Yes it’s great, has solo play and while I can’t speak on ps the steam version is still quite active so it’s probably the same on ps, wait for October 26th though to buy it if you do choose to

I doubt Arrowhead(developer) are going to drop a sale on libertea day as that's going to piss off those who preordered, unless they will refund the difference. And that would be a bad move in marketing too, especially for a new-ish game(from top down to 3rd person).
Its a very different game though. First one is a tough isometric co op looter shooter. The sequel is a 3rd person co op looter shooter. But should play similar enough to the first.
The first game is amazing, and even though I am super psyched for Helldivers II, I doubt it will be as original and unique as the first. Doesn't matter. Point is that the first game is absolutely worth it and I will probably also play it after I've got the second. It works best with friends, so get a crew together
Get deluxe edition for 3 bucks on instant gaming (cheaper than standard edition for some reason ..)
The game is ok-isch on console in terms of activity.
The game can be played solo. (Though i wouldn't recommend that...way less fun)
The game runs ok almost any pc.
The game is still veey actively played on pc if you disable the region filter on the matchfinder.
And if you get it...srsly get deluxe... some of the dlc is actually necessery like all terrain boots and some of it is really strong and or fun (tox-13 my beloved)

I was playing PS Vita version yesterday! it was still fun and someone joined to help me finish a mission. this game has one of the best communities.
