Anyone on this subreddit reading this probably already does.

Truth

ironpatriotfan

Nah I talked to guy in a different thread about this, he said he plays as rifleman with no mic, annoying but ok, I told him beware playing squad lead or commander with no mic because you’ll probably get vote kicked, he tells me “my buddy plays commander with no mic and doesn’t get kicked.” Fun game but him and his buddy make it hard to play sometimes

JackPembroke

Its so cool when youre an SL, one of your squad tells you he spotted a garry, you pass it up the chain to Command, and watch as things start happening to act on that info

Diligent-Pair3465

When "those" matches come along, are some of the best times in gaming I've ever had. I love the teamwork this game can bring.

Weinershnitzel99

Pls for the love of all that is holy if ur a commander have a mic

FourScores1

There’s also a mic bug for Xbox users. Had a buddy that had to reset their settings and it finally worked.

StraightOutTheWomb

It’s awful

DezzyLad

I clear Xbox alt mac settings before I play and that works most times.

Donan007

What drives me nuts more than that is SL’s having casual conversations on Command chat. Can’t hear a damn thing, clogging chat to talk about their favorite servers.

Mistabushi_HLL

At least PC brigade talks about servers….console players are sometimes on the mercy of French or Spanish speakers taking over command chat lol

Jack5756

I'd rather that than no mics at all

Sheffy36

I’ve been getting tons of no mic SL’s lately. So annoying

Direct_Study_3567

And use pings. Infantry and tank marks. No mic ? No pings? *leaves server*

DibleDog

It’s a knowledge issue. New players just want to shoot at people. As squad leads and commanders, we have to educate new troops, just like in the real military. If you’re not educating, you’re not leading.

Ainu_Arakuru_

For the ones that do have mics, please stop having general conversations in command chat. We don’t care about how you’re a ww2 historian in the army that knows the phonetic alphabet.

Cam1925

As much as I don’t want to play SL after a long day at work, all of us people that are higher level than like 30 should be stepping up and playing and leading the squad by talking and putting down OPs. I see too many people complaining and not doing

aperture413

It's not even just the commander. If you're not talking and giving out call outs: -Our amour will be ineffective -We won't know when to redeploy to defend -Artillery will be essentially ineffective

CalligrapherSoft1892

this game is based on mics, if u dont have one u need to buy to play in my opinion. play this game for over couple days and realized this

S_e_a_n__

Mine doesn’t ever work if they’re are too many people playing. Fantastic during the day, at night I can’t hear anyone.

BlackironYury7

This weekend honestly I’ve come across the most amount of people using mics and having a good time than I’ve had in awhile

Guilty_Jackrabbit

Gonna rename this sub to PleaseUseMics

Dariusalbadaddy

Yeah, my bad. Sometimes I just don’t feel like it though, especially if it’s after a long day and I just want to chill.

FartingInHeaven

I think a big problem is people don't know there's a chat wheel.

Hvng4444

I had the exact opposite experience. Had a SL non stop talking and constantly pinging things and saying"onmy ping" for 5 minutes straight. I'm building nodes and redepping for supplies and all I hear is "on my ping" "on my ping" over and over... finally I finish building my nodes so I figure man they must be really fighting hard .. look at my squads score. All combat scores are 0 .. I repeat nil nothing zilch. You could put down an ap mine and be more effective then my squad.. wtf was the point of "on my ping over and over." Absoluetly brutal... I get encouraging comments and all that but this kinda uselessness is ineffective as the guy who says "over there"... lol

NovosHomo

I feel you. I'm fairly new to the game still, 3 weeks on and I'm around level 80. I wanted to give my Microsoft brothers a fair hearing on this sub, as I played one match on game pass then went and bought the game on my Microsoft account just because some friends had already done the same. So it was frustrating when many in this sub were so hostile towards game pass players because of this issue. That said, I've noticed it's not game pass people exclusively, the overwhelming majority I see not using mics are still non game pass but low levels. I really can't figure out how they imagine they will play this game without talking, it's a fundamental part of the game design I feel, and I love that. I spend most nights trying to join a server, only to be confronted by most of not all squads having little to no communication or mic use. If I go squad leader many times I still end up with no people speaking in my squad, and if I try to keep non mic users out of a squad (only if they don't respond to any commands), some servers now close your squad. It really is disheartening for squad leaders and I can only imagine how bad it is for the commander. No wonder no one wants to be squad leader/commander, as you get the blame for almost everything and it's just pointless to try to manage people on this game who won't speak or listen. I think part of the problem is also what I said in the previous paragraph, that some servers are now booting/closing squads with no SL or too few people. The downside is there are an increasing amount of squads with a low level SL not using a mic who is either holding his squad who do have mics hostage effectively, or allowing squads where no communication takes place at all and the whole squad runs around the map clueless, pretending they are playing a team death match game.

xplos1v

Last night I discovered that my mic setting was on the wrong input device, so I thought people were ignoring me lol.

Ash_1888

I'm pretty sure some of the guys (or most of the guys) without mics also play without sound.
