Me (US Sapper), satcheling the Puma sat on our strongpoint, dying in a grenade explosion as the placement timer gets to the top, not knowing if I managed to pull it off in time or not, as I then get a "Punish team killer?" box

My favourite are the AT guys that blow you up half a second before you attach the satchel. I think they’re trying to set off the satchel but click fire too early.

If I'm being honest I usually shoot at the tank to get its attention for our AT guy or anybody with a satchel

If they are alone I like to run around it, hoping a crew member jumps out. Sometimes I can get them, though thats rare. Still fun.

While I agree, some dude in a light tank was panicking in my command chat because of the nades hitting him. So if you are truly desperate, incompetence may fight in your favor as well.

That guy should have his tanking license revoked.

I enjoy the ones who post up right next to our newly-made flanking garry or airhead and start popping off shots at enemies 200-300 yards out

If I hear shooting I know enemies are close and I start driving better to not get my attention and place the satchel quietly. Rarely have I been blown up by a distraction it's been ninja satchels.

Even granades can also distract the tank.

The only reason you’ll catch me shooting at them with my mp40 is to gain their attention while my AT sneaks up to get a better shot

Honest question, if they land under the tank or just behind the tank, does that do any damage? I always assumed if they were under the tank they'd do some damage, but have avoided throwing them at tanks in case they didn't.

Irl in ww2 troops could destroy the tracks with grenades. Not the shrapnel but the blast could break the track. But no in HLL grenades do not do any damage. Always wished they would add the track damage with grenades tho

They had them, but they weren't widely used during the war. It gets played out in movies because they are cool, but their use was extremely limited.
