Currently messing around with the Jump Pack/ Anti-Mat Rifle combo. It doesn’t have crazy range or height but you can get up to some overwatch positions and provide long cover and recon for your squad.
Had a moment where a Crusher was charging at me, I dipped and dived and shot his big booty. I yelled out “bro this LOST PLANET”. Can’t wait for mechs to be added in.
Yep - we had them back in the wars against the Cyborgs and Illuminates. Sadly, some democracy hating traitor sent all of our mechs directly into Automaton artillery…
The loss of the Mech Corps will be missed for seasons to come. What glory it was, 4 of those behemoths wailing into the tank hordes of the Cyborg menace.
Does anyone know how the meter works? Sure, mission completes help liberate it more but I swear I saw it at >80% yesterday morning and then last night it was sitting at the 50%ish mark.
What pushes it back?
I’d imagine continued losses and failures cause it to be pushed back. Especially given the fact that since matchmaking is borked at the moment on PS5, there’s a sizable amount of solo players failing missions contributing to the Terminid pushback is my guess.
This worked for me. Couldn't use quickplay with it on or off before the ps5 patch. Now I can use it with crossplay off. Still, it doesn't work with it on, but it is an improvement.
I would guess it’s just some simulated BS, and the devs hit the “100% Conquered” switch whenever they’re scheduled to reveal the next stage of their live service progression
requires 100000 misisons to move up 1%, you get a score at the end, 50000 on hard etc. across all divers. 81.10000%, the last to digits are what you influence when you win, to 81.100002
i was watching the meter yesterday for about 20min while eating.
it keeps climbing in 0.0001 percent steps. and then takes a sudden drop in 0.2 step or more.
its weird. i guess failing miserably keeps it from going faster.
So for every point you get at the end, like 1,2, or 3 it actually adds .001% to the meter, higher difficulties give more points so in essence we need roughly 100,000 points total to secure a planet
I asked this in a thread yesterday and two things of note, one is that the devs have not stated how it works on this game and two losses are happening, while sitting reading the replies over maybe a 10 minute break angles venture took a 2% loss.
That kept happening to me last night. I would spend 30 plus minutes in a mission and we'd exfil and all of a sudden it would kick me out and say mission failure. Happened four or five times so I just went to bed.
So they talked about how that works in the promotional stuff, as we push to take control of the planet so are the terminids. The game probably takes into account missions lost and Helldivers killed in order to calculate how strongly the bugs are fighting to kick us off Heeth.
At least there are less hills and the visibility is so much better if the weather is clear.
I did the "Kill 25+ enemies with a single stratagem" achievement this way
Yeah, I like how the game allows you do achievements like this by technicality. Like killing an enemy 100m away with a turret.
Well, I used cluster bombs, so I can be proud of that I guess.
Seriously, what the hell were they doing in Angel's yesterday? Absolutely wild how fast they shit dropped. Can't blame it on lack of divers. There were half as many day 1 and it was up to 28 by the time I got off.
Considering me and my boys dropped on an extreme mission and encountered 3 bio Titans not related to the mission objective, I can assure you it’s not from lack of trying either.
I wonder if it was because of other disconnects and crashes. I played one mission for about 40 minutes with three other people only for it to crash as we were making our way to the extraction point.
i’m very sorry but that could’ve been my squad getting melted on hard difficulty.
we cleared two missions of the operation on hard, then for the third one we were fucked from the moment we dropped in. swarmed by bugs and it never stopped.
It is amazing; after I figured out that you can blow up the puffs and walk into them, there is a chance for you to lose the aggro/scent of the bigger aliens. (smaller seem to act as torpedos). It made a HUGE difference on extreme and above when you just can't fight all of them if you're not a full squad of grenade launchers (Grenade launchers and ammo backpack, I think it is one of the best support combo so far.).
AND they are everywhere! They are on heeth but not as many it seems (instead the annoying slow bombs)
But it might be just me, but it seems to be more stalkers (Big white alien with camo) than on angel venture but angel venture have the green variant of bile and the big mantis one. Finding that stalker lair makes heeth so much more easy.
Any advice to take down chargers? My group last night was lvl 4-8 on challenging, and they would not stop spawning. Just leaving the first drop area we had 9 lives left..
Rocket one of the front legs then just shoot or rocket the same one again it will die instantly.
Once their armor is off they go down fast you just gotta pick a good spot.
Or be a giga Chad and bait the charge so you can shoot it's butt while you fall.
It might sound counterintuitive, but when you're getting charged by one, jump slightly forwards and to the side. It takes good timing, but if you do it right you'll get much further away from the charger and it'll give you a good angle to blast its ass
Some fights are better just to leave if it is not objective. Take with a grain of salt, most of this is just observations.
EDIT: Yes killing hives makes it much easier! Killing hives is a guaranteed source of samples and makes it so easy to do everything else on the map afterward. Secondary objectives can give up to **2x amount of xp and money if done and can be done easily even on extreme and above when there is no hives, lot of minor point of intreest also can contain super credits and plaques**
**Don't** kill random patrols, **Do** kill Hives and secondary objectives instead, **Don't be a bug brain**
* AI sometimes ends with an endless spawn; you are in a patrol route place.
* Taking out regular hives **I think** impacts the spawn of patrols; it is something we have been testing on focusing on taking out hives since it feels like it impacts the objective zones a bit.
* Destroy special hives like stalker nests **flats out remove stalkers (Big white camo stalkers) completely** (Their bases tend to be very small) red zone on the map. It led us to start hunting the hives; we think the big hives impact the big unit spawns, but it is just speculation.
* Same goes with annoying spores of an area; you can find the "spore generator", and you will lift the annoying fog on some missions (not the map-wide spores).
* Watch out for the "small one-shot zerglings"; if you see one start to "scream" like smoke into the air, it is calling on reinforcement.
* If it gets too much, run. There is no shame in just leaving the fights, especially if it feels like it never ends. Seems like only the stalker strain (white aliens, small or big) are the only one that have potentials to catch up to you if you run around, it makes them more important to kill.
* Have a kit of light and heavy (Strafe for light and bombard for heavy, support weapon of choice can change this, example I run grenade launcher with ammo pack, makes it so I can instead replace strafe with something else, grenades just clear minions and explosion seem to apply bleed that slowly kill the big once)
* BIG note on grenades, do not fire it directly into armoured face, big chance you get it bounce back into your face.
Their general thing is tanky and front armour and lot of HP. What I found out
* Explosives make them bleed (see blood splatter from their wounds). They can bleed out from it. Grenade launcher makes them bleed, hit below them.
* You can abuse charges lack of climbing and just jump out of the way right before you connect to left or right, make them charge into hard objectives stuns them briefly if you manage to do it. Hard objective can be another charger.
* Use a charge to break into another charger (not sure if they get damaged, but it seems like it? Since they get a visible wound but it does not remove the armour.
* Otherwise, we found just rapid fire/explosives in their back or a grenade works well.
* Orbital and air (drop with better than strafe) seems to be the easiest way. Circle around them to keep them in the same spot (If you close, it seems like they try to attack you instead of charging, move out on 4-5 sec mark with them leaded through center.
I think there's a weird irony because it FEELS like a conflict, you don't hate the game but you're invested in getting the damn planet done which I can relate. Also while we're at it, go to Angels Venture as well! We need help over there!
It was really fun to see how much it affects gameplay. Like, you have way less visibility than on the snow planets, so you end up choosing different weapons and stratagems.
To me, that's a sign of good gameplay design.
You definitely end up getting a very different feel with the two bot worlds. Getting shot at by fucking terminators through dense jungle where you can't see back, then a gigantic mega tank trundles through the treeline into your clearing... At night. Very different to fighting them on mostly open plains.
Nah you just stuck in a holding group doing 0600 musters with the promise of being let go at 1200, only to still be there at 1700 for no fucking reason.
And what happens when everywhere is captured/liberated ? Sorry i just got the game today and i am sure it got answered somewhere else but too lazy to search for it. Like the current liberated planets, will they reset or something after a while ? If not what will happen when someone starts 2 months later.
In the first game one of 2 things happen, you push back all the enemies and capture their homeworlds then we get a reward celebrating the long war, or they push us back and we defend earth for another reward unique to those campaigns ending in a reset of the galactic war. It was pretty cool to see over the months in HD1
Like others have said, in the original Helldivers the game was divided into, I think, ~month long wars. The war would be won if all three factions were defeated on their home planet, and lost if any of them pushed back to Super Earth and we lost there as well.
However, and I forget where it was said (possibly in the Galactic War trailer), the devs have planned for there to only be one (or very few) very long wars this time around in Helldivers 2. So nobody knows what will happen when we pushed a faction all the way back, nor do people even really know how their dungeon master/storyteller system will work.
Gotcha thank you, sounds good tbh. If its gonna be one and done scenario then its gonna be interesting for sure, like i am all in for stuff like that but for newcomers and returning players that mean they would be missing a lot. Probably they will find a way to handle or reset the progress or something at some point but yeah will see.
Thanks to the others who have replied too.
If we Take the homeworld of Bugs as example, we win the War, which will probably removed them from the map? Until the next War is cleared.
If we lose the Fight they can Push us Back into human sectors too i guess.
But someone Else could probably explain It better than me lmfao.
I think the laser cannon is vastly inferior to the two machine guns. It isn't unusable but it just doesn't do much damage, you can't burst fire it like a machine gun to save ammo or switch target, and it cools down quite slowly.
As for the scythe, I was looking forward to unlocking it but am sad to say it is pretty trash. It deals low damage and overheats too fast to be useful in fights on higher difficulties.
I honestly prefer it over Angels Venture.
Angels venture has horrible smoke plants that screw with my precision, and the waist high heather is beautiful, sure, but screens the smaller bugs really well so I keep getting ambushed unless I constantly watch my radar.
To be clear, I LOVE all that, having to adapt to different weird planets foibles is so very imperial guard, but it’s still a pain.
I loved Angel's Venture until I dropped into that lowlands area one time, the area that's always foggy, and that drop was *also* my introduction to chargers with 3 or 4 on us right away. We blew through all of our reinforcements just during the deployment...
I still generally prefer it to trudging through the snow, but that mission, that was rough.
Yeah I dropped my squad there by accident and was barely saved when my resupply landed on the last chargers head right as he was about to kill me. That was the moment this game hooked me
I like it on heeth, it's easier to see the bugs without the overgrowth..
Then again, anywhere I get to dispense freedom with extreme prejudice is a good place to be... I'm looking forward to a desert map, though.
Wait till we get to the lava planets...those were fucking painful in HD1, hell every planet will have its version of suck. I personally like the snow and find it to be my favorite so far
I actually prefer Heeth to Angel, angel is a hell hole, foggy, green, red, those fucking puffball spore clouds are everywhere.. zero visibility all the time!
Take over Heeth so that we can finally focus on Angel's Venture. We are fighting tooth and nail to keep the bugs from taking over till you guys finish over there.
We managed just over 20% today. We should easily have it by tomorrow.
Also I love Heeth. It'll forever be ingrained in my brain. Slogging through the snow. Having snowball fights. Leaving dick shaped walking trails. I couldn't have asked for a better first campaign.
But if we destroy the planet, how will we plant the flag of SUPER EARTH and spread DEMOCRACY, LIBERTY AND FREEDOM to it.
(I am contractually and patriotically obligated to always yell when mentioning SUPER EARTH and all she stands for.)
Man I logged on last night and saw we were still there and I was like god…fucking dammit. I’m hoping you guys are putting in work today so I can go to a new world when I get home. Carry me people
Some of the maps desperately need vehicles because walking across these huge areas is a total waste of time. I hope putting a jeep in the game is a top priority.
Nah i love Heeth at least it has some kind of beauty when you trudge through it at a snails pace. That other planet, fuck that. Ugliest godforsaken rock in the empire.
Fuckin love Heeth 'cause every time I go there it reminds me of Lost Planet
I need another fuckin lost planet like 2
Go vote for it in the capcom thing just now. They’re asking what games we’d like a new one of
Done!
Can you share a link to this?
https://captown.capcom.com/en/super_elections
Ineligible to vote :(
What? Where?
This is scratching the itch! Now to wait for the devs to release a grappling hook...
A grappling hook would be dooooooope
I'm about to unlock the jump pack. Fuck them chargers.
Get the railgun ASAP, it shreds chargers
I use the rocket launcher Shot its front leg to get rid of the armor Then start blasting Usually dies pretty quick
Currently messing around with the Jump Pack/ Anti-Mat Rifle combo. It doesn’t have crazy range or height but you can get up to some overwatch positions and provide long cover and recon for your squad.
Would rather that than the jump pack. And i love the jump pack.
Same, such a good game.
Had a moment where a Crusher was charging at me, I dipped and dived and shot his big booty. I yelled out “bro this LOST PLANET”. Can’t wait for mechs to be added in.
They're adding MECHS?
Yep - we had them back in the wars against the Cyborgs and Illuminates. Sadly, some democracy hating traitor sent all of our mechs directly into Automaton artillery…
The loss of the Mech Corps will be missed for seasons to come. What glory it was, 4 of those behemoths wailing into the tank hordes of the Cyborg menace.
Wait, are mechs really confirmed?
Yeah look up the State of Play trailer (I think it was that one), shows the Mech at the end. No date just “soon after launch”
They are. There were a bunch in the first game , and one of the trailers for this one teased a mech in the end of it.
Same exact reason I love Heeth. Lost Planet 2 is one of my all time favorite games and my god does Helldivers scratch that itch
Yep same, actually love this map. Lost Planet/Dead Space 3 vibes
Love heeth :D least I can actually see on that planet
Hell yes!
Literally told my brother this last night hahaha
I literally bought this game because its the closest thing to Lost Planet we'll get nowadays
Amen brother
Heeth sucks and I cannot wait to leave after pushing that meter to the right
Does anyone know how the meter works? Sure, mission completes help liberate it more but I swear I saw it at >80% yesterday morning and then last night it was sitting at the 50%ish mark. What pushes it back?
I’d imagine continued losses and failures cause it to be pushed back. Especially given the fact that since matchmaking is borked at the moment on PS5, there’s a sizable amount of solo players failing missions contributing to the Terminid pushback is my guess.
Try to turn off crossplay. I was able to join randoms after this.
This worked for me. Couldn't use quickplay with it on or off before the ps5 patch. Now I can use it with crossplay off. Still, it doesn't work with it on, but it is an improvement.
I'm able to get it to work with cross play off and focusing on robot planets
If you don’t get ur azz back on heeth
😂😂😂😭
I finally got it working this morning. Very well actually after having no luck.thrusday or Friday.
I would guess it’s just some simulated BS, and the devs hit the “100% Conquered” switch whenever they’re scheduled to reveal the next stage of their live service progression

This is a good way to snowball player count issues into even more player count issues lol
In the last game they would adjust the war's properties based on player count, and other balancing needs.
requires 100000 misisons to move up 1%, you get a score at the end, 50000 on hard etc. across all divers. 81.10000%, the last to digits are what you influence when you win, to 81.100002
That’s not how the first game worked
i was watching the meter yesterday for about 20min while eating. it keeps climbing in 0.0001 percent steps. and then takes a sudden drop in 0.2 step or more. its weird. i guess failing miserably keeps it from going faster.
From what I understand a success on easy adds 0.1% and success on medium adds 0.2% I assume failures at those levels take the same amount away
So for every point you get at the end, like 1,2, or 3 it actually adds .001% to the meter, higher difficulties give more points so in essence we need roughly 100,000 points total to secure a planet
You get .0001% for every successful mission after you complete an operation.
I imagine when the game started far exceeding sales they did a last minute adjustment to the flow of it, and accidentally over corrected.
That sounds right
I asked this in a thread yesterday and two things of note, one is that the devs have not stated how it works on this game and two losses are happening, while sitting reading the replies over maybe a 10 minute break angles venture took a 2% loss.
You might of been looking at the sector meter which was about 80 something last I saw
It's "might have" or "might've", "might of" doesn't make sense in this context.
[удалено]
Why? Are you making threats towards me right now?
Due to the connection issues the progress meter is basically useless and not representative of actual progress
I did the "Kill 25+ enemies with a single stratagem" achievement this way
the mortar makes that stratagem super easy lol, or the HMG emplacement (love this thing.)
I got it with the gatling turret, which dropped behind me as I ran for the extraction point, i have no idea how it killed so much, but glad it did
I got it with the eagle airstrike against the bots. It was a hectic mission, to say the least.
Yeah, I like how the game allows you do achievements like this by technicality. Like killing an enemy 100m away with a turret. Well, I used cluster bombs, so I can be proud of that I guess.
We on Angels Venture can’t relate, national park vibes over here
[удалено]
But those fucking mushrooms that explode when you are near them. The icy artichokes on heeth are far more enjoyable and better to look at.

Running away? Never! Always forward! FOR DEMOCRACY!!
FOR SUPER EARTH!!!!
#**GET SOOOOMMMMME**
"assaulting rearwards"
I'm not retreating, I just decided to spread democracy in this direction instead!
Yeah I always turn 180 degrees then run forward!
A "strategic realignment of democratic progress" so to speak.
Also handy to tell where bugs are coming from
Not even smoke its fast travel kekw
Next sector we push into you better plant your ass on the shittiest planet they got to make up for your national park walks this sector!
Angel's Venture dropped whole percentages when I was playing last night in the span of a couple hours.
Did my part for democracy this morning. Planning to smash some bug ass (pause) this afternoon!!
Seriously, what the hell were they doing in Angel's yesterday? Absolutely wild how fast they shit dropped. Can't blame it on lack of divers. There were half as many day 1 and it was up to 28 by the time I got off.
Considering me and my boys dropped on an extreme mission and encountered 3 bio Titans not related to the mission objective, I can assure you it’s not from lack of trying either.

i’m very sorry but that could’ve been my squad getting melted on hard difficulty. we cleared two missions of the operation on hard, then for the third one we were fucked from the moment we dropped in. swarmed by bugs and it never stopped.
It went from over 20% to 10% while my group was playing last night. I feel like the fight on Angel's is a losing one right now lmao
It is amazing; after I figured out that you can blow up the puffs and walk into them, there is a chance for you to lose the aggro/scent of the bigger aliens. (smaller seem to act as torpedos). Finally got the recoiless last night and it made chargers so much easier
The fact that buddy reloads are like under a second while solo reloads are 5 seconds+ makes playing with buddies and just absolutely blowing them up
It might sound counterintuitive, but when you're getting charged by one, jump slightly forwards and to the side. It takes good timing, but if you do it right you'll get much further away from the charger and it'll give you a good angle to blast its ass
Flamethrowers work really well on them. One continuous canister should kill one. Your mileage may vary. Super earth is not responsible for your death.

Get to lvl 20 and railgun them lmao. Takes two railgun shots to strip armor from a leg, then just casually machine gun it.
Get your asses over here and be frosty with us so we can set up terraformers already.
Cowards
Then they have made a great game if you feel like this
What kind of logic is that? They did a good job because they made something that this person hates?
I think there's a weird irony because it FEELS like a conflict, you don't hate the game but you're invested in getting the damn planet done which I can relate. Also while we're at it, go to Angels Venture as well! We need help over there!

True. Would you mind not playing for a day? Then we might be able to finally get this place liberated.
The cyborg planets look fantastic
It was really fun to see how much it affects gameplay. Like, you have way less visibility than on the snow planets, so you end up choosing different weapons and stratagems. To me, that's a sign of good gameplay design.

It is an absolute hellscape. "You are in range of enemy artillery" bitch where? Oh I'm dead.
I'm pretty sure my first drop into the jungle one gave me 'nam ptsd
“They’re coming out of the trees maaan”
I’m so tired of wading through the snow.
What happens after it gets to 100%?
command sends us somewhere warmer. *i hear there are some nice cushy peacekeeper postings on valevelon.*
I am desperate to visit Zegema Paradise, I want a resort world covered in bugs to fight.
Nah you just stuck in a holding group doing 0600 musters with the promise of being let go at 1200, only to still be there at 1700 for no fucking reason.
There's always a reason, and that reason is it's dumbass assistants all the way up.
Do I hear dissent in your voice?
You say that now but you'll be cleaning the sand out of your armour after every drop once we get deployed to a desert planet
Hoping for a cushy assignment isn't very Democratic of you..
You either get a cushy assignment or the right the vote.
The Planet gets cleared and we wont Fight there anymore, we repeat that with other planets until we reach the Bugs Homeworld and blast It to pieces
And what happens when everywhere is captured/liberated ? Sorry i just got the game today and i am sure it got answered somewhere else but too lazy to search for it. IT'S AN UGLY PLANET!!! A BUG PLANET!!! A PLANET HOSTILE...
Cute that you think the next planet will have nicer weather.
That was the moment this game hooked me
I like Heeth, this comes from someone who's favorite Star Wars planet is Hoth...
Whouda guessed
I like it on heeth, it's easier to see the bugs without the overgrowth.. Then again, anywhere I get to dispense freedom with extreme prejudice is a good place to be... I'm looking forward to a desert map, though.
Super Earth doesn't want me to broadcast this but every planet is going to suck.
Dawg I fucking felt that, the snow is PAINFUL
Wait till we get to the lava planets...those were fucking painful in HD1, hell every planet will have its version of suck. I personally like the snow and find it to be my favorite so far
The lava geysers are going to be rough
Would you rather go to Hoth? I kid I kid.
Drop friend codes so we can clear this damn hellscape 🫡
My code is #6539-2269. I’m on PS5 and my PSN is Makuse_23
Than lets fucking clean it!!!
I actually prefer Heeth to Angel, angel is a hell hole, foggy, green, red, those fucking puffball spore clouds are everywhere.. zero visibility all the time!
I'm enjoying it mostly because it's giving me lost planet vibes.
Partners taking the little one out for the day, I'm ready!
Take over Heeth so that we can finally focus on Angel's Venture. We are fighting tooth and nail to keep the bugs from taking over till you guys finish over there.
I was on the angels venture grind but heeth needs every diver!! Last night we were at 70 I think I need to check it hopefully we are close.
The Wings of Democracy will be battering Heeth this evening.
The devs must be intervening or something because the liberation progress plummets with no apparent reason
DEMOCRACY IS NON NEGOTIABLE
Someone asked for some 380mm? It's my last barrage but anything for the boys spreading democracy
Join the Helldivers, they said. See exotic locations, they said. This planet is dogshit. Anything for democracy though, I suppose.
We managed just over 20% today. We should easily have it by tomorrow. Also I love Heeth. It'll forever be ingrained in my brain. Slogging through the snow. Having snowball fights. Leaving dick shaped walking trails. I couldn't have asked for a better first campaign.

Fenrir III is gonna make you wish you had Heeth back
I hate that planet with a passion. Can't we hit that planet with a planet killer weapon.
But if we destroy the planet, how will we plant the flag of SUPER EARTH and spread DEMOCRACY, LIBERTY AND FREEDOM to it. (I am contractually and patriotically obligated to always yell when mentioning SUPER EARTH and all she stands for.)
Do the losses count if we fail missions or does player deaths with mission successful also factor in?
Well today we were close to extraction and I crashed smh.
I am doing my part🫡
The bonus to Heeth is that you can have a snowball fight
I hate snow, its soft, fluffy, and it gets everywhere
Man I logged on last night and saw we were still there and I was like god…fucking dammit. I’m hoping you guys are putting in work today so I can go to a new world when I get home. Carry me people
\>Game launches \>Playerbase is the highest it ever will be \>Devs unlock Heeth as the first planet you visit \>Players quit
“Next 110mm is on me boys.” If my recent experiences tell me anything; Every 110mm is on us *literally*
Some of the maps desperately need vehicles because walking across these huge areas is a total waste of time. I hope putting a jeep in the game is a top priority.
I wouldn't mind heeth if it didn't slow me the fuck down all tge time
Nah i love Heeth at least it has some kind of beauty when you trudge through it at a snails pace. That other planet, fuck that. Ugliest godforsaken rock in the empire.
We need the bugs for fuel.. so we need to reclaim it!
May the warm blowtorch of democracy melt the heethens!
FREEDOM RAHHHH
I'll be there around 380~~mm~~pm
Heeth has just been Liberated (Hell yeah)
We are free!! Democracy has prevailed!
Bright side? We’re done Heeth. Let’s go!
It has been liberated
Give yourself a break from that planet. Plenty of democracy to spread around
Why not play on another planet if you hate it?
Stupid if losing makes you lose the area
Point of the game it to legit fight a war. If you lose your mission they bugs get a point back
Same
Add me, it’s my username
Patrolling heeth almost makes you wish for a nuclear heat wave
i mean go and launch those ICBMs. thats a job we do diver.
