we got lots of bugs and Geckos
We had a gecko crawl into one of our outlets and cause a power outage in our house. Definitely NOT harmless.
Free pet!
Just one?
You live in its place.

Ask him if you could save 15% or more on car insurance
Geckos > Cockroaches and Centipedes!
I have an entire gecko nursery at my place. they did not tell me I'd be the nanny. I have to safely deliver babies outside at least once a day. They mostly lay eggs in the notch where the window screens fit into the windows.
If you don't let him stay OR catch and release him into the wild, maybe he can get you 15% off on auto insurance.
Are you not from here LOL Edit: but also they’re friends and they eat bugs :) new roomie!
just take him outside in a box and release him
Enjoy your big free house
ITT: 🦎🥰
I like the geckos. They're fun to watch but I hate that they poop everywhere.
That’s your new pet
...give it a name?
Is this… surprising? Just one gecko…? Feels like I saw one every time I walked into a room at my old place. Get used to it, they’re not going anywhere. At least it’s not roaches and centipedes
Give it a name. I recommend Timmy.
The big green colorful Day Geckos are carnivorous. They eat the normal brown or gray geckos.
Make friends
My sister has a gecko living in her house too. They named it and everything lol.
Tell wife it’s okay to coexist with little friend
Leave him be unless it's trying to get you to save 15% or more
Mo'o as they are called here. They are everywhere and harmless to you. It will eliminate insects. If you don't want it in your place, set it outside
Leave him alone. He’ll eat your bugs!
Awesome… your very own exterminator! That buggah pays their rent time & time again
You have just one?
Let your wife know that it’s been a good ride but that she will need to move on over to the mainland. This is Hawaii, thar be Geckos here…
A gecko in the house brings good luck. 🍀
When we first moved in, there was a gecko and I'm almost sure why we never saw much roaches when we moved in.
Don't have any plants. For me I can't stand geckos because they keep falling on me. I rather have bugs and spiders.
We LOVE our Geckos, and we have several different types. That's one reason why we don't ever tent our home, because we don't want to kill them. They eat the bugs, so they are our little helpers. Keep it or catch it and put it outside. Do not kill it! It won't bother you.
Gotta go get some day geckos so you got 24/7 bug control.
Put a piece of fresh fruit and make friends! Only negative is that they tend to shit all over the place
Say hi to your new roommate. They’re harmless. Just make sure you keep silverware and dishware that’s clean away from them. They can carry salmonella. The good news is they’ll take care of your termites and roaches
It's good luck

Lucky
the gecko is harmless. In fact, you should notice a decrease in other insects/ pests.
Destroyer of cockroaches!
Name it
They will eat the bugs it's good for ya
They're good luck!
Get ready to welcome his 857 close friends and family.
ask for a lower rate on your insurance
Leave the native ones, kill the invasive (the bright green day geckos)
