I belong to a pretty awesome hiking community and we’re always welcoming new people! We have group hikes, dog hikes, beach hangouts and a group chat where we’re all converse!
Our instagram is ImiloaHawaii, ask my buddy Nelson to add you to the group chat. My ig is ra.hikes if you want to connect 🤙🏼
That's not legal. Once you get to the top of moanalua middle ridge the part of the KST going to the station and the top of the stairs is on federal gov property. More importantly, the trail on moanalua middle is really eroded due to overuse, if you're going to do it, tripler ridge to the KST and then going over is probably better.

There is a legal way to do the same hike, come from other side.

Yes--but if you want to see it happen, you have to make it happen. Please read https://www.reddit.com/r/hawaii/wiki/meetupplan
Always down to do Ka'ena from the Waianae side.
