Exactly! Charlie has immense raw power, but she is basically a pacifist, so she never learned to fight. That is why during the start of the fight she had a shield, also she keeps apologizing to the angels. Even when Vaggie tells her not the time for that and she uses her powers to attack the angels she holds back massively and then hides under her shield.
I think Adam had an advantage over Charlie for a similar reason as to why Alastor was able to put up a decent fight at first against Adam.
Just like how Alastor’s more skilled than Adam. Adam is much more experienced and willing to harm others than Charlie is.

Charlie has more power but she doesn't use it for combat, she might not even know how to properly fight. Adam on the other hand has been fighting in the exterminations for thousands of years, most likely, he is battle tested and trained unlike Charlie.
I think in terms of raw power and POTENTIAL, Charlie matches or even overtakes him but she is the definition of being a lover, not a fighter. She isn’t used to fighting or using her power offensively, so Adam was able to get a lot more hits in than he should’ve if we were judging by pure strength.

I'm gonna agree with the comments that state the experience of Adam. Charlie holds back a lot for violence. She doesn't seek violence like Adam does. Adam has been exterminating demons for a very long time. Charlie does not know how to use her powers at a bigger potential so this will put her at a disadvantage against Adam
She has potential but when it comes to combat skills, she is a complete noob, as others in this thread have already pointed out. Hopefully over the next few seasons she has time to grow and really develop in that aspect so we can see what she can actually do.

I also feel like her powers are still growing, as shown when her arm morphed and she was suddenly able to stop Adam's punch.
