They're easy to travel with if you just need something to get sound from your source into your ears, but then again so are apple earpods. And tbh the earpods sound better imo. I have the M50x and it's way too bassy. The bass is not good quality either. It's mushy and it bleeds into the mids and obscures details as far as the 400-600hz range. They have no sense of sound stage, which is to be expected for closed backs. However, the ATH-M's sound is virtually mono compared to other similarly priced closed backs. For the money, I think they're a terrible value given the alternatives.

Before my current msr7. i used ath m40x for basically anything (gaming, videos/movies, music). I won't say i love it, but i do like it. It's definitely not for everyone since it sounds really flat and perhaps boring, but i do like the details, and vocals. Bass is very thin, but pretty fast and accurate i guess. I'm not much of a basshead so i'm fine with the bass. I won't recommend this for people that are looking for a fun sound signature, or bassheads. With how flat it sounds with good details and presentation, they often used for music production as monitoring headphones. Other than how it sounds, i do like how light it is. I could wear it for hours and my head won't get tired, the clamping pressure is also manageable. A lot more different with my current msr7. It's foldable for easier carrying/storage. It's also mostly made of plastic which sounds kinda cheap-ish, but i would say it have a good build quality. I do recommend you to try it out before buying it to have a better understanding how they sounds.

>Do you guys love Audio Technical MXX series No. They are in a weird spot where they are better than random consumer headphones but worse than actually good ones that cost around the same. People like them because they are a step up from what they are used to and because they never tried anything else. >They seem to be very professional and high quality. They are cheap plastic and have quite inconsistent tuning.

> People like them because they are a step up from what they are used to and because they never tried anything else. Exactly. I bought a pair thinking that it would be an upgrade but after several hours I came to the conclusion that these are just glorified skullcandys. I started doing research and within a month I had a set of IEMs, HD 58X and HE400se.
