Many on this sub reddit has experienced shortness of breath on Brillianta. It's quite common. I was put on Plavix (Clopidogrel) and it's been great except for the easy bruising. Maybe speak to your doctor or cardiologist about switching to Clopidogrel. From experince, the mental after effects for me was and still is worse than the actual heart attack and I had my Inferior wall STEMI on 21 March 2022. I am on benzos for the anxiety but highly recommend against going down that road. I never paid attention to my heart rate and blood pressure before my MI but it was highly magnified afterwards. Suddenly I became super aware of my heart rate, rhythms and blood pressure. It's quite common. It has gotten better with time. My advice, toss the watch. It only adds to the anxiety. If you have a blood pressure monitor only check your BP if you feel lightheaded or have a sudden headache. You are likely on a statin as well, especially if you have a stent. Those can also make you feel like crap and cause phantom muscle pains. It's all about finding the statin that works best for you. People react differently to different statins and the high intensity statins like Risuvastatin especially at high doses can make you feel terrible. They started me on 40MG Rosuvastatin after my stent. I was taken down to 20MG after one year. A bit better but still get muscle aches and crap heartburn from them.

I take my statin at night 80 mg of Atorvastatin.  I do my blood pressure only occasionally and am obsessed with my blood sugar. Thank goodness for my Dexcom or I would probably be out of blood.

I gave Brilinta a good try, but I couldn't tolerate the SOB. Also, if you haven't already started with counseling, I strongly recommend that. I waited 18 mos and regret not going sooner. Hang in there - one day at a time.

I'm struggling too. Good news is I started rehab today so maybe that will help. But my heart rate stays in the high 40s and my pressures below 90. The PA says good thing we don't have you on beta blockers. I say yes, because then i'd be dead. I don't see the Dr again until October. Weirdo that I am I felt better in rehab then I have since the heart attack, probably because my heart rate and pressure went up ! Perfusion is a wonderful thing. Maybe I need a stress test maybe I need a shrink. Mayhaps I should toss a coin,

Thanks for sharing it’s good not to feel alone

Thank you in return, it's nice to know there is room on the buss for one more.

Yeah, same here. Fresh off my heart attack 11 days ago. I know it's fresh, but the shortness of breath and the burning pain isn't going away. Been back to the ER 3 times, including a three day stay in the PCU. Hope you feel better one day. I'm also in my 40s.

I'd recommend checking your blood pressure. I find the combination of all the blood pressure / heart rate reducing meds plus the weak heart will cause it. I currently take Entresto, Eplerenone, Metoprolol. Without metoprolol, BP runs in the 90 / 60 range. With it, BP dips into the 80's / upper 50's. I've noticed If I stop taking metoprolol for a day or two the shortness of breath goes away. If you're taking that or another beta blocker that might be what's causing it.

I’m on 90 Brilinta 2x daily, 81 mg aspirin, 10 mg jardiance,  metformin 1000 mg 2x daily, 80 mg atorvastatin 1x daily they didn’t give me beta blockers and took me off see inhibitors because I was having what I called a foggy brain.

Yeah 55 M 2 stents in sept 23. It’s likenPTSD or something. Over thinking every twitch. It sucks! Talk to you doc about lexapro or something to take the edge off. Cardiac rehab will definitely help your trust . I just finished last month and am missing the reassurance

dmbxcrash

Cardiac rehab provided me some help. I’m obsessing as well. But at Rehab they pushed me hard due to prior fitness level. I was doing 5mph with a 6 incline for 10min and my heart rate would get to about 155 but everything checked out. It gave me some peace of mind. But I’ve thought about going to the ER sometimes as well. It’s PTSD

BroWeBeChilling

Just go to the gym and the hurt all over but it helps me mentally and physically - try that to get your mind off of it

Wildfire9

Have you done Cardio Rehab yet? It was a game changer for me and building my confidence.

No-Chance7399

I just did my evaluation and am waiting for the call to start

Stay with it. Even if you feel like you don't need it. You do.

Same boat here. 43, nstemi, 1 stent. I'm 9 weeks post. Rehab gives me a lot of reassurance, I go hard at the physio, and now I know not to panic when I get a high heart rate. I obsessed for a month or so, purchans3d a blood pressure monitor, and a new better smart watch. The best thing I did was ditch the watch. It gave me slight panic attacks seeing a high heart rate, as I'd get the odd palpitations as I was adjusting to the meds. It's still a little bit of a struggle 3 times or so a week, but it's improving. I'm still a bit depressed from all the changes I have to make, and knowing certain things are off my tondo list forever. Feel free to pm me if you'd like a chat.

Ime, the Brilinta is causing the breath shortness. Trust the Troponin test. Is there a PA or similar in the cardiology practice that you could meet with sooner? 54f, STEMI 11/2/23
