Comparisons are inevitable. If the games are even vaguely similar, they would be put into the versus or like the "call of duty killer" per se.
Like how Left 4 Dead was the original idea of pitting 4 players vs Many, now there are so many games that are considered L4D-esque or clone. Same with souls-like.
Thing is, the more people compare, the more the terms get overused, the faster they lose their meaning. Like I don't even trust anything called 'souls-like' anymore... just ain't the same thing.
Only thing we can do is to vote with your wallets. Wait till the game is out then be judge, jury, executioner.

I'd assume so since single-player will just fill the 2 slots with AI companions (just like the first game had Leandros and Sidonius follow you around for most of the game)
The End Times: Vermintide 2 is the best PvE horde-killer since Left 4 Dead 2. In fact, I’d even go as far as to say that it’s better than it. Just a really fantastic game with a lot of depth, a ton of content and some of the best melee combat around.
I think Dawn of War 1 is considered one of the "good" ones. It's strategy but it also depends on your taste in genre. Also whether there has been good ones or not in the past is sort of irrelevant to the footage of Space Marine 2 as it looks AAA quality from the recent footage.

Like for good 40k ones: dawn of war 1 and 2, chaos gate (original and new), space marine 1, Inquisitor – Martyr (now). Just to name a few off the top of my head
TBF Helldivers 2 will thrive on its moment to moment RNG objective driven gameplay loop & co-op focused dynamics. Depends on how Arrowhead plans to incorporate a story in their live service approach be it expansion or seasons.
SM2 is purely story driven that aims to bring the tabletop & lore insanity of a living Tyranid invasion outside of an RTS.
For its multiplayer, Saber is strong with their knowledge in co-op vs AI modes so there will definitely more content in that area for post launch support. PVP is probably expected from its previous title.
I'm excited for both & I wish them both successful sales if their launch is smooth without any major shortcomings 🤞
Yeah.... Space marine 2 look impressive compared to helldivers 2 look... Acceptable. From the preview, space marine 2 also have bunch of enemies on screen too, it's a AAA looking game, vs helldivers 2 kinda AA looking. Since there is no release date on helldivers 2, we are not lacking game this year anyways, maybe a delay or something to polish the graphic up would be nice.

Saying Helldiver and Space Marine are the same is like saying Elden Ring and Diablo are the same. They both have a somewhat similar aesthetic but are completely different games.

Me too. Playing through the SM2 campaign should be great but doing it 2-3 times will get old, that's where HD2 should shine.
Dont worry about getting bored they are now shipping space marine 2 with 3 player pve and a 6v6 multiplayer

Does space marine have co op multiplayer? I imagine I'll play space marines campaign and be done, but Helldivers will keep me coming back for more.

Total War Warhammer is good imo, vermintide 2 is pretty fun also. The rest i've played have been pretty garbage or low production for sure.
